Like I said, I like the pool itself but I've had to hire someone else to take care of, replace and repair all of the parts, pieces, etc. It's annoying to not have the company themselves stand behind their work. Trying to discuss with them my frustrations about the problems I'm having to deal with now is so bothersome. They just don't stand behind their products. I recently purchased a pool vacuum and after 1 week I took it back because it wasn't working. They accused me of doing something wrong, which I didn't. It's just a frustrating company. Don't expect customer service.

Everything went very well from start to finish on schedule. We signed the contract last September before we had our pool closed for them to start the job after the Memorial Day of this year, so the seeds from maple trees and oak trees will not stain the newly redone pool, and also, they gave us 20% discount for paying the deposit last September. We had another company's quote, and it was $7,000.00 more than Anthony Sylvan's !!! We think giving them plenty time to plan the work have paid off for us.

UPDATE on original information --- Anthony Sylvan has hired a new Customer Care person in this market and he is excellent. I would highly recommend, Owen Sakovics, and his concern for customers. By working with Owen and his perseverance, he has satisfied our major concerns and convinced us that they are a decent company to do business with. We received a quote from the sales person in Lancaster, PA. However, the construction division is located in Philadelphia. All parts of the construction is completed by sub-contractors and not Anthony Sylvan employees. The schedule is totally out of control and the only way to complete the project was to call their office every two days. We had no bad weather during the construction so this was not an excuse. The main scheduling person took vacation and no one covers for him. They have a set procedure for collecting all of their money before the project is complete. We overpaid them, and then had trouble getting our money back. We were told that there is only one person in the entire company that can issue a check. Hard to believe for a large company. The sub contractors they use for the most part are very unprofessional. We had one that complained they had to drive 2 hours from Philadelphia, and would need to leave early as traffic is bad in the afternoon. Most of the subs do not speak English so it was impossible to communicate. The one sub continually trip our circuits due to faulty saws he was using. He had to try to use hand language to explain why we needed to reset our breakers. We called their office every two days from mid June until the project was complete in mid September. I have sent two letters to the President and the CEO as the ground work is still not complete. Neither will respond to my requests, they have someone from the local office call. Of course the local office is where the problem and lack of customer service began! If using Sylvan, examine all the fine print on the back of their contract. If they destroy your yard or driveway they take no responsibility. They are completely free of all damages. I would not recommend anyone use this company unless looking for a long install and not currently living at the property.

The job was a problem from the beginning. While the salesmen who sold us the service seemed very knowledgeable, the workers who came to the job seemed less so. We learned that they were all subcontractors and none worked directly for Sylvan. The job was finished in October and it looked ok. We closed the pool, and when we opened it in the spring, the new midnight blue surface was stark white. Apparently they had not let the new surface cure properly and calcium carbonate deposits had formed on the pool walls. Only after we threatened to sue, did they come back and acid wash the walls, which never quite got back to the original color. Two years later, after the one year warranty had expired, all of the tile around the rim of the pool, once again began to crack. We had three contractors in to assess the problem and they all said that the concrete which had been put in place during the renovation had not been properly reinforced. We just had one of the contractors do a repair, When they took up the concrete put in place by Sylvan it was crumbling indicating that they had not used the proper materials. Further the "v" groove they had specified for the bond was not in evidence and there was no re-bar which all of the contractors indicated was the only way to properly do the job. I short, Sylvan had done a quick and shoddy job which we had to have re-done. While a big name in the Pool Business, I would avoid them like the plague.

They hit three of our trees coming up our driveway, we have a leak in our one-year old pool, which makes the water very cold. They continue to say they are coming out and they have yet to come. Everything seemed great when we signed the contract, but trying to get them to service our pool has been a nightmare. I have been in contact with the president of the company, who paid to remove the trees, but this seems to be an inadequate compensation for 200 year old trees. I had to stop payment on the check for three months before they would even respond. We were not given many options when we signed the contract, and we would have done many small upgrades (for instance, we only have one light in the pool, where we would rather have had several smaller lights) but they seemed more interested in just getting a signature on the contract. I would not use this company again, and would not recommend them to anyone.

They did a great job. I had a control unit on the house and it was browned out so they came and diagnosed it and got the work done. They were very respectful about being around my home and cleaned up after themselves.

I was disappointed because the work went right to our cabana and instead of delineating between the areas, leaving crumbly concrete, and put the molding over that. Two weeks later the next crew of subcontractors came. This was shoddy work. I had to pay in 1/3 increments and they would not finish the next stage and I am left with moldy areas and bad concrete.

There were no problems and things are working well. They were open to our ideas and were very professional. I think they are a great company to do business with.

They were there when they were supposed to be. They did what they were supposed to do. They were fine.

IT WAS PLEASANT. THERE WAS NO MESS WHEN THEY LEFT. IT DIDN'T TAKE ALL DAY TO DO IT.

THEY DID A GREAT JOB. THEY WERE PROFESSIONAL. THE PRICE WAS WAY TOO HIGH. THEY WERE ALWAYS ON TIME. THEY HAD NO PROBLEM DOING EXTRA WORK. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO OTHERS.

THEY COMPLETED THE JOB AS PROMISED WITH VERY FEW DELAYS. THE POOL TURNED OUT GREAT. WE DID HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE TILES FALLING OFF, BUT THEY DID RETURN TO FIX IT AT NO CHARGE WITHIN A MONTH OF THE CALL.

THE ENTIRE EXPERIENCE WITH THIS COMPANY WAS POSITIVE. THE INITIAL RENOVATION SPECIALIST CAME TO THE HOUSE AND DISCUSSED ALL THE OPTIONS AND WHEN THE CREW WAS HERE TO DO THE WORK, THEY WERE VERY COURTEOUS, ON TIME, AND NEAT. THEIR WORK WAS SUPERB. I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER WITH THIS COMPANY. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.
