I called Jansen Tree Experts about having a dead tree removed from the back of my property. They called the next day while I was at work to say that they were standing in my driveway and gave me an estimate on the spot. The estimate was hundreds of dollars below other estimates that I'd gotten 2 years earlier. When I told them that my next door neighbor also wanted a tree removed, they agree to chop $100 off of both jobs and took both trees down THAT DAY! The only reason I gave Jensen a B in Responsiveness is because I'd paid extra to get the stump ground which they did not do the day the tree was removed. I called a few times before they responded that their stump grinder was broken and they were having a hard time renting one. I called again and got the same response. I asked them to let me know when they'd be coming out to grind the stump. They did grind the stump, but there was no call to say they were doing so. I only realized they had when looking out my second story window, and there was no offer to remove the grindings.

My experience with Jansen was very positive. They provided my estimated within a day and we were able to schedule the work shortly after that. The work was performed while I was at work. When I came home, trees look beautiful and you would never know thet were there. All debris was cleaned up and removed. I was very happy with their service and would highly recommend them in the future.

They have good and prompt services. They cleaned up after themselves. Their price was cheap for the size of the tree that they cut down. They did everything. I didn't have to think about it or do anything. They brought a small crew and were in and out quickly.

Quote was prompt, but used another similar bid.

Jansen came over within a few hours of my initial call. The estimate process was efficient and I was happy with the price. The Jansen crew showed up the next day to perform the work and they did a great job. They cleaned up everything and worked quickly. I would recommend Jansen if you need help with landscaping or tree removal.

The guys were at my house at 8am and started working on the trees. A few worked on taking down the one tree and the other guys worked on shaping the Spruce tree. They did a GREAT job and cleaned up all the debris from both trees. Very Professional and Courteous. So much so that my neighbor asked for an estimate on having her 2 trees taken down as well. My neighbor did use Jansen as well and was very pleased. I would definitely use them again.

I had several large maple trees on the property which needed to be trimmed. I called for an estimate and they were out the next day, prompt and courteous. He had good recommendations as to what should be pruned (and what shouldn't) and why. He advised me that they are fully insured and provided proof of this by email later that day. I also got a better price because I had all 4 trees done at once, and the estimate ended up being over $600 less than a competitor so I agreed to have the work done. They showed up 3 days later - on time - and got to work. The neighbor also wanted a couple of trees pruned so they did those at the same time. It took them approximately 4-5 hours from start to finish to do all the trees on both properties. The foreman was very patient with all my questions, and when an old electric wire came down, he called PECO and made sure they came out to fix it. They did a beautiful job on the trees and also cleaned up the yard well. They also trimmed a couple small branches from a dogwood tree and took down a dead bush in the backyard, free of charge. All in all, they were reasonably priced, polite, on time, and did a very good job.

They were great all around. We've used them in the past for smaller jobs and always found them to have the best prices. We received 2 other quotes this time and they were the cheapest again. Showed up on time for the quote and for the day of service. Worked quickly and cleaned up afterwards. We were pleased with all aspects of the job.

Called for an estimate on October 17th to remove a large weeping cherry tree. Jansen Tree Service came the next morning, gave me an estimate and then performed the work at lunchtime. Very quick service with reasonable price. They hauled aways limbs and stump and cleaned up after. Good work.

Mr Jansen came to our house within 36 hours of calling for an estimate, he was professional, explained the job, the process, and the equipment. We booked him that day and a week later his team arrived to perform the work. The job was great, and the yard was spotless upon completion.

They got back to me right away and gave me a very good price. They did everything exactly as I wanted. I have nothing but praise for the work that they did. They took time to explain everything and were very helpful.

Hurricane Irene hit just after we contracted Jansen to remove two trees and chainsaw some stumps. Thus, it took about a week longer to have the work done than we had hoped, but they had customers with far more pressing and immediate needs so we understood the delay. They did a great job with what we asked them to do. They did miss two stumps that were a bit hidden by some day lilies, but they came back and cut those today. They also explained why the couldn't cut one of the stumps--it had grown around some old rusted chain link fence years ago and when they tried it ruined the chainsaw blade. They seem like a great family business and were quite helpful when I had questions for them. I'll use them again in the future.

I had two large trees in a small swampy back yard. Jansen removed both trees and ground the stumps for $600! I emailed them....I didn't have time to meet with them. They left me an estimate. They called and told me that they were doing work in my area and could offer me a discount since they would already be there. I went for it! The price was amazing!!!!!!! I came home one day and it was all done. The bill was on my porch. I called with my credit card. I am very happy!!!!!!

