Very well. I had an electrical switch plate that was very hot to the touch. I was concerned that it was a fire hazard. Bill came the same day as my call and assured me the dimmer switch was too small for the number of recessed halogen lights on the switch. He told me it was not dangerous, but it would shortly burn out because of the overload. He suggested replacing it and moving that switch to another location. He came back within 2 weeks - he was going on vacation - and the work was completed in less than an hour at the price agreed to previously.

Bill was excellent and he wasn't high in what he was charging. His prices were really good. For all the time he put in, he didn't charge me that much.

I had a list of electrical jobs that I was interested in having estimates for. I called Bill and we set up a time for him to come take a look at the work. He arrived on time and was professional. He was willing to work with me with certain requests such as me the homeowner providing the electrical wire and fixtures for certain jobs. Bill emailed an estimate about a week later outlining each job and the price to complete each so that I could decide which jobs I wanted him to complete. When he and his crew came over to perform the work, they discovered the meter box was in poor condition and there was evidence of water in the outside meter box and the breaker panel in the basement. I decided that replacement of the service line coming into the house was the best solution. This included a new a new meter box and new electrical breaker panel. I also wanted this work to be inspected by an underwriting company. Bill charged an extra $300 for pulling the permits and coordinating the inspection of the panel. This seemed like a reasonable price for the additional effort and costs incurred with having the work inspected. He and his crew spent a full day working to replace the panel and outside electrical service. Afterwards, there were still some loose ends that had to be finish up. It took Bill some time to coordinate the inspection of the work. Bill came back multiple times to get the work in proper order for the inspection. The work was certified and passed. There were still some things that I felt unsatisfied with however. There was an older transformer in the panel that was making much more noise than previously. This was controlling the electric to a thermostat and the electric baseboard heaters. Additionally, there were two single pole breakers installed for this circuit. I wanted it to have a double pole breaker, or at a minimum, connect the two breaker legs together. Bill came back to correct this issue. He ended up removing the transformer completely which meant that the thermostat was also bypassed. I came home from work to discover a VERY HOT room. After he disconnected the transformer, he failed to turn this breaker off and the heaters were running nonstop until I returned home 4 hours later and realized what he had done. To me, this is inexcusable for an electrician to be so careless. These types of mistakes lead to house burning down. I contacted him to let him know of this. His replied that he would have to think about how to wire the thermostat. That was the last time I have heard from him. This occurred several months ago so I am guessing I will most likely not hear back. Other than for the heater mishap, his work seems good and his prices seem reasonable. I would most likely not use him again because of the last item.

We had wanted to upgrade the remaining knob and tube in our 1920 house for some time and finally decided to get some quotes and determine if it was even feasible. We also decided to upgrade the existing 120 amp electric panel to a 200 amp panel at the same time. Several electricians came out to assess the job, and the scopes of work and cost estimates were all over the map for every one (five in total). Bill is one of the two electricians who really seemed to understand what I wanted to get done and didn't try to make the scope and related estimate larger than needed. He did a very thorough tour of my house, opening sockets throughout and then presented a clear estimate a couple of days later. Bill originally estimated it would take two electricians a half day to terminate the knob and tube, and then he would regroup with me to determine how long to finish the rest of the job. The first day of work, Bill showed up by himself because an employee was unavailable to help that day. Despite that, Bill stayed all day and did the work himself. He and a crew came back the following business day and completed most of the remaining work, which entailed terminating the knob and tube and rewiring with new electrical. The last part of the job, installing a new 200 amp panel and installing a new ceiling fixture, was completed two days later. Bill and his crew are extremely professional, thorough and work quickly. He explained to me what was being done throughout the job and was clear about how and when the work would be accomplished. I'm very pleased with the final results and finally feel as though I have a reliable electrician whom I can count on for future work.

Bill was very responsive on the phone, giving a rough estimate based on my description of the work. As he was about 40% of the cost of the other estimate I got, we went ahead scheduled him. He was able to come out about a week later to do the job, and revised his phone estimate upwards by $100 based on the unexpected height of the PECO junction. The work was performed quickly and professionally. We were additionally able to use an Angie's List Deal to knock $100 off the cost ($99 for $200 of electrical work). At time of service, Bill had another coupon for 10% off which we did not use, as the other was better. My only very minor complaint, which is the same for just about every electrician I've ever dealt with, is the lack of the on-site free estimates I've come to love from other types of contractors. Considering the hourly rates involved with electrical work though, I don't expect this practice to change any time soon. The phone estimate was good though: a service other electricians have been unwilling to offer me in the past. It was well within an acceptable range of the final cost, sight unseen.

He did a very good job. I was very pleased. I had a whole list that I wanted him to go through. We did the more important items on the list.

Everything went well. It did take them a few tries to get the box labeled because the house is so weirdly wired. Bill and Chris were both very nice, and professional.

This was the second time we had Bill out to do work in our home. We continue to be pleased with the work done and the cost. Bill installed the lights we requests and even went to the supply house to pick up a larger model when my wife requested a change. Bill had no issue taking to time to make sure the job met my families request. we are happy with the lights and the service and will certainly be using Bill again.

They were excellent, timely, communicated well and were reasonably priced. We are going to use them from now on as our electrician.

Bill answered his phone when I called, a big plus. He was willing to come out on a Sunday and not charge extra. He was on time, honest, and very courteous. Will definitely recommend him to others and use his services again.

Bill showed up on time @8:30 a.m. He worked until after 7 p.m. on a Friday night! He then returned early on Saturday morning and finished the job thoroughly. He and his men were very professional.

He was really creative, efficient, professional, and on time. He did everything the way he did his quote. Everything was really well done. I found him because of an article about him on Angie’s List. He put an outlet in my bathroom, and that was something tricky to do, but he figured out how to do it. There was one other thing that it costs too much for me to do, and it was not that important. He gave me all the options and I decided not to do it. We did not know what it was for. The thing is he was so good you would not mind paying extra for somebody who is talented and skilled. The price was well worth it.

His work is good, but I was cheated cause he didn't give me my full time.

I got estimates from several area electricians to disconnect the knob and tube and rewire my house. Bill Mullen was the lowest of the bids so I went with him. Bill and his associates work were exemplary. I have a very old house (over 100 years) and Bill knew how to place the new wires without tearing up floors and walls. He made several small wholes to lay out the new wires, patched them and cleaned up after themselves. Bill also made some enhancements to several existing electrical areas not covered under the work for no additional charge. I am very pleased with the work he performed and will definitely use him again for my electrical needs.

my house has been plagued with a flickering light problem for years. I thought it was a problem I was going to have to live with because the solution was a potential big job such as rewiring the house. For example, when we would use the dryer, we wouldn't be able to simultaneously use the oven or microwave or toaster oven, or dehumidifier in the basement. We couldn't even if we wanted to because the appliance would barely even turn on. Well, a contractor looking into something else completely unrelated mentioned to us that the fix may be really simple and we should call an electrician. I found Mr. Mullen on Angie's List as he has some ridiculously great reviews. I emailed him on a Friday afternoon. He came over on a Saturday morning and knew exactly what the problem was after visually inspecting our utility lines. Emailed a proposal a few hours later. Came over Monday afternoon to do the job and finished in maybe 2 hours. The results were immediate to my untrained eyes. I can understand why he has some incredible reviews. I feel that I have finally found a competent electrician to use for however long we're homeowners. I am already recommending him to my coworkers at this very moment

Bill was professional and punctual. He would call and let me know when he would arrive. He came back to make sure everything was the way I wanted it when the job was complete. His prices were very good also. Nice guy!
