Anthony & Sylvan Pools

Overall our experience was a good one. There were minor issues along the way, but the responsiveness of our project manager and everyone else at Anthony and Sylvan that we dealt with was fantastic. All issues were resolved quickly and to our satisfaction.

Satisfied customer; excellent project management, where all steps were explained. Lots of useful practical advice and recommendations throughout the project - from purchase to startup. Sylvan's experts helped with the construction and material selection (e.g. deck and coping) and all the considerations that come with owning an in-ground pool. An overall good experience.

Everything went well. I have no complaints after everything was completed.

Anthony & Sylvan designed and was the general contractor for our new pool in North Caldwell, NJ. The design of our pool was great and the end product came out fantastic. There were some delays between various contractors but the project was completed on time. Anthony & Sylvan was very responsive to our requests and did their best to keep the project moving despite all the different sub-contractors involved. I give them an A rating and would use them again.

Great. The company was outstanding from start to finish. Every step of the way exceeded expectations. Every company should use their customer service model.

DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER USING ANTHONY & SYLVAN POOLS!!! The last 30 weeks building our pool has been a nightmare with them. It took them 30 weeks to build a pool which was estimated to be only a 10 week project. They are HORRIBLE at communicating with the customer. In fact, the communication is so bad their subcontractors complained to us about it. My wife has NO vacation time left because they can’t keep their own timeline straight as to when the customer needs to be home. On top of we failed EVERY inspection. Maybe it was because their Project Manager Scott Chernin was absolutely nowhere to be found when we needed him. Maybe it was because we did most of his job to try to have Sylvan complete our pool, because in 30 weeks he was at our house a total of 3 times. Not exactly the type of customer service and project management I expected with a top name like Anthony & Sylvan Pools. After the pool was completed we had leaks in it. We were never told this was commonplace for a Gunite pool after it is installed, and it took WEEKS to get someone out here to fix it. It was like pulling teeth to get someone out here because they were “Too busy” with all of the other projects they had. Then they dodge your calls because they are always in a “meeting”. Believe you me though, when they failed an inspection they had someone here the next day. Truth be told now that the pool is in and we have 2 more inspections due Sylvan has washed their hands of us. We had escalated the issues to Scotts manager Tara, and then her manager Neil Coyne. Honestly, with all of the issues we had with the failed inspections, cracks in our Kool Deck, and overspray due to sloppy craftsmanship and their lack of response after the pool is in. I’m now starting to question Sylvan’s “Lifetime Warranty.” After your pool is in its just “pass the buck.” I’ve heard nightmare stories about other pool companies and that’s why my wife and I chose Anthony & Sylvan thinking they were the Mercedes of pool companies, when in actuality it’s quite the opposite. Maybe they were good a few decades ago but recently from my own personal experience, and the other one star reviews I read the other day on the internet, I’m thinking they aren’t the company who respects their customers and takes pride in their work. STEER CLEAR FROM THEM AT ALL COSTS!!! Sincerely, Another Frustrated Sylvan Customer PS- Just wait for the automated response from Sylvan on this review. It’s a generic one, everyone gets the same. That’s proof enough that Anthony & Sylvan Pools doesn’t care about their customers best interests, or the poor craftsmanship with the construction of their pools. BUYER BEWARE!!!

It went really well. The pool is exactly what we were hoping for. Everyone at A and S was accommodating, professional and competent. Harald Bottke was terrific. He was our project manager, and was completely on top of this project from beginning to end. We couldn't be happier with the result!

Perfect... Extremely Professional. Work was completed ahead of schedule. Exceeded my expectations on ALL levels. Trevor Pagan (project manager) is the best. He answered all of my calls, texts and emails. A TRUE professional. Awesome. Anthony & Sylvan is a top notch company. #1 in my book.

It went relatively smoothly. The pool was begun in late fall 2018 and completed early spring 2019.

The service was phenomenal. The followed up was great. The project manager was the best and most outstanding. The workers were very timely and respectful of the property.

They had a really excellent service. They had organized project management, direct communication with the project manager, answered all my question in a timely manner and the product was excellent. They finished the job early.

They gave me a deal for $900 to open the pool at the start of the season and close it at the end of season. Everything was fine, no trouble. They were on time and professional.

It was nice, they coordinated with other contractors to do the job correctly. They are great, the weather last year was terrible so it was kind of delayed but he always let us know how things were going and don't leave us just hanging, he was just honest. The price was very competitive but reasonable and I would highly recommend them.
