We recently moved to our new home and there were several minor repairs that needed to be done. We are not very handy with these things, so we called a professional. Marc impressed us with his professional knowledge and conscientious work ethic. I was amazed at the breadth of his knowledge and skill. He worked his way methodically through the jobs, creatively problem-solving when faced with the inevitable snag. We also very much appreciated his efforts to save us money on materials by asking what we have on hand and allowed us to step in to do things we were able and willing to do. For instance, he purchased the railing for our basement and suggested we might want to paint it before he installed it the next day because it would be far easier to paint before it was mounted. Marc also made cost-effective alternative suggestions to achieve the results we wanted. He was very respectful of our property, laying drop cloths and cleaning up after each project. We are very pleased with the end result of all Marc's work and with his reasonable rates. We would definitely call him again if needed and recommend his services to a friend.

Marc is a nice, good guy, and I recommend him without reservation. I left him alone in the house multiple days. He was watchful of not letting the pets out. We worked out a nice system of completing some of my smaller jobs while he was waiting for supplies for other jobs. He brought a helper from some of the electrical, and he was so careful and thorough. The pantry doors were a custom order, and they look great. He did such a great job with the garage. It was an eyesore, and now it looks fresh and finished.

Marc came out and gave me an estimate on all of the jobs. When we scheduled for him to come to do the work, he offered to come on a Friday, since I was taking the day off work, so that if the job took 2 days, he could return on Saturday to finish, and I would not have to take a second day off, which I appreciated. He did a great job and I am completely satisfied with his work.

I called the company and the phone call was returned 3 days later. Marc told me it would be at least 3 weeks until he could come out to give me estimates on the different jobs I was looking to have completed. He never got back to me after that.

I was extremely satisfied with his work and won't hesitate to call him again.

BOTTOM LINE: Marc Matesich did everything we asked, did it well, did it on time and at the agreed-upon price. He made an appointment to see the job and provided an emailed estimate a few days later. As he had told us when we met, he would be able to schedule our job in about 2 weeks. I told him we needed the bedroom for use on August 8 and he said he could get the job done before that. In further negotiation, he shared he would be going on a week's vacation the week before our deadline, and might have to complete the job in two episodes. He agreed to factor in my preference to not have all the furniture from that bedroom crammed into the hall and bathroom for an extra week while he was away. On the first day, he did the wall repairs, prepped the walls and provided the base coat. He was meticulous about minimizing any mess or clutter. He lay down drop cloths in the hall to protect the runners. He was conscientious, respectful of our privacy and went about his work. Before he left for vacation, he completed the painting, removed the carpeting and took all his tools and supplies with him so that we were able to put things back in that room. We agreed he would install the ceiling fan and kitchen lights after he got back. A week later - three days earlier than expected- he called and asked if he could come complete the job the next day. He was gracious and accommodating when I asked him to also fix the closet doors. The following day, a Saturday, he arrived with an electrician who helped him with the tricky installation of the fan and lights. Both men were easy to have around and really applied themselves to the tasks. Everything looks great and works well. The entire job was completed a few days ahead of schedule. When the bill was given, without our asking, Marc backed out the cost of a gallon of very good paint that we'd managed to get on sale ourselves before he started.

Marc showed up exactly when he said he would and worked straight through and cleaned his work area at the end of the day.

Marc Matesich came out, examined the job and initially he seemed very positive about the work. Several days later he got back to me and said he wasn't interested in finishing a job someone else had started. Since he knew going in that the job had been started by another handyman, I don't understand why he came out in the first place. He wasted his time and mine, and this is consistent with other reviews that suggest he is very picky about the jobs he takes.

Marc was prompt in his estimate and communications, and was on time to complete the work. His pricing was also very fair. He was very thorough and really knew what he was doing. Just an all-around nice, competent professional! We will definitely be calling Marc again in the future for any jobs or home improvements.

