He hard wired our emergency lighting with used equipment. He charged us triple the price that we could have paid if we bought it on the internet. He overbilled us for his time. The experience was a complete nightmare.
Description of Work: Installed emergency lighting.

The job is not done right and it is a hazard to my daughter and myself.
Description of Work: Dan (owner) came to give me an estimate. Looked at my house and I gave him detail about what I hoped to have done. I wanted a few issues resolved and my electrical service upgraded. I had an issue of a breaker overloaded and blowing also. This was clearly expressed that this problem needed to be fixed and I had hoped to get more work done in the future. I never received a written estimate, nor did he contact me to set up a time for the job. I called him, requested an estimate and he said he would mail one to me and told me the work would be $600 and some dollars (under $700). Also at that time we set up a date to do the work. I still had not received a written estimate, but the verbal price sounded good so I allowed him to do the job. On the day of our appointment They came on time, worked most of the day but said he had to leave after doing (the service upgrade) only part of what I had asked for. I asked if the blowing breaker situation was fixed, he assured me it was. I was then given a bill that was $200 more than the verbal quote and listed only the parts used and the number of hours worked but it gave no cost details. I have no idea how much he is charging me for any thing. The very next morning, it (same breaker) blew again when I used the hair dryer, as it had been doing before the work. Nothing changed. I alerted him that next day that the issue was not resolved and he told me that he would come next week and fix it off the clock before beginning to do the additional outlet install that I had requested. I was good with that. However, a friend of mine said that I should have a detailed bill to show what I am being charged for parts and labor. I called again and left Dan a message requesting he bring an itemized bill. He called me the night before he was supposed to come resolve the problem and was angry because I requested an itemized price of parts and he said he didnt like to do that because of sales tax. What? The he assumed that I wasnt going to pay my bill and said that he had trusted me to make payments but now he wasnt sure. I never said that I wasnt going to pay, I only want the work completed that I had hired him to do. He was nasty and arrogant and and said that he would not come and fix the problem until I paid on the bill. He double talked, contradicted himself and told me he didnt need customers like me because he had plenty. I told him I am a single mother who cant afford to pay hundreds more than a quote on a repair job. That is not the same as refusing to pay. I plan on paying him.
