We are happy to be a small company with a personal touch that is hard to beat from the larger companies. We have been in business since 1994 and still maintain some of the first properties we had when we started. We are interested in making long term relationships with our customers and enjoy being your one stop source for all your lawn and landscaping needs.
The next year he put in a dogwood tree. It died. The year after that he put in a dogwood tree. It died. He offered no restitution this time. I did not pay this contractor for the final treatment on my lawn and used the money to put in a dogwood tree. It lived. Remember he still did nothing about the removal of the wrong tree the preceding year. He also planted two different shrubs in the front of the house. They grow unevenly and need constant pruning to make them look even. What a mess!
Description of Work: We contracted with this provided for approximately 4 years time. He was supposed to take care of our lawn and landscaping. He did a fair job with the lawn but then I asked him to remove a tree from our property. He cut down the wrong one. He never apologized or offered any restitution. I should have stopped working with him at that point.

Response from YANDLE'S YARDCARE
We have done work for this client from 4/13/2007 until 12/12/2012 or six years time. The first job we did for them was remove majority of landscape around home and install new landscape. She was happy with this work so had us come back for 6 years to do 5 fertilizer applications a year, re-mulching and re-edging of landscape beds, pruning of all shrubbery, and other jobs as needed. We basically took care of everything for her minus the mowing for 6 years. We were originally referred to her by neighbor two doors down that we continue to do work for and have done work for for 17 years. We were never asked by her to remove a tree and removed the wrong one. The two shrubs in front of home are both barberries and same color as well as look. One growing faster than other is obviously out of our hands and a complaint I have never heard of before. They were both pruned to same size once a year and we can not control one growing faster than other. The dogwood statement is correct with many details left out of what happened. We did plant one that did not make it and replaced it for free of charge. The second one dying was never brought to my attention by her until a matter of a unpaid invoice from 7 months prior was brought up by me. Client owed on invoice 7 months past due and paid invoices leading up to that point as well as invoices after that one. When I called and asked why it was not getting paid, she sent angry letter saying we did this and that and she was holding money and having someone else put one in. We were never given chance to replace tree that was obviously out of warranty which we would of done despite that fact. She never mentioned to us the second time tree was dead or asked us to replace, she just held money above and beyond tree cost and we never got final payment on work that was not even related to job. I have the original letter she sent me as well as my response letter to her if I'm allowed to post. We replaced a total of 28 trees and shrubs for this client and she had issue with one tree. The dogwood tree that was there before we ever did work for her died. We replaced it with another tree, that tree died. We then at no cost to client replaced that one with another tree and that died unbeknownst to us. There was obviously a issue there with soil given 3 trees all died in same spot and the other 28 trees and shrubs had no problem. We did work for client for 6 years and often did free things such as weeding the beds when I was there to fertilize lawn area. After 6 years of work she holds onto 470.00 from invoice and does not mention dead tree to me or her want to replace it until I mention she owes money from unrelated invoice 7 months past due. Once I call her out on this she says oh yeah, we are unhappy and you owe us money to replace this tree and we will not pay all of that invoice. Please decide for yourself who was wrong-doer in this matter. Thank you for your time to read my long response.

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY ONE OF THE WORST CONTRACTOR EXPERIENCES I HAVE EVER HAD. IF THIS CONTRACTOR TRIES TO EXPLAIN IN A RESPONSE, PLEASE DO NOT TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION. HAD A SMALL JOB TO TAKE OUT A ROW OF PRIVET BUSHES IN BACK OF MY YARD. WE WALKED IN THE BACK OF YARD AND ALLEY TOGETHER AND AGREED WHAT WOULD NEED TO BE DONE AND A PRICE. MY MISTAKE WAS NOT BEING AT HOME WHEN THE WORK WAS DONE. MY HUSBAND WAS THERE IN THE MORNING AND HE LATER SAID MY HUSBAND TOLD HIM NOT TO RIP OUT A ROW OF BUSHES THAT WAS PART OF THE JOB THAT WE AGREED TO, WHICH WAS NOT THE CASE, MY HUSBAND SAID NOT TO GO BEYOND A CERTAIN POINT, DID NOT SAY TO NOT RIP THE BUSHES OUT. WHEN I CALLED HIM, HE GAVE ME THE RUN AROUND, BLAMED MY HUSBAND AND NOW HE HAS ALL OF THE MONEY FOR THE JOB OF WHICH HE DID HALF. HE ALSO SAID HE WOULD RIP OUT THE ROOTS OF THE BUSHES AND DID NOT DO SAME (EVEN THOUGH HE SCHEDULED THIS FOR RIGHT AFTER A LARGE RAIN FOR THAT SPECIFIC REASON THAT IT WOULD BE EASIER TO RIP THE ROOTS OUT). LESSON LEARNED - ALWAYS BE AT HOME WHEN CONTRACTORS ARE WORKING ON YOUR HOUSE EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO TAKE DAYS OFF WORK TO DO SAME. ALSO MY FAULT IN THAT I DID NOT GET A WRITTEN ESTIMATE , BUT THOUGHT I WOULD NOT NEED SAME B/C IT WAS SUCH A SMALL JOB.

