We had a great meeting. We received proposals for roofing materials we never discussed. We then found out that the materials we were interested in were available, but they wouldn’t do it for us. Their needs were more important than satisfying a customer with another future project in line. We wanted a Cedar Shake or Terra-Cotta looking metal/composite tile. I immediately dismissed a thatched roof knowing their issues. The customer was not first in this case. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED.

Perfect...They expected one to two layers of roof but it really turned out to be three layers!. They carefully stacked the used roof to fit into the dumpster which required extra time. They took off two old satellite dishes, which took time. They replaced wood requiring 4 plywood panels, which took time. They completed everything, including cleaning up the driveway and my front porch. The porch was my leafy mess...and has never looked so clean. The foreman stayed late to finish the flashing, carefully removing and replacing the shutters to make sure it was all done correctly. That took time. This was the Friday before a major weekend, but they kept on working and left in the middle of Friday Rush Hour traffic! The owner could not have been more honest and helpful. The system/equipment was perfect for the job. They did charge for the extra wood, an agreed upon amount and part of the contract. The warranty was the best offered in the industry, from both G P Martini and the manufacturer. This job, because of the house, location of trees, required a special system that carried the material to the roof in seconds. (They could not use a crane). In the end, I was very pleased with the way the roof looks as well as the surrounding area. They even offered and then dumped my two loaded trash cans into the dumpster. I expected, due to the extra layer and time, an additional charge....this did not happen. The invoice was the exact number quoted. This is the second home where we used G. P. Martini Roofing. Several of my neighbors advised that they were impressed and will use him in the future.

The process from beginning to end went pretty well. For the estimate, the salesman was definitely low key and not pushy (no pressure to buy). I had picked out a day to install in advance and the only issue was that the day had to be changed and I had called them the day before to verify day and then they said it would need to be changed. I would have rather been notified. On the day of installation, they showed up and completed the job. Had an issue afterwards with the extended warranty I bought as there was an issue (not sure who's fault) but it was cleared up (just took longer). So far I haven't noticed anything wrong the roof (no leaking). it has been closed to 1.5 years later. I would definitely recommend them for an estimate so they are low-key and not pushy with selling on the spot. Time well tell how well the roof and installation was done.

I priced several local roofing companies to replace my 25 year old roof. From the friendly reception upon initial contact to the day of the project, everyone at GP Martini was 100% professional. The prompt, punctual service of the entire sales team, particularly Jim, was extremely gratifying. As the day of the project was getting close, I was notified that everything was in order and the crew would be there as scheduled. The foreman and crew couldn't be any more professional. They arrived when they said they would and worked efficiently and finished the project in only one day....what a nice surprise! After the job was complete the crew cleaned up the entire area as if no one was even there. And the day after the project they sent a cleanup team to do a complete secondary cleaning that I thought was great and was extremely appreciated. I am very satisfied and would recommend GP Martini Roofing to anyone needing roofing, siding and many of the other services they can provide our community. Two thumbs up!!!

It went great! So happy knowing the roof on each building is sound and looks wonderful. After all the work was completed they sent out a clean up crew to make certain everything was in good order and and no nails were left behind on our driveway.
Description of Work: GP Martini replaced the roof on our house, barn, garage and 2 out buildings. They did an amazing job from start to finish. Gary came out to meet with us and go over all that needed to be done. The day they started was amazing!!! There were so many guys working like a well oiled machine!! It continued that way daily until the job was complete. There was always a person on site to check in with if I had any questions. The process of working through the insurance is sometimes difficult and Gary and the office staff at GP Martini was available to help resolve any issues or provide me with the information I needed to get through the process. I would recommend them to anyone needing an organized, experienced roofing company. My husband was a homebuilder of 30 years and was impressed with the workmanship.

