Bill Mullen Electric

BME was hired by the seller of my house to install a new electric panel before we closed on my purchase of the house. Prior to closing we discovered that BME had not pulled a permit before performing the work, and had not put in a grounding rod and had not done the proper bonding to the hot water heater. (That alone is enough reason to stay away!) As part of the sale agreement the sellers promised to have BME pull a permit, come out again and do the grounding rod and bonding, and have the township inspector approve the work. When BME was here a few days after I moved in (to do the round rod and bonding) I asked them to look at the electric to my kitchen range because the control panel was lighting up (controlling the temp etc) but neither the stove nor the oven was heating. BME checked out the outlet behind the range and checked out the wiring at the electric panel and literally threw up their hands and said, "We can't figure it out, it might be a junction box up above the ceiling of your basement powder room." Guess what?? I had another electrician out the next day and within 5 minutes he discovered that BME had mixed up the wires in the electrical panel. BME had put one of the range wires next to one of the AC unit wires, so that the 2 range wires were on the same phase, which is why the range was getting some electricity (to light up the control panel) but not 240v to heat. I've got my range back!! Seriously, a laughably stupid mistake that was not only made at the time of installation, but they had a second opportunity to identify and fix their own mistake and failed. Sorry, but I have to give these guys an F. It's not personal, just professional. I'd never call them again.

He was great. We did everything within the limit of the big deal, and so we didn't pay anything extra. He was competent, friendly, and met my needs within the limit of the coupon. He was very friendly, professional, and he was great.

It went relatively well. It didn't take too long for them to finish the job. He even agreed to return to replace the dimmer with higher voltage.

Bill and Alex took care of installing a ceiling fan in my living room. They were on time, priced very well, and even upgraded my old toggle switches on the walk to a new type. They did a great job and even cleaned up better than I would.

The quote was about $1700. They were very professional and reasonable. They provided insight on the options I had and with difference in cost. I appreciated that.

Best price of 3 bids obtained. They were able to do the work soon after price agreed, came as scheduled, accomplished work in quality manner. A good experience - would use them again.

Mr Mullen and his associate arrived on time and were extremely knowledgeable regarding doing electrical work in older homes. He explained to me some other work that I will need to get done in the future but he did not pressure me to do it right away. They also did a great job cleaning up after themselves. I would definitely use them again.

It was a very good experience. Bill Mullen came to estimate the work that needed to be done; he arrived at the arranged time, and listened to what we said was needed. On the day of service, we had the same experience. The work was done promptly, completed in the time he had estimated, and with no disruption to those at the residence, which was important for us. I would highly recommend Mr. Mullen to those looking for an electrical service provider.

They were great. They came about April and I spent about $99 with them. They installed some fixtures for me.

It was a Big Deal for $99.00 I ended up paying $200.00. I called him before hand and asked him if I qualified, he said I did. It was worded complicated and he did not shoot straight with me. I felt like he was shady. The person he sent out was good but I will not use him again.

Bill is pretty much the best contractor I've worked with in the past few years. Easy to schedule with. Super professional and smart. Gets the job done efficiently. We've used him twice in the last year and we're never disappointed. He's the type of contractor who gets it - no BS. Use him.

It was fine. They just did a great job. I've used them a couple of times and they seem to be pretty good.

We recently moved into a new home. Through Angie's List I found Bill's company. His associate, Alex has been here twice. The first time was to replace 4 ceiling fans. Today he came to fix a breaker that continued to trip (Bill diagnosed this issue over the phone) and install 3 new fixtures. What a pleasant and effective team to work with. We found our new electrician!!!!!!

Everything went very well and according to plan and schedule. Bill was often on site doing work himself, and personally finished the job. My thanks go out to Bill and his crew. I would highly recommend them for just about anything related to home electrical work, and will be using them whenever I need anything done in the future.

It was a very good experience. They arrived when they said they would and were very specific and upfront about their pricing. The job was completed quickly and cleanly and cost exactly what they said it would. Recommend them highly.

Bill was wonderful to work with. Our fan was 18 years old and the original model was no longer available. The replacement was made more challenging because the fan was mounted in a marble shower enclosure and the opening was quite small. Bill initially tried to obtain a replacement motor, since this was the problem, but it was not available. After a great deal of searching he was able to find a model that fit the space. He and his assistant installed it without difficulty. They worked carefully so as not to damage the marble. When the job was completed they left the bathroom and shower enclosure perfectly clean. The fan works well and we are very happy with the job. We are especially appreciative that Bill followed through despite difficulty in finding a replacement fan that fit the space. He was responsive to our phone calls and came to do the work at the scheduled time. He will definitely be our electrician for any future work!

Super efficient. I asked if we could move the location of the chandelier and he talked through it and the additional work involved. They were quick and accommodating with our schedules.

Bill responded quickly to my inquiry on expanding my current load center which was at full capacity with circuits. He made a recommendation to install a 30 space sub panel which easily met the needs of my situation. The quote was provided same day as we talked and the work was completed 2 weeks later, right on budget. Unlike many other electricians I found Bill is super friendly and personable, and of course knowledgeable as well. The job was completely quickly (2-3 hours) and neatly. I do a lot of my own work and I would consider myself super picky with the way work is done - Bill and team did not disappoint. Would definitely use again. The price was very reasonable as well. For the most part, all went well. Crew could have done a little better job cleaning up after themselves; we found nails and other pieces of hardware for many weeks after the old wires were pulled down and the guys did not cover their shoes when coming in the house. Sometimes it took a few days to have our calls or emails returned. We had some trouble getting the exterior security lighting to work correctly, but Bill has worked with us to make things right.

Bill was very professional. He came found the problem and fixed it. I would definitely recommend him for any electrical work needed.

Outstanding, on time, professional, detail oriented. What else is there to say. The reattached the wall mount that came loose from the house that holds the power lines that services the house. They also replaced my security lighting and did it all less than a hour. I will not hesitate to call him again and highly recommend him for any electrical need.

They run a special and never followed up to do the work. They don't deserve the rating they have, in my opinion.
