It was a battle frOm the time we provided the first check. Steve Young committed to a timeline and didn't come as committed. They actually started the job 3-4 weeks later than planned. The work took much longer than the couple of days he had quoted. We had to constantly stay on top of him to come back and finis the job. It still isn't technically completed and it is now September! As long as we still owed him money, he responded although very slowly. Once he had the final Check in hand, getting him to finish/repair the remaining issues has been a big problem. They cut our irrigation system in four places. The workers were clearly aware of the damage because they wrapped the pipes with something that looked like blue painters tape. We tried to get Steve or his team to come back to repair the damage. It took so long that we ended up fixing much of the damage ourselves. The one cut that he did come and attempt to repair still leaks and he has refused to come back. Steve also committed to spreading some soil to even out the low spots in the yard and has not done this. We contacted the Better Business Bureau and they got no response from Forever Young either. We are having to hire other firms to complete the work so are incurring additional expense as a result of their failure to complete the job. Bottom line - this was a very painful experience and we would not recommend Forever Young to anyone else.
Description of Work: We had water in our basement last year during the hurricane/tropical storms so needed mitigation to route water away from the area of our basement egress. They also installed a French drain to route water away from low lying areas.

Our project did not go as planned. When the first 2' of drywall was removed, we discovered extensive water damage further up the wall. It was decided to remove all of the drywall to within 6" of ceiling to insure proper drying of the walls and clean up of the damage. Dave (owner/proprietor of Forever Dry) and his crew were very flexible. Considering the extent of the damage, I decided not to put the drywall back at this time. In addition we changed the project mid-stream to include 4 clean-outs. Hopefully not necessary for many many years, but better to do now rather than never. We chose Forever Dry over other service providers primarily because Dave is a general contractor. He and his crew had the experience, knowledge and confidence to tackle things typical basement waterproofers were shying away from (i.e. temporarily moving the water equipment to insure the drain ran along the basement wall) for the same price the others were charging to avoid such obstacles.
Description of Work: After years of apparent basement flooding, we decided to have it corrected with an interior french drain. About 50% of the space was finished with drywall. 30% more had heavy equipment like the furnace, water heater, softener, conditioner, and pressure tank next to the wall. The job included the removal of 2' of drywall from the floor up (where applicable) with inspection and possible removal of the 2"x4" framing sill plate. Once the drywall was removed, the concrete basement floor would be jackhammered 1' from the concrete block wall and a trench dug next to or on top of the footer. At the termination of the trench would be a covered sump with a 1/3 hp pump to extricate the water to the exterior of my home well away from the foundation. With the completion of the trench, clean gravel, a sleeved drain pipe (double walled HDPE), drain holes drilled in bottom of the concrete block wall and drain board would be placed back in the trench and concreted over. In the location of the heavy equipment, the trench would either squeeze behind the equipment (as was the case with the furnace), or the equipment would be temporarily moved and quick-set concrete used in those locations. The drywall that was removed, insulation, and possible sill plates would be replaced with new materials and the finished walls brought back to paint ready.
