Brian Hunter Decks

Brian rebuilt the deck on our townhouse in Nov 2022. His work was excellent. It was the first contractor experience where the work was completed on the day they estimated. There were a few issues encountered during the construction and Brian found solutions that didn't sacrifice quality. We get compliments on our deck from the neighbors and it was a pleasure to have Brian and his team in our home.

We had 2 large new construction decks that needed to be constructed with timber tech. Obstacles on the original framing prevented us from getting the work completed in a timely fashion. I contacted Brian hunter and he was able to get in here with his crew and complete the decks and use his own ideas to overcome issues to give us 2 enormous magnificent decks that we are more than happy about.

We needed our old deck to be demolished and re-done with the addition of steps. The end result turned out great with the design of wood with matte black details in hardware & rails. There were some issues in some areas that were discussed and easily resolved. Overall we are happy with how it turned out and in time for summer.

Brian came highly recommended to us, in fact, he had done another deck for a family member the previous year so we already knew we wanted a TimberTech deck. Brian came to do a site visit and talked us through ideas and the TimberTech options, as well as giving us some advice for eventually placing a therapy tub on the deck (and what that would require structurally). The quote was provided quickly, he was fast in responding to questions so we could make decisions, and then we scheduled the work. Brian and his crew were on time, worked hard, and got the job done fast and efficiently. Everything was managed by Brian (Permit, Inspections, Etc.). He was very patient with me and all my many questions and requests during and after completion of the deck. I really appreciated his patience with our happy exuberant pup - who wanted to be fast friends with Brian right away. We couldn't be happier with our new deck - it is simply amazing!

Sounds great doesn't it? Wrong- think twice before you sign a contract. Follow up is slow, lacking, and only done when he does not have a paying job ( you have already paid so you are not priority). Then if he cannot fix it, he blames TimberTech. It is unreal. Promised us we would have a maintenance free deck. Lights have not worked correctly since they were installed. He has now told us we need to send them back to TimberTech not his problem. The fact that we have no idea how to get to the light Itself and he left no instructions is not his problem. He has been back three times for three different lights and says it has nothing to do with his install. Then the column cover for the support snapped apart. He has a wedding in Florida and is really busy. Don't know when he can get to it. On top of that we paid for this new DrySpace that goes under your deck and keeps it dry under there. It drains to gutters but since we have a two level deck it needed two separate gutters. He did not explain prior or we would have had one drain into the other. Now we have one draining to the sod and the other drains to the concrete surrounding our pool. Not a good choice but apparently we should have known better. (And it ices up in the winter). We asked for fascia on all exposed wood and were told AfterThe Fact that it could not be attached because of the DrySpace. All the main bolts are loose and can be spun with your little finger. None of the corners are mitered correctly and there are big gaps. Quality is non-existent. I threw my money down that useless gutter. We were going to use him for more railing but are frankly embarrassed to show what we have to anyone let alone install more. Will use TimberTech but NOT DeckPro. I have contacted TimberTech about the warranty and they are being helpful. I have tried to get Brian to at least fix the columns but he is too busy. Please folks - think twice before signing a contract. He will promise the world and deliver unfinished shoddy work. Stay away from this one.

We are very happy with our new deck and patio (and hot tub!). Looking forward to using this spring/summer as they completed work this January right before the cold weather/snow.Very professional crew. They worked non-stop and were clean and polite. Brian at DeckPro is very flexible and worked hard to come up with a proposal/plan that met our vision for what we wanted and stayed on budget. He is a great communicator and was able to explain his vision to us and gave us confidence in going with his plans. His crew worked well with the partnering crews (lDantonios landscaping & electrician). Very reasonable price for all that the crew did and quality workmanship they displayed. And they didn't try to nickel and dime after the fact. Brian continuously kept us up to date with progress on the project and managed the entire project coordinating with the other partners aand handling permits which we really appreciated. DeckPro and Dantonios landscaping make a great team in creating a high end custom deck/patio solutions at a strong value. Trust me, it can be hard to find expertise in both. We highly recommend. Coming back in Spring to finish some of the painting work that couldn't be done in winter to finish the job.
