Description of Work: We had problems with 3 garage doors not working properly and they diagnosed the problem and corrected it in 48 hours. They went above and beyond the problem and made sure everything was working properly and charged a very reasonable price.

Description of Work: My automatic garage door opener stopped operating one evening and I had to open and close it manually. The next morning it was working again, but I called Alan Conkling to request a service call, since it hadn't been serviced for several years. He told me that since it was working now, it would not be worth the $40 he'd have to charge me for a service call, and suggested what the problem might have been along with a possible solution (check the light sensors near the ground to see if they are still aligned correctly -- this is a safety mechanism that stops the garage door from operating if a pet or small child crosses the light beam when the garage door is closing). When I asked about a service call just for routine maintenance, he suggested that the only maintenance I needed was to spray WD-40 or silicon spray on the tracks, which was something I could do myself. Although he seemed a little curt (maybe he was busy), I was impressed by his honesty and unwillingness to charge me for something unnecesary. I had used him before several years ago when I had anothe problem with this same garage door. I was satisfed then, which is why I called this time.

Description of Work: Old garage dorr springs replaced, tracks lubricated, ancient hardware re-tweeked.

Description of Work: Tension spring broke on my garage door. I called and they came out the same day. He recommended replacing both springs for proper balancing and I needed a new cable due to fraying. He performed preventitive maintenance on our other garage door. All work was completed satisfactorliy for the price that he quoted.

Description of Work: Door was not opening. Solved the problem quickly.
