Don't assume it can't be fixed! Breathe new life into your cherished and sentimental pieces at a fraction of the replacement cost. With the sensibilities of a finish carpenter and the eye of an artist, I have been doing furniture repairs professionally for more than 25 years. In my corporate days I was the most trusted and requested in-home technician for a nationwide furniture retailer, maintaining the highest customer satisfaction rate in the entire company. Before that, I spent 11 years learning under a Danish perfectionist who specialized in custom Scandinavian and Amish American made collections. I have worked with all calibers of furniture and have encountered most every type of issue and can provide expert in-home repair of your wood, leather and upholstered pieces. We do service the way we'd like it done for us: cordially, respectfully, confidently, correctly, reasonably, punctually, neatly, in a timely manner and with an old-fashioned integrity. A sideboard that was a treasured piece of furniture was damaged. I was heartbroken. I found Woodwise and David Janes came to my house to do the repair. He did an amazing job! All I can say is WOW! My dog chewed the arm of our Mother's chairs that she left us. They are 50 years old, and have great sentimental value. David came, and in an hour and a half, he used his magic to make the chair look almost perfect. There was a lot of damage, and we are thrilled with the results!

David Janes is clearly a skilled fine-furniture repair man. He did a beautiful job fixing a handmade dining room table which I had thought was beyond repair.
Description of Work: This table, which was built over 30 years ago, had a lot of normal wear and tear, but after a roof leaked on it repeatedly without my knowledge, there were watermarks that just looked atrocious. I didn’t think I could ever use the table again. But in one afternoon, Mr. Janes brought it back to almost the way it looked after my late husband built it for me many years ago! He is not cheap, but worth every penny… this kind of talent is rare and really hard to find.

If you need any furniture repairs done, David is amazing. I had several other people tell me my table couldn't be repaired, without totally refinishing it. But David was able to make it like new. I was so happy with his work I had him back to touch up my kitchen cabinets and dining room suit.

Woodwise does exceptional work! After meticulous inspection of my 120 year old mahogany pedestal dining table, David was able to repair and stabilize it. Prior to his careful and detailed work, the table was very unsteady. After his repair, I can even use extra leaves in the table and can host my large family for dinners again. He even managed to schedule the work in time for the holidays. Outstanding company in every way! Highly recommend!

David is a magician! Sentimental bedroom furniture was damaged during a move. After 65 years of care there was an unsightly chip out of the front of the dresser and a smaller one on the nightstand. Once David finished his work you would never know anything had happened to the pieces. The dresser looks beautiful again. David responded promptly to my inquiry, gave an accurate estimate and did a great job. I would highly recommended Woodwise.

Woodwise Furniture Repair was recommended to me by Crate & Barrel when my 5-year-old sofa bed needed repair. (The metallic underpinnings had made a gash in the carpeting and gotten stuck, so I couldn't open or close the sofa bed.) David J. (the owner) was very diligent in trying to figure out the cause of the problem and then making the needed repair. He is very professional and pleasant, and I thought his fee was reasonable. I recommend him highly.

Punctual, pleasant, clean, and talented. Most of all, reasonably priced compared to another larger outfit that I had looked into. My husband and I are very pleased with David's work. Quick response time too. It's great that he did the work right in our house too.

I emailed David at Woodwise and he responded the next next day asking for photos of the damages. He gave me an estimate and a day and time when he would do the job. He repaired the crack so that the damage is not noticeable at all. He then put screws in the board backing the mirror and attached metal braces to provide some support for the hutch. I commend him for the quality of his work and his professionalism.