In November of 2014 I contacted GP Martini Roofing to install a new roof on our duplex building which houses two families. I received estimates from Martini via email, based on measurements of the buildings taken from Google Earth aerial photos. An invoice/contract was also received by email. The total estimate for the duplex was a bit over $17,000. Within a couple of days, Tom, a Martini Roofing sales rep, arrived and presented me with a folder of attractive, glossy GAF materials. He stated that Martini Roofing was one of only a few "Master Elite" GAF roofing contractors in the area. I gave him the deposits of both families, about $5,700, and was told that the start date would not occur until February 2015, because the company was backed up with jobs caused by a recent hailstorm. Not hearing from Martini by late February, I called and reached Tom. I learned that the start date would be in early March. Work finally began at 8 a.m. on Friday, March 6. A crew of 5-6 workers arrived and put up protective plastic sheeting around the building. The foreman of the crew came to the door, introduced himself, handed me a business card and said, ?If you need anything, please let me know.? He left. Since the foreman?s business card had no cell phone number, I could not ?let him know? anything, even though he was in our back yard: the problem was that the plastic sheeting covered the first entire floor, including all doorways. Old roofing detritus rained down, making it unsafe for me to the leave the house as long as the old roof materials were being stripped. To this I should add that a month earlier, I had returned from 7 weeks in a rehab facility, having broken my right shoulder and hip in a fall. Although I could descend the front stairs, my mobility was compromised. At the very least, I needed to feel safe. As part of the contract, rotten or damaged roof planks were removed and replaced with plywood. Although the roof surface was made whole, the process allowed splintered wood and debris to fall into our attic. At no time had we gotten any communication from Martini suggesting before their arrival that if we did not have roof insulation or an attic ceiling, we needed to cover/protect the contents of our attic. Since that was not done, we are now left with a major attic cleanup. By late afternoon, the crew had finished 2/3 of the job, mostly the main roofs. They removed the plastic sheeting, cleaned up the yard and left for the day without a word. When no one returned the following day (Saturday), we assumed the crew did not work on weekends and would return on Monday. Again, at no time during the weekend was any communication from Martini received. At this point, it should be noted that the shingles used on our roof were GAF Timberline High Definition slate-colored shingles. These may be among the best shingles available in the US today. They are multi-layered and bi-level, shaded and designed by computer to look irregular, not ?squared up,? as with a brick wall. Although the shingles are designed to look irregular, they must be applied to follow the pattern of the design and give the roof the ?finished, regular appearance,? as seen in the photos in the GAF booklet. Since no phone requesting permission to work on Sunday, we were astounded when a Martini crew showed up on Sunday morning at 7:30 a.m. While the workers quickly went work, the foreman came to the door, gave no explanation as to why they were working on a Sunday, and asked my wife to move our cars from the parking deck adjacent to our garage. She was in her pajamas! Incidentally, there is an ordinance in our borough that prohibits any construction work to be done on Sundays. Martini knows this: it?s just common sense. We, as well as our surrounding neighbors, were furious with the early morning racket. I later learned that, had the police been called, the crew would have been warned off the property and Martini would have been cited for ignoring the borough ordinance. The quality of the roofing work -- particularly that done on Sunday -- was mediocre at best. (To shingle dormer roofs that are steeply pitched and/or narrow demands much more technical skill than does a main roof.) Unfortunately, the final appearance of these dormers looks NOTHING like the beautiful dormers in the GAF brochure. Certain sections of the dormer appear to have odd-sized pieces of shingles. The top two courses of the rear dormer are patterned upside down. We requested that it be redone, but so far, nothing. Of additional concern is the top course of the front and rear dormers that were put on with broad-head roofing nails and covered with black caulk, making it appear that the roof had been shot at. Final payment for the job was sent by our neighbors in late March, but I withheld our balance until my concerns were resolved. After numerous, ineffective phone calls, a manager came in May to examine the workmanship and survey my concerns, summarized above. Among other excuses, he blamed the age of our house for the ?unfinished? look of the dormer shingles. He then used a test paint spray on a dozen of the caulked nail spots, but the spray color did not match the shingle color. It actually made the problem worse. He returned the nail holes he had sprayed to the black caulk covering, but was very vague about if or how that course could be cosmetically improved. While at the house, he asked for our balance-due payment of $5,700, giving assurances that he would send a ?roofing specialist? to assess and re-do the work to our satisfaction. Of course, once the invoice had been paid in full, we never heard from them again. In summary, GP Martini Roofing is the most uncommunicative, uncaring, unresponsive, unprofessional, unethical and mendacious contracting company with which I have ever dealt.

We are always disappointed when a customer is less than completely pleased. Unfortunately, we have learned that occasionally, we just have no chance... Without going in to a great deal of detail, suffice it to say that after rain-related reschedules, we requested to do this job on a day that happened to be the homeowner's birthday. Apparently his birthday is very important to him, and this offended him. We are pleased by the knowledge that he will have another, next year. He or she has done a great job delineating the other things that offended them, so there is no point in addressing each. Regardless of the degree to which we disagree with this review of our work, we always remain at the member's service if there are any SPECIFIC areas of concern. The photographs attached depict properly installed roofing materials. If there are other areas of concern, we will gladly visit to correct.

