On Wed Sept 9, 2014 CNT HVAC, Chris Long, checked system, found tubing flare leak on indoor unit. CNT reworked tubing flare, checked the system by vacuum and filled it with 4.8lbs of refrigerant. $412 total. ($75 for service call, $115 to repair tubing flare, vacuum and check for leaks + $216 for 4.8 lbs R410a refrigerant) System seemed to work when CNT left, but less than 24 hours later the indoor unit froze up. An ice block. Then it quit cooling all together. I call CNT back, they came on Friday Sept 11 and found entire mini split system was completely empty of refrigerant. They checked system with vacuum and find that the outdoor compressor unit was leaking. Basically with that, they did not want to try to repair the outdoor unit nor did they have any desire to give me a refund, partial or otherwise. I asked for a $200 refund, considering the fact that R412a refrigerant costs only $4.80 per lb (he put $23.04 of refrigerant in the system but charged me $216 for said refrigerant) and the fact that I have spent money for NOTHING IN RETURN, but he refused. In fact, he claims he should have charged me MORE for coming back out!!! Can you believe this?? So as of now I have lost $412 for absolutely nothing! It's a shame, we've been customers of his for several years, he did a couple other repairs for us and they went well. Why a businessman would treat repeat customers so poorly is beyond me. I just don't get it. I run my own camera repair business and cannot imagine treating my customers the way I have been treated.
Description of Work: Minisplit AC system went on the fritz.

I called C.N.T. after finding their receipt in my home purchase files, from previous owner. It was a bitterly cold day in January 2010, and my radiators went cold. Another company I called said $900 and a couple days to come out. When I got Chris on the phone he seemed empathetic to my situation, as I had a 9 month old living in the house, and for the bitter, well below freezing temps. He came within 2 hours of our call. He assessed the problem, and got my boiler to run temporarily. He told me the part need ordering as it was not in his inventory. He showed me how to get the boiler to restart if it went out again from loose bad wiring on the back side of the aquastat's board. Chris was pleasant, courteous and informative, but most of all he made an offer that if my boiler went back off before his return and I could not start it, he would come back to do so. In the 3 days it took my part to come and him to return, we talked twice, I recall, he was checking to see if my family and I had heat and didn't need him to come. My house call estimate was $69.00, and rolled into the final cost of $299.95. Chris returned did his job efficiently and neatly, and I have not had a problem since. I would recommend him to others and may use him again for another heating system issue with my expansion tank.
Description of Work: Installed a new Aquastat on boiler.

We contacted Christopher because we noticed that our air conditioner was blowing warm air during the crazy heat spell we were having in July. My husband went out to investigate and found our unit was leaking. Christopher said he could come out the next day and have a look. Sadly, our unit needed replacing, but Christopher provided us with our best cost effective options. We ended up replacing the unit, and luckily he was able to install the same day. He was polite, hard-working, and didn't stop until the job was done, despite the horrible heat. We would definitely contact Christopher with any other heating or air conditioning concerns in the future.
Description of Work: Replaced my broken A/C unit.