Marc is a very conscientious and meticiulous worker. He pays attention to detail and spends time on making sure you are satisfied with his work. He is also very personable. You can be sure he will do a good job because he takes pride in his work That trait is hard to find in workers nowadays. I have used him in the past and will continue to use him again in the future. In addition, his prices are very reasonable.

He was prompt, courteous and did an excellent job. It was a good value for good work. I will use him again.

When the renter reports a problem, we just contact Marc and the problem is handled professionally and in a timely fashion.

It was excellent. We will probably come back to him. He cleaned up any mess he made.

Marc first installed a new overhead light/fan and a new switch that's on a timer. He then ripped out the old shower stall and realized that he'd have to move the left-hand wall to accommodate the new one. He removed the old shelving to the left of the shower and moved the wall, thus having to replace quite a bit of drywall. Marc worked long hours and was precise with his work. He tried his best not to make a mess of other parts of the house while doing all this remodeling. He also informed me of other problems that he noticed that need our attention (like a roof leak near the chimney that he noticed when he was in the attic working on the wiring and venting for the new ceiling light and fan). I appreciate that and have hired him to fix it. The ceramic floor looks great and the trim work he did was precise. Marc was friendly, patient, and flexible (we had to wait for tile to come in after the wrong tile was delivered - twice - the manufacturer's error). My husband and I are quite pleased with his work. My husband is an engineer and is very particular, so his endorsement of Marc's work is meaningful. I highly recommend him. I will definitely call him again for necessary work. I couldn't be more pleased.

Marc returned our call quickly. He came to the house to look at the project when he said he would. He said he would send an estimate in a few days. It has been close to three weeks that he was at the house, and no estimate was ever sent. He suggested that he had never done the work that we were hoping to hire him for, and we appreciated his honesty. But he said he felt confident that he could do it. When no estimate ever arrived, it was clear that he chose not to do the work. If he felt he did not want to do the work, we would certainly have understood. We would have thanked him for coming by to check out our request, and we would have given him a good review. We would have appreciated the fact that he respected our time enough to allow us to move forward with another contractor. Nothing is as unprofessional as a contractor who simply blows you off, and this is what Marc did. So I cannot recommend him. UPDATE 8/29/11: We just received a personal note from Marc explaining why he was not able to send an estimate; included in his letter was a very clear, concise estimate. We very much appreciate his efforts to get in touch with us, and will update further if we decide to take him up on his offer.

Mark arrived on time, performed the work in a very professional manner, completing the work in the time frame he had estimated and cleaned up afterwards. Throughout the repair job Mark was both professional and friendly. He also replaced several outside electrical fixtures and installed a new light fixture. All work was done to high standards and work great!

It was done very well, in a timely manner and it was professionally done. It was a great job. I'd recommend him.

Very good experience overall. It took a few days back and forth with phone calls to set up appointment but probably due to him being busy. He made an initial inspection and provided an estimate via email. He arrived on time for the service appointment and the charge matched the estimate. He took the time to look at a few extra items and we plan to use him in the future.

Marc responded promptly to my e-mail, arrived at the specified time took a look at the work I needed done. He was courteous, very professional and a nice guy. He was prompt with his estimate, which was reasonable ,and was available to do the job within a couple of days. He arrived promptly, did a great job and cleaned up afterwards. He even put some graphite in my front door lock because he noticed it sticking when he left after finishing the job.

We live in another state and Marc helps maintain our rental property. We know he is keeping an eye on things and that we can call him if we need something taken care of. He always does excellent work and we never have concerns or have to give anything a second thought.

I'm sure Mark does good work. However, in my case, I was unable to ascertain this, since he never followed up our appointment with an estimate. It's possible he just didn't want the job, but I feel he should have called me to decline the contract rather than just becoming unresponsive.

Asked him for an estimate over email and the phone, this wasn't the first time he had done work for me. he was able to come out and start the work within a week. we were able to coordinate times to make sure the kids were out of the house and not in the way (or playing in paint). Everything looks great, we think so, and the realtor was impressed.