My roof was damaged due to the May 2014 hail storm and I called several roofers for a quote. I'm in the IT industry where computers are either right are wrong, so I have had problems with past with home contractors where they tell me "it's good enough", or "it's straight enough", which starts a bad discussion with the contractor. Plus, I google everything and watch every youtube video on a topic. Gary was great to work with, he was very client facing, friendly, and knowledgeable, and answered all my questions. His roofers are not subcontractors and full-time employees, so he has line of sight into quality control, where other roofers don't even know the contractors coming to the job site. His price was right very fair and lower than the other roofers who took advantage of the storm to make more money. When his roofers were at my house, they answered all my questions, and told me what they were doing and why. Very friendly.

We had damage to our 21 year old roof, gutters, downspouts and aluminum capping from a hailstorm. Early on we decided to only repair the roof at this time and to do the rest of the repair work in another job later. We interviewed 8 roofers and got bids from 5 roofers, including GP Martini. We did not choose GP Martini. We heard of Martini from the regional salesperson of the shingle manufacturer that we chose (Atlas) after we asked him ?what roofers do a good job with your shingles?? Gary Martini (owner) got in touch with us right away and did a very good presentation at our home. Gary was responsive and helpful in answering our questions. His pricing was fair and the estimate/quote had a good amount of detail although not as much as we would have liked. Gary offers a very good guarantee on the work that his team does and that guarantee is valid for life of your roof, transferable to another buyer - this guarantee is stronger than most other roofers we interviewed. As we saw more of the Martini roofing jobs, we had a number of questions about details of how his team did flashing, counterflashing etc. Gary was very responsive and informative. Our interaction with Gary ended after Gary reached out to me and said that based on the number of questions that we had, we might ?fit? better with a roofer who had more folks to answer those questions . Actually, Gary handled what could have been an awkward situation very professionally and well. We wanted more attention (in the form of answers to questions) than Gary was comfortable with. Gary saw this, and politely suggested that other roofers might be a better fit. In any case, the roofer we ended up with did answer a lot more questions for us, and we're very happy with the roofing job that we got. al

I am so pleased and impressed with this member. I know that many would have been hurt by my response to them. They were a delight to speak with and were very "in-tune" with the details of their project. I felt just terrible that I was struggling to keep up with their inquiries. Ordinarily, this is not a problem, but because of the hail-related work volume, and as the owner of the company, I knew that it was a matter of time before I let them down (by not being properly responsive). I am thrilled that they got their work done well by others and hope to meet them again in the future. GP Martini

Steve, Operations Manager and crew anchor, is meticulous, attentive, courteous, professional, and very personable. He deserves high praise for orchestrating a fantastic job completed same day at 3:30 p.m. Can?t forget the clean-up?they vacuumed yard and driveway, with no nails or debris left behind. My roof looks greater than beautiful; I chose GAF Timberline, Ulta HD, Pewter Gray. GP Martini?s total performance gave me enormous peace of mind and trust knowing I chose the best roofing company to be found. Now, when I see their company advertisement displayed on any lawn, I will smile trusting that homeowner received excellent service and quality workmanship, as I did.
Description of Work: From start to finish, I have never witnessed such impressive business organization and teamwork as recently demonstrated by JP Martini Roofing Co. Conveniently, roof was promptly inspected, proposal emailed, and tentative date set depending on weather. Oh happy sunny day….my roof was installed on 12/22/14, just 3 days before Christmas!! I was excited and in awe as I watched their large motorcade of crew and trucks arriving in unison and on time. They covered shrubbery/deck, coordinated, measured and calculated as though they were installing roof on the “White House. Replaced sheets of damaged plywood, installed drip edges, step flashing, new pipe collars, applied Weather Watch ice/water protection to eaves, custom formed re-coated aluminum counter flashing on chimney, etc., etc., along with additional repairs. They walked us through every phase of project and took great pride in expert installation.

Came out within a week to perform estimate. Contractor that came out seemed to have a good understanding of work required. He said he would send an estimate but he didn't. We called multiple times to request estimate but all requests were ignored. If they didn't want to do the job for some reason, the professional response should be to tell the client you are passing and move on - anything else is just plain unprofessional.

We have looked into what might have happened to the member's proposal. It appears that with the heavy volume of the season combined with the extensive hail damage in the area, we let this member down and failed to get him a proposal. We very much appreciate that he attempted to get a quote from us, and regret that we let him down. We will make an effort to button this up within the company.

It went great! This was a problem I had heard a lot about....I had solicitations from many roofers..some of whom I questioned their motives and methods. I contacted Gary at GP Martini and he came out and really helped us work through the process. His familiarity with working with insurance claims and adjusters was invaluable and made my wife and I feel very comfortable. As for the actual installation..it was done on time and on budget...no surprises! His crew was professional and courteous and did a great job cleaning up. I would most certainly use them again and I have already recommended them to friends.