Called on Sat a.m. To have tree limb removed that had fallen on our roof. Left message and got an immediate callback. Owner came in a couple of hrs for an estimate. Crew arrived first thing Monday to complete the job. Prompt, courteous, excellent work.

I called Mr. Janzen last week after seeing the company on Angie's list. They are a local company and I would like to support them. He came out the next morning and gave an estimate for tree removal after walking around with me. He seems very knowledgeable. My husband found the estimate a bit high and I called back and Mr. Jansen was willing to work with me and adjust it since I would be paying for the job myself and I really want the trees done before a storm. They scheduled the job right away since they had another one in the neighborhood. I think it is great that they brought that many people out to help, there were lots of busy guys in trees the kids LOVED watching LOL. I had to leave but when I got back the place was pretty spotless, the job was done quickly. I am satisfied. The only reason I gave a B is that in general I guess tree removal is expensive and there are a lot of guys to pay but still...it is so expensive! So I am happy with the company, very happy with the service, it is just that like just about everything these days, maintenance is expensive and it is only going to get worse I guess.

The crew reviewed the job and arrived on time, worked quickly and cleanly. Very nice job.

Service and price were wonderful. They were able to give us an estimate the day after we called and came to do the work 2 days after that- they even came early because another job had cancelled. We had a large amount of work to do and they worked quickly and efficiently to get it done. Their interactions were always very professional and friendly. When unexpected issues arose (our electric fence in the way of a stump or inability to bring the crane onto our yard because of our septic system) they alerted us and we worked out another plan quickly. The price was unbeatable for the amount of work that was done and we are very happy with the results. We will definitely use Jansen again!

I called Jansen's Tree Experts yesterday morning and they came out to give me an estimate a couple hours later. Larry, one of the owners of this 50 year old family business, came himself and it was clear from the first moment that the man knew a lot about trees. He explained to me about the nature of my trees, how they needed to be cut so that they would be both safe for my house but also would grow in a healthy way. It was the fastest, easiest quote I've ever had for work on the house and yet I never felt like he was rushing me as I asked questions. I'm still not sure how he managed that. I didn't get any other quotes but based on word of mouth I've heard from friends prior to getting my estimate, I felt that the price was fair. I asked him to itemize the quote so that I could select what I could have done, anticipating that the price would be high. He gave me a substantial discount for getting my 3 primary trees done at one time. After all the work was done, I actually feel like I got an excellent value for my money. They took care of the 'big' trees but they did a half a dozen little things around the yard that would have hard for me but was easy for them with their specialized equipment (like taking a couple branches off the smaller trees and trimming the rhodedendron and the Yew). Most important, I feel like I paid not to have the trees trimmed so much as the trees and bushes made healthy. Healthy trees remain beautiful in my yard, provide living space for the animals and don't fall on my house. The crew arrived at 7:30 AM the next day. They were amazing. All of them were knowledgable, experienced and friendly. They genuinely seem to like each other and their jobs. It was clear that they really cared about doing quality work and also about the health of my trees. The two big oak trees are really awkwardly positioned. Both trees hang over all the wires to both my house and my neighbor's house. 1 of the trees basically has its branches spread either over my roof or my neighbors roof. The other tree is over some ornimental bushes and my shed. It was fascinating to watch them pruning the trees. I'd anticipated going into the house to get away from the noise but it wasn't too bad. I watched Steve dancing around in the top of the oak tree from a rope and texted someone that he was 'tarzan with a chain saw'. It was impressive. After my tree was done, I decided Steve was an 'artist with a chain saw'. I still can't believe how good the trees look and how he was able to make sure that the big branches and logs landed exactly where he wanted them to land. While chatting with him, I learned that he has 25 years of experience in working with big trees. Having watched him in the trees, I wasn't surprised to hear that. They thinned back the branches in the other oak so that they wind could pass through and it would be less likely to fall in a big wind. It looks better than it did when the crown was thick and crowded. It's a nice, dappled shade/light coming through without the overgrowth. They cut branches on two little trees so that they were away from my other neighbors garage. They fed the oaks. They trimmed some dead away from a rhodedendron that is so big you could hide a car in it. They also just generally pruned the rhodedendron back. They trimmed back and shaped a yew (an evergreenish, pinish type tree). Kevin, the foreman, was great! He never stopped moving. When I asked him to make sure that they didn't disturb the squirrels nests, he made sure that they were left alone and didn't make me feel silly for caring about the squirrels. I really felt that both Kevin and Larry were really listening to my concerns and taking them seriously, whether it was about the health of a bush or the house of a squirrel. The rest of the crew was great, too. They worked hard and fast but laughed and genuinely seemed to enjoy their jobs and their workmates. They all had so much experience and after the first few branches came down, I stopped worrying and actually really enjoyed the show. They finished a tremendous amount of work, including chipping all the wood and clearing up everything, including the dust, in 3 hours. The clean up job they did was really thorough. My yard actually looked better when they left than it did when they arrived since there had been some little branches on the lawn from a recent windy storm. They raked up everywhere that they'd worked and blew away all dust. When Larry came in the morning, I'd asked a few more questions, opening the opportunity for him to try to sell me more work, asking if I should have them back the next year for more pruning on the trees or feeding. He told me 3 years for the feeding and 5 to 7 years for the pruning. He had plenty of opportunity to try to sell me services that I apparently don't need but he didn't do that. I would strongly recommend Jansen's Tree Experts. I've put their number in my cell phone under 'tree experts' and they are the only company I would deal with in the future. I'll depend on them to keep my trees healthy, my yard beautiful, and my house safe. They really are artists with chainsaws.

