ECI Construction never responded to my communications, including a request for estimated project timelines, after I signed agreements for several projects to be completed. Furthermore, they refused to provide me with itemized costs of options so I could make an educated decisions about which options to choose. I wanted the higher quality options, but I needed to know what the costs were, but they did not provide those numbers. The estimates were by whole job only and did not itemize each portion of the project, nor specify what materials cost compared to labor costs. Also, their estimates did not include key details, instead stating, for example, "if space allows." They said they came to the property (prior to me taking possession of it) to take measurements, but measurements were not included in the estimates, so I now question if they ever came to the property. I wanted an above-cooktop microwave installed, and the job estimate states that the microwave would be installed where the ceiling-level cabinet is now, rather than customizing the cabinet size to install the microwave at a reasonable height! When I questioned this, I received no response for clarification, and received no further communications from them. It appears to me that they didn't want this client making decisions about their own property nor requesting specific information about the cost estimates, and they instead wanted to make all the decisions and have the client sign off on it. I would expect a contractor to make cost estimates based on exact measurements, not guess-timates, as well as allow the client to have options for renovations and have reasonable details by which to make decisions. I expect them to provide a professional level of service that will work for the client, not provide mediocre, lazy cost estimates. And I would most certainly expect a contractor to professionally, gracefully back out of doing work instead of ignoring phone calls and emails (which were professionally and respectfully written by me).
Description of Work: I "hired" ECI Construction to perform a number of residential re-construction and renovation projects, but they never responded or showed up after I signed the agreements.