Still have an active leak after almost 6 months. GP Martini offers a lifetime guarantee on workmanship (if you can get them to return) which is why you pay a premium? and $2500.00 for 5 squares is a premium by anyone?s standard. This started in April of 2014 when the commissioned salesperson misdiagnosed the issue ? twice! Once it was supposed to be a poorly installed kick-out; then the whole roof was a diagnosed as a TOTAL disaster because of staples. Finally after installation of only 5 squares around all the areas where staples where in the roofing material due to the people that installed the stucco, the leak continued. Eventually I was able to get the owner to come out and look at the roof. He admitted that it had been diagnosed incorrectly and found tears in the flashing and took pictures to show me. He assured me they would come back and fix the flashing, that they would not leave me hanging with this issue and would not charge any more than I had already paid. Now, after almost 6 months of calling the roofer, and being told that it was assigned to a technician, then they were coming on Monday, then Friday and on and on, to this date, they have not returned to fix the flashing. During one of my phone calls to inquire about the schedule, I was told they had hundreds of these leaks, but assured me, they were coming. Did I mention that they tore up one of my window screens and eventually I had to go to their shop to retrieve it myself? Did I also mention that they left one gutter so filled with debris it wouldn?t drain and after asking them to take care of it, I eventually had to go up there to clean it? So if there is a reply to this review from the company, let?s see if it is: A) Apologetic and cordial, but we're not going to fix the issue B) Blame the homeowner C)We're just so very busy and of course we're still coming to fix the issue. All I can is the original problem has not been rectified after 6 months. Caveat Emptor.

I called company almost 3 weeks ago to look at roof leak. It was after bad rainstorm with a lot of flooding. Girl was nice and said their offices were flooded but she would have someone call me by end of week. She said that she would have the guy who once lived in my complex call as he was familiar with the area. Friday came and went with no phone call. I called a week after my first call to see if I missed something. Girl said she was sorry explained again the situation and said they were booked for next 3 weeks and I could call another company BUT she said that someone from her office would call me by Friday. Friday came and went with no phone call. I completely understand about floods and rain etc. I was willing to wait the 3 weeks. BUT I do not understand why I was not given the common courtesy of a callback.

We regret that when our office and shop were flooded and completely destroyed, causing the loss of our computers, server, phone systems, trucks, equipment and materials, that this member was unsatisfied with our response time. As the owner of GP Martini Roofing Company, I will endeavor to provide better service when all that we've worked for for 17 years is destroyed by nature's fury, in the future. I was mistakenly pleased with my staff and field employees for having us up and running in the field in less than a week and in the office in less than 3 weeks. The wrong material was delivered. I discovered it as they were instaliing the decking. When I pointed it out - the manager that was on-call told the intaller to to go ahead and keep installing the wrong material. Seriously? I had to escallate the issue to the owner - who was on vacation. The owner resolved the issue and the correct material was delivered and installed - but not without a lot of headache.

Response from GP Martini Roofing Co
This member's report is factually inaccurate. While we are pleased that she selected us and greatly appreciate her business, this report is a bit shocking. First, the material that was delivered was exactly the material that was on the signed agreement. It was suggested to her during the selling process that the existing 2x decking that was in place should be replaced with proper 5/4 decking in order to provide better clearance for the cedar siding that was showing signs of unnecessary deterioration. This is what we proposed and what she agreed to. We do understand that our customers do not always understand these differences, so when I, the owner of GP Martini Roofing, was made aware of her concern upon delivery of the material, I immediately agreed to take the 5/4 material back to our shop (at my expense) and install new 2x material as had been in place originally. If there was a delay in this decision being made, it was only due to the time it might have taken for my workers to reach me. The important thing is that we DID agree to purchase all new 2x material to make her happy at a cost to us of about $800 and ZERO cost to the member. We are very pleased that she got exactly what she wanted, and would do the exact same thing for her or any other customer again. I am disappointed that the member was in any way unsatisfied during any part of the process; nevertheless, the fact that she is ultimately pleased with the purchase gives me solace.

