Alex Smith Hardwood Flooring did a phenomenal job refinishing my 40 year old hardwood floors. I had significant staining throughout and had been previously told by other contractors that I would have to replace those areas with new hardwood. Much to my surprise most of the staining came off and in chooing the right color stain my floors turned out absolutely beautiful! All of the deep dark stains disappeared! I cannot say enough about the company's professionalism. Their quote was accurate, always arrived on time, everything was completed right on schedule. I am now going to have them re-finish the floors in all the bedrooms! Thanks Alex!

Alex Smith provided a comprehensive explanation of how the process would work. As well, he was very helpful in discussing the options for how to deal with a billiards table located in one of the rooms to be refinished. Alex Smith also offered the upgrade suggestion of quarter round molding. The end result was fine with only one disappointment: streaks where the brush strokes of the final coat overlap.

He was there on time and was finished on time. The floors look really good. We are very happy with the work.

Alex himself did not come out; we were visited by an employee, or subcontractor. The repair person was prompt and nice, but the repair job left a lot to be desired. Some of the boards have raised edges (enough to catch a sock on, or scrape a foot with), and there are large, obvious gaps. Some of the boards squeak and noticeably flex when walked on. It is possible that we were spoiled by the impeccable job our previous installer did, but this job was far short of the quality of that other work.

Alex was very professional and always returned my calls the same day. Alex finished the job in the time he estimated and did a very nice job on my Maple floors. I would use his services in the future and I recommend him to neighbors.

Excellent work. We were on vacation and he would call with the progress of the work. We were very pleased, the work looked wonderful. There was no additional problems and they had cleaned up all the trash.
