Response from Alan Conkling Garage Door Service
I can''nt be leave he is saying this!! We showed up with the door cocked with the cable caught in between the track on one side the spring was broke [Member Name Removed] uncocked the door and fixed the cable and spring, The door ran perfect the owner said the opener was making a noise it did'nt make before. MY tech [Member Name Removed] could see a gear was warn and this was making the noise, we could not fix the problem and told her what a new opener would cost. the door ran perfect when not connected to the opener, we did not even touch the old opener.I talked to the owned that night and he told me he was running the door like this for at least 3 weeks, this is what made the opener make the noise he is talking about and also the opener was not broke it was running but was making a noise from running the door with broken spings for so long. A opener is not make to lift a door without springs the springs are what lifts the door not the opener. He also stopped the credit card charge and when the credit card company review the case -- he lost and the credit card co. rewarded me. It always nice when you hear the hold story The owner also told me he was having a problem with another garage door company with a problem with this opener he finally would not come back so for all i know this problem was always there?