Excellent service. I live in Drexel Hill and we were hit with a MAJOR storm in July, which caused two very large branches at the top of my very tall trees to break and be suspended on other branches - very dangerous. I called my regular tree company but they didn't return my calls - neither did my second choice company. I called Jansen, whom I had never worked with before. They came out the next business day, called me with an estimate, and completed the job that day. When they found something unexpected, they called to get my ok to proceed as it increased the estimate slightly. Excellent job, excellent service, very professional. Needless to say, these guys are now my official tree guys and I will call them every year to do my annual tree maintenance. Well done!

The estimator was at my door within an hour of my call, even though the company was very busy because it was only a few days after a record snowstorm in which many people had suffered similar tree damage. He gave me invaluable advice about dealing with my insurance company, telling me (correctly) that an insurance claims representative who had spent a half-hour on the phone with me trying to talk me out of making a claim was full of baloney (as a result I contacted my insurance agent, who apologized for the claims person's misleading information and had a helpful claims adjuster on the case in less than an hour). The four guys who came to remove the tree did the work amazingly quickly, finishing the entire job, including cleanup, in less than two hours (even though the estimator had cautioned me that due to their high emergency workload they would probably only have time to take the tree off my house and would have to come back days or weeks later to cut it up and haul it away). They were courteous and professional, and surprised me with how completely successful they were in avoiding damaging any of my valued trees and shrubs, which were literally intertwined with the branches and trunk of the fallen tree. They did an extremely thorough job cleaning up.

They were working across the street and I went to talk to them. Then a person came in 10 minutes to give an estimate and the crew came by that afternoon to work. It happened quickly.

They did an excellent job for a much lower price than other estimates. They had all the right equipment and were able to remove the tree without stopping traffic for long periods of time--no need to get permissions from the township or county on a state road. They ground the stump and two others very cleanly, but they do not remove the sawdust. They were courteous, pleasant, and quick.

I believe they are brothers who run this business. The brother who did the estimate only gave me the estimate for the prune and fertilized, he said that he would have the other brother come out the following week to have an estimate done on having the tree removed. I have yet to hear from them since the first and only estimate I received. I do not believe they intend on doing the job.

Fine - no problems and they cleaned up very well!

We've just moved into a new home and had some questions about two vine-covered trees in the back yard, thinking that we may want to remove them to give neighboring trees more of a chance. We called two companies for estimates. Neither company said that the vine-covered trees were a problem, but both recommended the pruning of dead limbs from the two maples in the back yard and the removal of the suckers. We called Jansen because they did work on this property a few years back. Company 2 came out second and quoted additional work over what Jansen recommended. Shortly after Company 2 left, Jansen showed up to let me know they'd knock $75 off the price if they could do the work that afternoon - they were in the neighborhood. I took the opportunity to talk to him about some of the questions raised by Company 2 and it seemed clear to me that they had a lot of experience with this particular property and the plants on it, so I decided to go with them. Within a few hours, men were up in the trees and a chipper was humming along beside the house. The chipper was next to a side door and a stray wood chip tore our screen door. Jansen apologized on the spot, took the screen with them and returned it good-as-new the next day.
