MIKE'S MAINTENANCE

I left a detailed message, indicating the type of electrical work needed, and no one ever responded.

Thought he did ok the first time out but then was disappointed. He asks for money up front to buy materials but since I paid for those materials expected him to leave with me. He did not. FOr instance charged me for Kilz paint but barely used any, had to have him come back to repaint the water stain and it still was not right. Also needed him to come back to fix a toilet. Had to have him recaulk as well since he uses materials sparingly. I would not have him back again, even though I needed more work done. I did not like the fact that he charges for materials in advance and his work is not as good as he claims.

The experience was really good. He came early. He was pleasant and professional. I would use him again , and will. He does alot of different things, and we discussed my plans for future repairs. I liked him alot.

Basically, he did not finish the job. We had set up 2 additional appointments for him to finish the job, but he was a no-show, no-phone call for both. He never returned my third phone call. I have pictures showing the very shoddy job that he did. I had a leak from my tub faucet. Instead of just fixing that, he suggested that he could replace it with a new handle, faucet and shower head. I agreed. Well, he ended up ripping part of my wall out behind the tub and did a very shoddy patch-up job to fix that, which I have to get someone else to fix correctly. The new faucet is not up against the bathtub wall (he did not bother to cut the spigot correctly, it was too long so that when he put the faucet on, it did not make it to the wall). There is a half inch space between where the wall is and where the faucet starts. Plus he somehow burned the plastic lining, which he did not fix. It looks absolutely horrible. Now, I have to pay someone else to fix his shoddy work. Finally, I stupidly had trusted him and left him a check before the job was complete. I needed to leave before he was done with the job. He said he would be finished that day, so I left him a check. When I got back home, I discovered he had not finished the job, but he sure took the check! So Please Be very careful if you chose to use this guy. If you do use him, do not give him any money before he is done with the job and you are happy with it. It was a very upsetting experience and I will never use his services again!

I found Mike through Angie's List, e mailed him, and he phoned me within an hour. He came within a couple of days of the initial phone call, and boy is he a stickler for punctuality! No waiting around wondering when he'll show up. When he says 10:00, he's there at 10:00, or earlier. He did a thorough, professional job for us over the course of 3 visits, and we will definitely have him back to do more work. He's friendly, professional, knowledgeable and very, very reasonable. Highly recommended!

Overall, the experience went well. Mike removed old caulk and recaulked son's bathroom, replaced leaking hose in master bath and replaced seal and bolts on 1/2 bathroom toliet. Due to weather constraints we agreed that outside work will be done on another day since electrical work is involved. Mike will also repaint living room ceiling where leaks were evident

Returned next morning ahead of schedule. Performed repairs in record time. Issues arose after he left which he returned to fix a few days later (at no additional cost). This guy seems too good to be true! Labor cost 75$. I may have him to tile my bathroom tub area.

This was the second time we encountered a leak under our kitchen sink and we still had remnant issues from the first repair job. I cringed at the thought of needing to locate a plumber again. Many of my colleagues use Angie's List and I thought I would give it a try. I located Mike as a local plumber and sent him an email, he responded very quickly. I scheduled a time for him to look at the problem and he arrived 10 minutes early!! He fixed the problem in a few minutes and looked at additional issues that have been piling up. Mike is very friendly, polite, easy going and he gave us advise on solving some other minor issues. In addition to plumbing, Mike does electrical work and handyman jobs, so my husband is making a list of things that need to be done around the house. I look forward to Mike returning to my home.

We had a bunch of small jobs that had been piling up over time. Mike showed up 20 minutes early (wow!) both days he was here. He spent less than 3 hours total to do all the work stated above, plus took time to give advice and discuss future projects. When I commented on how fast he works, he chuckled and corrected me, saying, "I'm not fast - I'm efficient!" His prices are extremely fair and he doesn't charge a big chunk just for showing up! Mike is cordial, polite, and easy to talk to. He also won't make you feel stupid for not knowing anything about plumbing! I had told him ahead of time what my budget was for the job, and his bill came in about $100 less. Now that's honesty!!! BTW, he also does electrical and other "handyman" work, so we'll be calling him in the future for other fix-its.
