I cannot say enough wonderful things about this company. The owner himself answer the phone and was courteous and professional. He told me someone could actually come right out. When Jay showed up, he was also professional, prompt courteous and to the point. He looked at the opener diagnosed the problem immediately, and explained it to me in a matter of 20 seconds in a way that I could understand. He also told me exactly how much it would cost to fix the problem and had all parts he needed on his truck. Besides repairing it, he also lubricated the tracks and checked my other door to make sure it was alright as well. Jay and Alan Conklin Garage door had my door fixed 60 MINUTES AFTER I MADE THE PHONE CALL! Love this company! Thanks!

Great! He immediately identified that the wire connections were bad and fixed it within minutes. He also tightened all the screws in the door as many were loose. He did not try to sell me on additional work unlike the previous garage door company that I had come out to identify the problem this winter. They just changed all of the metal rollers to cheap plastic rollers thinking that that was the problem. I highly recommend Conklin as they are professional, and honest.

He was great about corresponding back, and did a good job. We had a little bit of a misunderstanding about the price, but we were able to work it out. I'm glad I called him and I would recommend him.

Fixed in one day. Price may seem high but it was for a custom made torsion spring for a very heavy solid wood garage door.

I couldn't believe how fast the service was. I called at 9:00 am and was told someone would be at my house before 10:00 am. Jay arrived before 10, listened to the garage door and knew exactly what the problem was. He explained my options and fixed the door in 20 mins. I made the call at 9:00 am and had a working garage door again by 10:20 am. I was just expecting to get something scheduled to have the door looked at later in the week, not to have the problem fixed in a little over an hour.

Called Alan on Saturday morning and a technician (Jay) was at the home by early afternoon. He replaced the spring, lubricated and was finished within 30 minutes. The price was very fair, under $300 bucks. Great service, communication, and punctuality. I would definitely call again for any garage service needs. Thanks!

Alan, Jay and John were on time for each appointment and I never felt like they were trying to unnecessarily upsell me. Jay laid out all the options and prices clearly. Alan and John did a great job on the install and Alan even saved me money by saying the extra piping around the door was unnecessary given the snug fit of the new door. Even though it was more than I intended to spend for the original repairs I am very satisfied with the new door system.

I like fixing things myself but don't mess with garage door springs. I'd been putting off replacing a controller board with one I'd purchased because the old one would work for months if I whacked it just right. I also had a sensor problem on a different door that would only close if I held down the house button. I called Monday afternoon and Mike came over Tuesday morning to replace two springs. He also swapped a controller board, and replaced sensors. No problem using the parts I'd purchased and not gotten around to installing. He was clearly confident and clear about what he was doing. He was very willing to discuss what he was doing even though he had a head cold at the time.

Excellent. Early morning emergency response within minutes in the middle of a snow storm. It can't get better. Repair done in less than 1 hour. John the technician was clear, effective and provided services needed. Mr. Conkling coordinated the service himself from initial call to the end of service follow up.

Things went very smoothly. I called them on Sunday afternoon and they were able to do the repair Monday morning which is awesome turn around. The tech John was able to secure the bracket back in with longer lag bolts, and made sure that they were secured to a stud.

I had used Alan Conkling Garage Door Repair once a few years before and I was very happy with their response, service and price. This time (three years later) the experience was the same. They showed up within 2 hours of my call. The tech, John was courteous and professional. He pointed out a potential problem (stretched spring) but said I didn't have to have it repaired at this time if I didn't want to. He replaced a broken cable and two heavy duty springs and repaired a section of the door that was damaged. All work was done in a little over an hour. I highly recommend them.

Service tech Tried to convinc me I needed a new garage door opener. Bad mouthed the brand I had. I told him to replace the trolley; they did and door worked fine. Struck me as a used car dealer trying to get more than necessary or a bait and switch con artist. Extremely unprofessional. Would not recommend the company to my worst enemy. Should not be promoted by Angie's List. Purchsed "The Big Deal" from Angie List for $112.50 (for $125.00 credit toward repairs). Was then charged the entire $128.95 repair billing by Alan Conklin Garage Door Service; thus paying double for an unsatisfactory job. To replace a $15.00 part My credit card was charged $241.45. When I complained to Angie's List about being double billed and requested a refund from them for a service not performed I was told I would have to deal directly with the repair company not with Angie's List. I am no longer an Angie List member. I can get reviews of businesses from Google or Yelp or many other free sites so I have no need for Angie's List who did not hold up their end of the agreement; they got my money and didn't help me in return. Easiest home improvement using a contractor I ever experienced. I called Mr. Conkling with garage door dimensions, type, and color. We arranged a date for him to stop by and see the door and take his own measurements. I was not home at the time. He called me with his suggestions, a quote on the replacement, credit card deposit and arranged the process once the door was available and he was able to install the door. He called me the night before he planned on installing the door. I came home from work that next day and the door was installed. The invoice was in the garage and Mr. Conklin called to make sure I was satisfied with the installation. Not only did he call right after the installation, but also followed up a few days later to make sure I was satisfied and the door was not having any issues. His work was excellent and I highly recommend Alan Conkling Garage Door Service.

The employee seemed to be a very nice guy. He apologized and said he would have to charge me $50 for the call. Which seemed fair, so I told him I had already paid $100.00 on Angies list. So I didn't have to pay the $50. We spoke briefly about a new garage door and he left me a brochure. I went back to work. Later on I received a call from the alarm company. Apparently the owner of the company walked into the garage and set the alarm off. N Now, I have him on camera. And it appears that his intentions were good. He wasn't snooping around at all. I just didn't appreciate him in the garage when no one was home.

Jay was the person that came out to do the work. He was very thorough and very friendly and knowledgeable about the project.

Perfectly! The person scheduling appointments was friendly and informative. I was able to get a same day appointment. The commutation was excellent and my problem was diagnosed and repaired within 10 minutes! I couldn't be more pleased!

Return lever was "crashing" against motor forcing the retaining bolts to come loose.He fixed the problem.

Called Alan C the day my garage door spring broke. his people came very next day on time at 9am. Fixed all items mentioned above in 45mins, put their sticker on my garage in case if I have to call them back. Total cost: 545 - 40 coupon = 505. Parts and labor has 5hrs warranty. Alan's people did a great job in fixing my garage door but I found the price to be on little higher side. I need to replace exact same things on my other garage door, i may call them. Not sure because repair cost is on higher side. Overall they did good job as they came in very next day and showed up on time and fixed garage door.
