We really enjoyed meeting Bill and felt he knew what he was doing. But after moving into our home we *quickly* found very dangerous old electrical wiring that needed to be replaced immediately (we found it ourselves by lifting an easily removable - and obvious - floorboard). The outdated HVAC needs to be replaced, anyone could have probably found that out just by looking at the date. He also downplayed significant structural issues with our home that needed immediate attention. We bought an older home and have always lived in pre-war era homes. We knew what is to be expected, and what should have been caught via home inspection. In about 6mos this inspector cost us nearly 100k in necessary home repairs, and had we known we would have asked for more money off or walked away.

Bill was very professional and thorough, and he patiently answered all of our questions. The report was clear and well-detailed, and once we had it, Bill spoke with us again to ensure that he answered any questions we had, based on the report. We would use him again, and recommend him to everyone!

I've had three inspections through the years, and A-Stat was the best. Usually at least one major thing is missed, but not this time. Charles went into every spider-webby crawl space, he was fearless. At one point, he was walking in his socks to keep from tracking dirt in the house and felt something with his big toe through a fairly thick rug. The impressive thing was that he did something about it. Furniture was moved, up went the rug, and underneath -- termite damage. Their own termite inspector had missed it earlier in the morning. I was impressed. He also checked out a shed, which he was under no obligation to do. Very easy to talk to, eager to answer questions, and very, very thorough. He took his time and I never felt the job was rushed. The report was detailed and understandable with many helpful photos. Highly recommend.

Bill is a great guy. He doesn't scare you with a load of imperfections. Every house has a problem and he lets the prospective buyer know this. He is always helpful in answering questions. If you want a price for repairs , Bill will give you an estimate. I am a realtor and have used him on many occasions.

Bill did a great job on our home and radon inspection. He also coordinated to have mold, well water, septic and termite inspections done on the same day with only 4 days notice from us. We would definitely recommend A-Stat to others.

Bill arrived early and spent over three hours at the house. He conducted a thorough inspection of the house from the roof to the basement. He explained what he was looking for in each area. He pointed out various areas of concern. He was very patient and answered all of our questions. The next day he emailed us a detailed report with photos. The report categorized all aspects of the house as either acceptable, marginal, or defective. It explained what actions were needed to correct the defects found. Bill also recommended additonal inspections to determine actions needed to fix previous repairs due to termite damage, as well as to assess the need for repairs to chimneys. Bill's report was very helpful.
