We were in a hurry to get the delivery because of preparing for a party . To be honest our lack of planning was not A-1 Mulch's problem but they went the extra mile and made the delivery in our time frame. The office was super friendly and the delivery person was very professional, backed in the road so as not to have to turn around in the lawn, cleaned out the entire load and put it right where we asked.

Let me first say that I previously read two somewhat poor reviews on this site regarding A-1, but since I was simply looking to browse for some pavers, I visited A-1 Mulch anyway and I am so glad I did. I spoke with Steve, who picked up on the fact that I was not a contractor, but a homeowner who really wasn't sure what he was looking for, as I was simply out trying to get some ideas and see what was available. I had previously visted websites and the local Home Depot and was still unsure what I wanted to do. Steve spent a good 20 minutes with me sharing with me some ideas and install methods as my challenge was a bit unique in that I wanted to put these pavers over existing concrete rather than the typical new install method. Since my project was only about 45 sq ft., Steve shared with me that they had additional product at reduced pricing that might fit my need if I wanted to take a look. Now that might sound like a sales pitch, but I assure you that he only mentioned that if cost was an issue for me, (which by the way it was not an issue) they had and quot;scrapsand quot; left over from bulk skids, that he admitted would be hard for them to move, since they were such small volumes. Turns out what they had was a beautifull match to my existing landscaping but had to be brought up from their other location. At this point, I was still non committal and told Steve, I would let him know One week later I called Steve, and told him if the material was still available, I'd like him to have it brought up to his location and I'd come get it. When I arrived Steve addressed me by name, which surprised me since it was a week since I met him and he sees how many people a day? Steve gladly spent another 30 minutes reviewing my layout and calculating exactly how much of each type of paver (edges vs full paver, charcoal vs autumn blend) that I needed. He again went over some design considerations such as contrasting colors, patterns etc... and steered me away from some and quot;less than idealand quot; ideas I had. Finally, Steve personally helped me hand load a truck with something like 140 of various pavers. I left A-1 with my pavers but also great installation tips , a well thought out design, and the confidence to do this on my own All for a Total bill of $70.00

I called to have mulch and topsoil delivered. Person to answer the phone was very helpful and informative. The day of delivery, the driver called me. I had just stepped away from my phone and it went to voicemail. The message said the driver was turning around since I wasn't answering my phone and he would be back to deliver when somebody was at the house to pay him. I found this to be incredibly rude as I had told them when I placed the order that I work from home and was very flexible on the delivery time. I called the place right back and thay said they would relay to the driver to turn around. The delivery itself went fine, the person placed it right where I asked and the quality looks good, so the only downside was the weird phone call and quot;quirk.and quot;

Thursday I ordered mulch and asked for a morning delivery. No problem. Hired a crew. After numerous calls starting at 10:00 in the morning the delivery was finally and quot;on the roadand quot; at 4:00, called back at 4:20 because the delivery still not made. They are less than 2 miles from my house. Obviously an other lie at 4:00. It was a Friday. The crew had to stay overtime to complete the job after waiting hours, so I cancelled the order at 4:30 and sent the crew home. Got a call back because they needed my credit card number to credit the prepaid sale, then they were apologetic. Poorly run, arrogant, never get a straight answer. Would never recommend this outfit for anything. They are rude and strung me along all day.
