JOE GRAY HOME IMPROVEMENTS

Joe tore out the old kitchen and, cut a hole in the wall for a bar counter. The Kitchen looks amazing. Love sitting at the counter while my wife cooks in the kitchen. The craftsmanship is pure perfection. I have used Joe on several things and was extremely happy with his work. A true professional. You would be nuts to go anywhere else.

It went exceedingly well. As the job was originally hoped to be a lot less involved than it actually turned out to be as the original plumbing needed to be replaced for example, Joe communicated the changes needed from the original plans so that the best work could be done. Joe kept reminding us that we have to be happy with the work. Both my wife and I are very happy with the final look. Both bathrooms and the new family room are beautiful! We thank Joe, Rob and the rest of his associates for an excellent outcome and a more beautiful home.

Joe was an excellent choice to have as a contractor for our basement renovation. He always left the work space very neat and organized when stopping for the day, worked continuously only stopping briefly to eat lunch. He was easy to talk to about changes or specifics of the job, did excellent work and was willing to undertake tasks that he had never done before since we were requesting some “odd” things. He explained the pros and cons of our choices but the final decision was up to us. He always returned phone calls or texts promptly and was at our house at the times he said he would be. When he came to view the job initially he gave us a verbal ballpark estimate and then, after we agreed to have him do the work, emailed an itemized list of the work to be done. The ballpark estimate was on point with the written agreement and the only change in pricing at the end of the job was what was added/changed at our request. We now have 450 square feet of additional living space in our house and are thrilled with the finished product which was completed in a shorter amount of time than we expected. Joe is skilled in many areas of home repairs so there is no need to have multiple subcontractors other than doing the drywalling and he has used this specific group of men for years. To summarize, Joe was a pleasure to have in our home and we had no regrets about having him as our contractor.

They are very clean and neat. They kept the work area confined. He was very conscientious. He took everything down to the stud. It was gorgeous.

This work was for my mother's house and Joe was great with her. He was very respectful and professional. He explained all that needed to be done, price and when he could do it. He came when he said he would and when there was a problem with the 1 window, he called and kept me in the loop. The price was very reasonable, the work great. My mother is thrilled with the job. Joe did an outstanding job on all the tasks I asked him to perform. He obviously takes pride in his work, has excellent skills, and knows what he is doing. Joe will consult with you when he needs to and always was willing to give me a status update. I contacted Joe and he promptly returned my call. Joe came to my house within 2 days to give me an estimate for my kitchen. He had some great ideas, gave me some tips and was very professional. I contacted 2 other contractors who gave me estimates that were a bit lower than Joe, but I liked his demeaner and knowledge of his work. As they say you get what you pay for. From day 1 it was nice to come home and have the demo/remodeled areas cleaned by Joe. Joe suggested my husband and I go out and look at the things we liked so we could bring him samples and have an idea of what we liked. This saved us a lot of time on the project. The kitchen came out beautiful. We loved working with Joe and will be hiring him again for future projects.

Since moving into our home 3 years ago, finishing our basement has been high on our list of things to do. It was important for us to find someone knowledgeable, trustworthy, diligent, and respectful to us and our home. Joe is that and more. We reviewed many different contractors here on Angie’s List and met several in person. But once we met Joe Gray, we knew he was the right (and only) person for the job. I could still hear Joe say "You're the designer; I'm the installer" over and over again... Since we were new to designing basement layouts, we hired another company, as Joe insisted that this is done ahead of time. Once we had the design in our hands, the job began. From start to finish, he completed the job in 2.5 months. During our estimate, he told us it would take about 2 months, but considering the winter holidays and 1 or 2 snow days, that timeline was not bad at all. We ended up with exactly what we wanted: A beautiful, finished basement with a main area, full bath, bedroom, storage area. He is an expert framer and a perfectionist when it comes to painting. Recessed lighting was used throughout the main area and hallway. He also installed our light fixtures in the hallway and bathroom. He did a wonderful job installing our ceramic tile and laminate. He used subcontractors for the carpet (1 man), drywall (3 men) and egress window (1 man). What sets Joe apart from the other contractors, is his warm and sincere personality. He is very organized, and keeps everything amazingly neat. He didn't even seem to mind my weekly (sometimes daily) check-up calls. He tried his best to keep us under budget, but there were those unavoidable surprises that no one could foresee. The only area of improvement that I see is if Joe provided a written timeline of the project, as this would have helped us get our supplies in a more timely manner. Throughout the project, Joe respected our home and we truly appreciate all of the great work he did for us. We will definitely refer him to everyone we know and we look forward to calling him for more work in the future. A job VERY well done!

