They're very responsive to our needs. They worked with us. I like to try and maintain the yard myself, but it was getting to be a bit much. They were willing to work with me. Like when it came to blowing the leaves, I did as much as I could and then they would finish the project. They were flexible.
Description of Work: We used them all summer season to take care of our two acre lawn. They cost about $80 each visit, according to what they had performed.

The work was contracted at the beginning of April. Throughout April and May the crew made starts and stops (it was an unusually rainy spring). I ended up filling the pond myself during the periods they were absent. Finally, the work was completed in about a week. During this time, I tried to plant into the "4 yards of screened topsoil" used to fill the holes left by the preformed tubs and skimmer. What looked like lumps of soil waiting to be tilled were actually large lumps of yellow clay and rocks. I contacted the designer about this; she said it must have been delivered by mistake; I had received what was left in the bottom of the truck after previous deliveries (of "screened" topsoil to other customers?). They tilled in some peat moss and said that the clay lumps would break down after they worked in the peat. It had been pointed out to me earlier that they never use the coiled tubing already installed in my pond; that they would use the coil-less, heavier, anti-split tubing. Upon later inspection, I discovered that coiled tubing was indeed what they used. I began to replace my plants: after hitting rock at every dig, I discovered that the ground level (and below) of the waterfall was still there, just covered over with an inch or so of dirt. When questioned, they told me that hostas didn't need to be planted that deep anyway. There was a heavy rainstorm the night before the day the job was to be completed and the once-clear pond was now a mudhole--the "soil" area around the pond hadn't been graded to accommodate the new slope to the pond and the liner patching was cut too low, allowing mud to pour in between the rocks. The pond really needed to be pumped out again to remove the mud but instead, they rinsed off the lava rocks surrounding the pump and dumped a bottle of some dirt-settling agent and said it would be fine and I should rinse the lava rocks every so often. At my insistence, the crew worker came back the next day and dug a "swale" to divert the water, but at only a few inches deep and after a few more rains, it filled again with dirt. The only thing that kept me from complete insanity was the fact that the new waterfall looked really nice.
Description of Work: From contract: Pump out pond. Store fish and plants. Remove river stone from pond. Remove pump from skimmer; place opposite new waterfall by electrical gfi outlet. Remove skimmer, patch liner. Dismantle 2 preform pools, stream and waterfall. Backfill with 4 yards screened topsoil. Build 4.5-5' low waterfall. Fill pond.