Response from YANDLE'S YARDCARE
I was contacted by the woman for the job which was the removal of a privet hedge row to allow room for a fencing contractor to come in to install a fence. I promptly returned her call and showed up to look at the job. The job was not a large job coming in at only 300. and I gave her a verbal quote and she accepted. At this time I asked her how urgent getting the job done was and she said to do it within five weeks which I informed her would not be a problem. We had a heavy rainstorm and I told her we could come out the next day. She said she would not be available but that her husband would be which I told her would be great. She then called me back and told me he could only be available for a short time in morning so I purposely had my employee come in early to start the job with me early to make it convenient for them. We got there exactly when promised and I specifically asked for her husband to come out and look at hedge so I was certain where to remove it up to. Her husband came out and told us the back hedge was to be removed but not to touch the side in fear of it may be the neighbor's hedge on the side which shared the hedge. His exact words were to do to the left of the one post because he was not certain if it was their's or the neighbor's hedge. I did exactly what he told me to do. We even removed section of old fence to better remove parts of privet hedge. We did not touch any of side hedge due to husband's understandable fear of it possibly being the neighbor's shrubs. Later that evening she called me irate and said why did you not remove side bushes. I asked her to calm down and explained what her husband told us. She asked if I would like to speak to her husband and I told her yes I would be happy to. At this time I hear discusssion but she would not put him on and I never spoke to him. She then came back on more irate and said I should not of listened to him that he did not know what was going on. I told her I would come back this week to remove other shrubs if she would like for no cost. I told her two days that she could choose from and then I would come out and remove other shrubs. At this point, she hung up on me without saying a word. I tried to recall her right back and phone just rang for over a minute. I then again tried to recall her an hour later and she still did not pick up the phone and no message machine answered. If the customer get this, I am still happy to come back out and remove other shrubs for you. I understand that miscommunications happen and I told you I would come back, but you hung up on me. Please contact me if you would like me to come back out and as previously stated, I would be happy to do so in a timely manner.

We asked this provider to come out and take a look at our yard and provide us with some landscaping ideas. He did come out to our house and spend some time walking around the yard. He was supposed to follow-up with an estimate / plan for a project and we never heard anything else from him. We would definitely not recommend or contact him again.
Description of Work: Ultimately, there were no services performed.

Response from YANDLE'S YARDCARE
We were contacted by this member to come out and give some ideas on her landscaping as far as what could be done to improve the landscape as well as simplify things. As I walked around and made suggestions they stated they could or would be doing some of the work. When we perform our services we prefer to do all the work so that we are proud of the job when we leave. Sometimes when you leave the homeowner do certain aspects of the job they may be done incorrectly or not to the standards you would provide and it may look bad on you in that particular neighborhood with the people seeing the finished product not realizing you only performed certain parts of an overall landscape picture. We take great pride in our work and do not prefer to do only partial jobs. We like to do the entire job making sure every stage is done correct and properly. When I discovered they were more interested in doing a lot of the job themselves I offered to give them some designs at an hourly cost which I usually do not do but wanted to genuinely help them out with ideas to get them going. When I left the estimate which I spent a good amount of time with them for free giving them ideas I provided them with an idea of what it would cost for me to draw up some plans that they could work off of and I never heard from them again. It was my understanding that if they did want me to provide this for them that they would contact me and I never heard from them. When they set up the original estimate I was there for them the day promised at the exact minute of the estimate like I always strive to do for all estimates. I spent adequate time with them on the free consultation and left there thinking they would call me if interested and I never heard from them again. I am sadly shocked to see this left as a report given what I have done.

Description of Work: Jeremy cuts my lawn weekly and occasionally does yard clean up, etc. His estimate came in $9 less per week than another company. He is a knowledgeable, friendly and responsive gardener. When an electrical line that wasn't burieddeep enoughwas cut, he was willing to pay for an electrician to try to fix it (though the problem turned out to be a difficult one and I'm having to follow up on it myself). His crew is punctual and does good work.

Jeremy responded right away when I contacted him for an estimate. He sent me a written estimate that evening. We scheduled a time for him to do this work, which he was able to do. I had some special request related to the work, which he did exactly as requested. The work done was excellent. I am very pleased with the quality of work and the ease of working with Yandle's.
Description of Work: Yandle's cleaned beds in my yard, edged the beds and sidewalks and put mulch in the beds.