Joe did a really good job remodeling our bathroom. We are very pleased with the results. Joe also suggested alternative ways to update our shower/bath instead of ripping out. I have quit a few projects upcoming projects (big and small) and would love to work with Joe again.

I reached out to Joe Gray Home Improvement because I was frustrated with the big names (Lowes and Home Depot to be exact). Lowes did several jobs for me (carpet, bathroom repairs and more) and I experienced issues (i.e. bad installs) each time. I vowed never to use them again for a job. I heard great reviews about Angie?s List and decided to give them a try. I called/emailed a few contractors including Joe Gray. After reaching out by email, Joe contacted me within a day or two day. We arranged a time for him to come out and he showed up on time (actually earlier)! He emailed me an estimate within a week and I agreed to his services about two weeks later. There were no concerns with pricing. Joe told me upfront what he was covering in his estimate and what supplies I would have to cover (new toilet, vanity, floors, etc). Pretty straightforward. Joe started the job Feb 9th and finished on Feb 16th. It actually would have been less time, but we ran into a few minor issues ?rotted valves, I purchased the wrong faucet and my walls needed a lot of spackling which takes a couple of days to dry. I worked from home on day one of the job in case he had any questions for me but needed to go out to work the other days. I hate leaving contractors in my home alone for obvious reasons, but had no choice. I had no worries with Joe. He locked the doors behind him when finished and left the area clean. This was especially important because I have little ones that love to get into everything! After the job was completed, I noticed that the faucet handles were not aligned and I called Joe back right away. He came out on a Saturday to address the issue and we discovered it was not an issue with his work but the manufacturer. I was very surprised that Joe came out on a Saturday and appreciated this so that I wouldn?t have to take additional time off from work. The powder came turned out beautifully! I am very pleased with the results. Would I use or recommend Joe for future jobs? Absolutely! He's a very nice and genuine guy. He just gave me an estimate for our master bath and we will be getting that done later this year!

All the positive reviews about Joe Gray are accurate. Joe gutted and remodeled a laundry room and half-bath area for us. After coming faithfully every day for five weeks we had new walls, a new half bath, a new floor, new interior and exterior doors, new window, new lights. and new shelving. He did everything - electrical work, extensive plumbing, dry walling, painting, and, of course, the carpentry. His craftsmanship and pride in his work were impressive. Details were attended to with care, and the cost was reasonable. As an added bonus, Joe was very easy with which to work. He thought about our situation, made suggestions, went along with changes, and worked through challenges. He is also a very decent human being. We recommend him highly.

Never responded with a quote. I tried to contact him several times but never responded. Not even to say he was not interested. Totally unprofessional.

One bathroom casement window required replacement of the crank and worm gear mechanism using new Anderson parts. The other was a much more complicated problem. The house had settled and we could not open a double casement window in my daughter's bedroom. This was because of displacement of the stonework outside, warping the metal frame of the window. I had two previous very competent contractors and one major "renewal" company decline the job, but Joe handled the problem confidently and expertly, and was able to fit a new window which functions perfectly. We are totally pleased with the result.

Joe is good to work with, responsive and professional. He does nice work and I would hire again and recommend to others.

Joe helped pick out the perfect door to convert my dining room into a tasteful office with privacy. He was punctual, polite and returned daily until the job was done.
