The tile was installed in January 2012. I discovered today that one of the 24 inch x 24 inch tiles had a hair-line crack all the way across it. This particular tile has no consistent weight on it and is located on the 2nd floor where it is generally fairly warm so it is a mystery as to why it would crack. This tile is just in the middle of the floor and is only subject to walk through traffic that occurs about 9 - 10 times a day on average. No other tiles have cracked. I happened to purchase 4 additional tiles as backups. I did not think that I ever would have to use them; I was just being cautious. I called Lowes and I wanted them to replace the cracked tile with one of the spare tiles that I had purchased from them. Lowe's refused saying that I would have to pay their elevated labor cost of $250 to replace one tile (the entire installation cost for the project was $700). They did state that they would provide me with another tile ($20 my cost probably $10 their cost) but they would not cover the labor nor would they provide their standard 1 year warranty for the new tile. The store manager keep repeating like a parrot that the warranty on the job was 1 year and they did not have to help me out after that. Maybe others think that abandoning an customer on a technicality is fine but I just can't bring myself to ever purchase tile or services in the future from Lowe's in Downingtown. My tile floor was very small about 10" by 5" and I thought that I would get a quality product by shopping at Lowe's over using a local small tile shop or buying the tile over the internet (which I have done successfully in the past) and I believed that I would never have to worry about the floor or its workmanship - I thought I was paying for a worry free floor. Apparently I was very wrong. Lowe's has always been my favorite store in the past, however, I have never really purchased any construction services from any Lowe's (located in other towns and/or states) besides appliance installation or toilet installation so maybe I would have had the same bad service that I have experienced at this particular Lowe's store at those other stores. I have tried to buy a bathroom vanity and installation from this particular store at the same time that I purchased the tile floor in question and all I remember was I was so angry with the service or terms that were offered at that Lowes that I purchased it somewhere else.
Description of Work: Sold tile and provided a Lowe's certified contractor to install the tile.

This was a great experience for us. Lowes was helpful in making sure that we purchased the accessories we'd need to have the appliances installed (i.e. washer hoses, dryer vent, etc.) The delivery guys showed up on time and took my washer and dryer up three floors without a problem. I would definitely purchase from this store again.
Description of Work: Sold and delivered a refrigerator, washer, and dryer.
