I initially met George in his showroom in Newtown Square and he was extremely nice. They had tons of granite selections to choose from ranging in all different quality , colors and level (price). I had made my selections for both kitchen and bath in late April/early May but didn't purchase/install until after I had moved into my new home and kitchen /bath were ready in July. Unfortunately the granite I selected for the bathroom had sold out but George was awesome, he offered me a grade 3 levels higher for the same price as the Ghibli (sp?). And he was so right it as it turned out to be gorgeous (Typhoon Bordeaux) and everytime I'm in my bathroom I'm so pleased! Then in my kitchen we created a half wall w/breakfast bar area. George was very concerned about the safety of properly installing the bar b/c I have a 2 year old so he suggested bracketing ideas and helped us by actually creating custom brackets to support the slab. And finally the overall appearance of my kitchen has been completely transformed mainly because of his countertops. He gave me a great deal including on the type of edge (Ogee), faucets/hardware, etc. He's also in the process of getting me a granite slab for a cutting board to finish it all off. I have had several contractors in to do work and they all are drawn to the kitchen countertops/edging and say how nice it looks and are in disbelief when I tell them about everything. Great workmanship, selection and price. George is very responsive and has great pride in his work. He's a man of his word - the way business used to be and should still be. I have recommended him to several friends/family members already.
Description of Work: This company came out and measured and templated countertops for both my kitchen and bathroom and then returned in a 1-2 week timeframe to install my granite countertops.

It was a great experience overall. We are very pleased with the high quality of the counter fit and installation, including the attention to detail on minimizing the slab seam by putting it through the sink. The installer was very knowledgeable, professional and cordial. He gave the definite impression of a concern to do a top quality job. He didn't waste any time, but also didn't rush through the job. It's a family owned firm with another location in Philadelphia, PA. There was no high pressure to sign a sales contract or make a stone selection. They were very quick in scheduling the free estimate, the granite template, and installation. This was a pricing special that included their Level 1 granite, a sink and faucet set and choice of several counter edges. Level 1 included at least 3 - 4 stone looks. There were other options available for upgrade but there was no pressure to consider anything other than the special options. They do complete kitchens and have additional full backsplash options that we did not consider for this contract, There is a stone yard in Essington but we didn't need to go there for the stone choice we made. Installation was originally scheduled for late afternoon on Friday 5/6, but they got held up in city traffic to another job. He called to let us know about the delay and called back once he finished the earlier job. We had the option of a later evening installation on 5/6 or a reschedule for 5/7. We chose 5/7. He coordinated the reschedule with the plumber and brought us a matching granite cutting board because of the delay. They cut the opening for the cooktop on site. One of the 2 man crew had to go buy missing earplugs and on request brought a set for my mother. One glitch was a small hole made in the drywall while removing the 40 year old backsplash. They did not mention it or repair it. I didn't ask about it. I recommend establishing in advance how such damage will be handled. I also suggest that for a 4 inch backsplash either they or the homeowner sand the walls at the top of the where the grout/caulk met the wall. They didn't mention it and I didn't think of it until after they left. The installer made a point of telling us to not hesitate to get in touch with them later for any questions or problems. I haven't done so. He didn't charge me for unhooking or reconnecting the cooktop or the earplugs so I didn't mind fixing the wall. It's going to be repainted anyway and there are other visible repairs required unrelated to this transaction..
Description of Work: Free estimate. Store loaned granite samples for in house review prior to estimate & contract. Removed old formica countertop and four inch backsplash, disconnected plumbing and cooktop. Told they recycle removed material. Installed new granite countertop, backsplash & sink. This required a little adjustment to the existing cabinet heights to level the new counter. Reconnected cooktop, caulked joints, applied sealer. On request they left a small piece of scrap granite to take with me for color matching on later kitchen changes. I asked about a plumber recommendation. They provided one, who worked great with the installation schedule. The plumber installed the new faucet and completed the related sink connections including replacing old corroded adjacent pipe. They cleaned up and removed all scrap materials.