Received three (3) quotes in August, 2013 with Martini being one of them. Sticker shock and lack of funds prevented taking action at the time. Additional leaks and damage required taking action early 2014. Called Ryan W., our rep with Martini, and said that the August quote was still good. Hammered him with questions that arose from another quote in which the company was trying to upgrade the materials being used. Ryan answered the questions honestly and correctly. The only issue was how many OSB boards would be required. Multiple quotes suggested at least ten (10). Some difficulty in scheduling the day of service due to Winter weather. This had nothing to do with the company or Ryan, purely that Winter weather affects when roofs can be done. Day of service, they came when they said they would and got right to work. Estimated to be done @ 2:00 and were done @ 1:00. Best of all only needed three (3) OSB boards. I was expecting the 10 at minimum, they were honest and only did what was needed. TIP - do your homework about roofing supplies. It will help you understand what needs to be done and the costs. Don't let good sales people talk you into upgraded materials. Think about it, advances in basic materials from just 20 years ago are far better than the materials from then and thus, upgraded materials just aren't needed. Also, make sure the company doesn't use sub-contractors. Like Martini, you want them to use their own employees. SUMMARY - DO NOT under any circumstances go with any company until you get a quote from Martini, you will be sorry if you don't. And, I think you will be sorry if you don't select Martini to do the job.

Gary Martini came out promptly to give us a quote for a new roof. We had "patched" the roof with three different vendors. Gary pointed out that the leaking section of the roof did not have a sufficient grade to support shingles and it required a flat roof. He suggested he could fix that and we would get at least 3 to 5 more years out of the balance of the current roof. We decided that while we had a roofer that we trusted and we had the money to just do the entire roof ASAP. Were we ever lucky, as a big rain came just a few days after Martini installed the new roof. We were very happy that our new roof stopped our worry. FAST, PROFESSIONAL, NEAT, PREPARED. The most amazing crew and Supervisor arrived and all quickly removed two layers of shingles. We were totally impressed with their care (we have three dogs) in not allowing nails or other items to lay on the ground or patio. Frankly, I have never seen workers that consistently worked safely, fast, etc. , like the Martini crew. I was so impressed that when the crane arrived that permitted the driver to remotely lift the shingles, I took a movie of the action. The job was done within two days (a slight delay - they wanted to complete in one day but the crane truck broke down (Tire) and they immediately sent out a second truck. Actually, work was completed in 1-1/2 days. Martini did little additional things like sealed the area around several backup air conditioners in our upstairs bedrooms. They also replaced a section of wood where we had the leak. Martini uses an impressive system by GAF that gave us great insulation. This permitted us to use our preferred GAF Williamsburg shingles, a slate gray shade, instead of the traditional white. The house actually seems warmer as well as looks great. We were able to go on line and see how the different shingles available looked on our house, prior to selection. Even the dump truck they ordered was positioned before 8:00 in the morning when Martini's crew arrived (it looked new and clean too!). The driver positioned the dump truck not to block the drive and it did not damage the wet ground! I got the impression that Gary's group was organized and demanded the best of everything from material, delivery, and crew. The supervisor had his own roofing business in the past and was won over by Gary's professional and organizational skills. He was thrilled to work for G.P. Martini and was extremely diligent. When you call their office, you get a professional gal that knows what she is doing and is extremely helpful. She wrote up the paperwork for us to get a $300 rebate (my husband is a vet) that was available from GAF. She also quickly obtained the proper permits from our township. We were so super pleased with Gary's honesty, that we didn't compare pricing with other roofers. However, in talking to neighbors admiring our new roof, we were told we got a great price. Our 50 year warranty from GAF & Martini (roof replacement & labor covered) is a wonderful bonus. We know that if we ever have a problem, we won't have to worry about a speedy repair or cost. This company is so well run, the owner even has a plan to protect the company's future by training the next generation of roofers. Gary was recommended by several friends that worked with me at Lukens Steel. (They are very demanding), and by reviews and high marks on Angie's List. We did add on some low Gutter Guards (very inexpensive, less than a $1,000) because we discussed the way our old guards went under the shingle and didn't seem to be effective. This was not something that Martini was trying to sell. However, his suggestion was a great solution to save wear & it works well. I called Gary the following SUNDAY with a question, he answered my question. Somehow I knew someone as conscientious as Gary would be working on a Sunday.
Description of Work: New Roof, designer shingle, system by GAF, also porch and other small flat roof.

The roofing technician arrived at the appointed time, and went about his work quietly and skillfully. The roofing repairs were relatively minor, and based on a home inspection prior to sale of the home. He needed to remove some flashing and of necessity tossed them on the lawn, and when he left, spotless.
Description of Work: Fixed minor roof problems: loose cap section, flashing boots at roof penetrations, inspect for any additional items missed by the inspector on this 10-year old dimensional asphalt shingle roof.

Gary Martini is very professional and easy to work with. His crew did excellent work and I will always go to him for roofing work. Recently had a gutter to fall down due to rotted wood. This is a GutterGard gutter that costs a couple thousand dollars, but that company went out of business. Mr. Martini will be replacing that gutter for us and I am sure he will do it the right way.
Description of Work: Roof repair/replacement and siding repair/replacement. Replaced damaged support beam.
