The technician was 1/2 hour early for our appointment, which ended up working out. No work needed or repairs are needed. However, I was not expecting the cost for the "Peace of Mind" as it was put. When the appointment was scheduled, this part was conveniently not mentioned. I feel and type of charges should be disclosed at the time when the appointment is made.

Jose was very responsive, once I got in touch with them, thorough and professional. He was a little early for our first meeting but he really didn't need me there to look the job over. Jose climbed up on our roof to do a very through inspection. He took pictures of our oil heater flue and showed me how the existing terracotta flue was breaking down, potentially leaking carbon monoxide. He gave us a written quote for the work on the spot and even left his insurance information. I had a bit of a wait for Desiree to get back to me when I first called. But once I heard from her, it was an excellent experience the rest of the way. They are not the least expensive, but they are competitive. You get what you pay for and these guys are worth it. We highly recommend New Chimney Sweep for any chimney work and, though we won't need to, would definitely use them again.

Called several chimney cleaning and repair companies in the Phoenixville area. New Chimney Sweep was the only company that returned my phone call or left a message within 24 hours. Not only that, but they made a service call to my home the very next day. On that call, Jose and his assistant swept and inspected the chimney. It's much too tall and the roof is too steep for me to inspect. Given repairs that I'd had to do on another chimney on another side of our old farmhouse, and because this chimney has had birds living in it for the last two summers, I would have believed that serious repairs were required. However, Jose informed me that the chimney structure was in good condition and that only an application of sealer to the chimney top would be necessary to make the masonry sound. This attests to the company's honesty, as I could easily have been sold on more extensive but unnecessary repairs. The ancient existing damper was broken as well as the ash box cover. Jose suggested a replacement ash door and a combination cap and damper that had to be ordered. When the cap was in stock, Jose and his assistant came out promptly to install it - in the rain! They then came out a third time a few days later after the chimney top had dried from the rain to apply the sealer. Obviously, I was impressed with the services of New Chimney Sweep and thought their prices for services and installed parts were fair as well. I'll call them in the future for ongoing maintenance of my chimneys.
