 + 1 moreThe work went very well. We had "pet proof" screen installed as our cats like to climb the screen after bugs. Marc researched and found an excellent product. He made sure that there were extra staples holding the screen. The screen is great. The cats have put it to the test. The finished work looks really nice. Actually better than what we had before.

 + -1 moreMarc shows up each day once the project is started until finished. He does NOT rush the work, and does not leave to go do other work. Marc does quality work, pays attention to detail, and is easy to work with on changes. He does the vast majority of the work himself, and when he does sub out some work, such as the plumbing, he is also on-site when the work is being completed. His quotes are very reasonable, and he does not tack on extra charges, his original estimates were the final cost. I would recommend Marc, and will have him back to quote on future work in our house.
Description of Work: Marc remodeled 2 bathrooms for us, one powder room and one full bath.

 + 1 moreMarc's crew showed up on time Wednesday morning and immediately began to take up the old flooring. By the end of the day, the new area was constructed, new flooring was down and new stairs were installed. Wednesday morning was used to install railings, spindles and a few pieces of latticework. Marc stopped by a number of times to check on progress and to see if we had any questions or concerns. Marc and his crew were friendly and courteous. They worked hard and the high quality of their work is evident. We are extremely satisfied with their workmanship.
Description of Work: We asked Marc to replace the flooring on our existing deck, to expand the deck by about 5 feet and to add stairs to the deck area below.

 + 3 moreSee the above section. We consider the refurbished deck by Marc Matesich a masterpiece! What more can I say? -- except to explain that unexpected medical conditions, including hospitalization and several weeks of outpatient treatments and recuperation, caused the tardiness in getting this review submitted.
Description of Work: In the spring of 2015 Marc refurbished the wooden deck attached to the back of our house that its architect 30+ years earlier had planned in a creative way. Its sizable shape represents a curved portion of a boat deck that abuts a screened porch and an adjacent family room jutting out from one end of the porch at a right angle. The unusual shape of the deck AS WELL AS the deteriorating condition of a great deal of its wooden floor and railings required the skills and experience (and patience!) of a master craftsman. Marc certainly rose to the challenging task! The end result of his restorative abilities, together with the aid of an assistant, is a deck that feels substantially sturdier and looks substantially handsomer than the original. The staining of Marc's finished product was carried out in the summer of 2015, after appropriate seasoning of the new wood, by another professionally qualified craftsman recommended by Marc.

 + 2 moreMarc, once again, did an excellent job. This is the 3rd time I have hired him to do work on my house. He tore out all of the existing soffit above the kitchen counters. He had to tuck in the wires from the existing recessed light & pendants (existing above counter bar area). He then used drywall & spackle to fix entire areas above cabinets. He replaced the recessed light (above sink) with a pendant light matching the others in the kitchen. Marc then replaced the old molding above cabinets with new molding, stained to match the cabinets. He did an excellent job!!! It looks gorgeous & once again, I'm very happy with his work.
Description of Work: Tore out soffit above kitchen counters, tucked in electrical wires, dry walled & spackled in openings. Took out old molding, replaced with new molding above cabinets. Also hung new pendant light above kitchen sink where existing recessed light was.

 + 4 moreWe had a few repairs we'd been putting off - a rotted front porch post that was supporting the corner of the porch roof, a sticky front door, a hole in the dining room wall where the parakeet cage fell off and a dryer vent that needed to be upgraded to rigid pipe (vs the plastic that was a fire hazard). Marc was quick to respond to my initial email and to look over the work and give me an estimate. He let me know that he wouldn't be able to schedule the work for 4-6 weeks and was able to do it at the start of the 6th week. The four projects took about two days to complete, and we're happy with the work. The porch post turned out to have more rot than we initially realized, so I agreed to pay by the hour for the additional time it took to do the extra work, which came to 3 hours plus materials. We would definitely hire Marc again!

He is also flexible and when I made changes to what I wanted him to do, he graciously added in the requested second bathroom faucet and installed the recessed medicine cabinet. Although the mirror adjustment that I wanted just wasn't working, he was able to fix it to my satisfaction. This is the first time that I used Marc's services, but I am very pleased and plan on calling him in the future as I have more work that I need to have done.

He also made a better connection between my dryer and the new vent pipe. Marc was very clean and tidy. He laid drop cloths/tarps over the carpet as to not tract dirt into the house and cleaned up the work area completely when finished.
