Alan answered phone on first try. Service was done next day. Was given an accurate 2 hour time window for arrival. Even arrived early! Original door I'd guess on 1960's house. Ancient parts were inspected and clearly worn parts were shown to me, mechanisms explained to me in basic terms and replaced. Was told how to preserve this wood door for a few more years. Parts seemed expensive, but given safety considerations, our above average daily use of our garage door and gained longevity delaying a major entire door replacement expense, it was well worth the refurbish. Took about 90 min. I feel confident that a good professional job was done and that I was fairly charged.

I called Conkling Garage Doors to repair my garage door after my daughter backed into it. They were courteous on the phone, promptly responded the next day, were on time and did quality work. Repair cost was given to me prior to start of work and was what I expected. Technician was very professional and completed the job in an hour. I will use again in the future.

They answered the call promptly, came out on time and finished quickly. I like that he left a small sticker with their business phone number on the door. Now Idon't have to search for the number!

They were very good. They were very professional and they worked around my schedule. They confirmed twice so I knew exactly when they were coming. They did the work in the time they allotted. So far everything is working fine. I would have liked to have paid less but their price was average.

Outstanding service and dependablity. My garage door motor just buzzed when I pressed the button. I called Alan Conkling and left a voicemail. This is the first time I called them. He called back within 10 minutes. He scheduled an appointment. He called on his way and showed up on time. He performed an inexpensive fix when he probably could have hustled me for a new motor. I paid what I expected. You just don't find this kind of attitude and service these days.

A spring on (1) of my garage doors broke. My house is 15 years old. Not having the time to repair myself, I called Alan Conkling. I was told that there is a mandatory $39.00 charge just for showing up. (that is waived is service is purchased). The technician arrived the next day as scheduled. After inspection, of my doors, he recommended to replace all cables, pulleys and springs on both doors and that it will cost $700.00. I felt that this is a very high price, as we are only talking about cables, pulleys and springs here. I knew I could do the job myself for approx $200.00 but didn't have the time. It took him about an hour to replace the parts and complete the job. The garage doors are working. While I was considering completing the job, the technician offered to replace each garage door with a new door along with all new cables, pulleys, springs and tracks for $900.00. There was nothing wrong with my doors. This is a pressure tactic, to get you to but new doors, instead of repairing your existing door. The repair price is inflated and then offer to replace.

I was very satisfied with the service. This fall I'm planning to have the house repainted, and at that time I am considering replacing both of my garage doors. Although John did suggest further work on the doors, he was very understanding and supportive when I said that I wanted to wait until after I had the house painted to make decisions about the doors. He provided me with a brochure on a new garage door, and a rough estimate of what the approximate price would be. He was very helpful, polite, and efficient. Thanks for a great service. I would call them again.

They showed up on time. They called when the door was ready and called for installation. They did what they needed to do and they scooted. It was that easy.

I had a garage door that wouldn't close so I needed service quickly. I called at 8AM, repair man arrived before 9 and the work was done by 10. He showed me how the rollers were worn, the door being 11 years old. He recommended that they be replaced and I took his suggestion. The repair is perfect and I couldn't be more pleased.

Arrived home from work on a Thursday, two days before we were to leave on vacation, to find that garage door wouldn't open. Called Alan Conkling and within an hour, Mike was there to fix the door. He got it to work and then returned ten days later after we got home from our trip to rebuild the door, replacing worn and broken parts.

One of the springs on my garage door broke. I contacted Alan for the repair. His estimate was ~$40 for the service call and ~$70 for the spring repair. I was going out of town so was not available when Alan showed up to repair the garage door. My wife was home and dealt with Alan. When I got home the broken spring was repaired and the remaining good spring was replaced. My garage door was "lubricated and tuned up". Total price was $321. I felt like he took advantage of the situation and "upsold" my wife on the repair that was needed. I will not use Alan in the future.

One of the cables on my garage door had broken and the door was difficult to open. The motor would trip out because of the extra load. I called late Friday, and Conklins came early Saturday morning. They replaced the door hardware(pulleys, rollers, springs, and cables)and checked the motor to make sure it wasn't damaged. The cost was as agreed, the scope of work as agreed, and professionally done. My old garage door functions perfectly, and is much quieter than it used to be. I am completely satisfied with their work. I am a construction professional, and had done my own estimate for the work. Conklin's estimate came in within a few dollars of my estimate, so I know I was not overcharged.

I called after garage door spring broke around mid-day. Al answered immediately and said he would send someone right away. They had to wait around for me to get home, then finished everything same day. Probably a little more than I was hoping to pay, but it usually is. Overall, I was happy with the experience.

When your garage door gets stuck halfway open at 7:30 at night with both cars trapped inside it's definitely time to hit Angie's List for a good repair company. We chose Alan Conkling Garage Door Service because they have emergency service hours. But then we decided not to pay the extra fee for that and opted instead for an early morning appointment. The repairman was right on time and totally professional. He assessed the situation, gave us an estimate and once we okayed it, went to work. He said it would take about an hour and he was spot on. Great job. The garage door doesn't shimmy, shake or screech anymore. It opens smooth as silk and we're thrilled. Would highly recommend this company.

They should have realized it needed replaced on the first visit instead of charging for a repair and then a replacement with no credit towards the new opener. I was not very not very with them because of this but the opener works fine.

I received a call back the same day that I called. We scheduled an appointment for the following morning. The technician was @ 1 1/2 hrs. late arriving, which was the only negative of my experience. However, the owner already had called me even before the scheduled time and informed me that his technician would be late. He offered to reschedule for Saturday, which was very considerate. Mike, the technician, patiently explained why I should replace each item, and at my request, he gave me a cost estimate for replacing just the gear, the gear and the springs and all three items. He gave me time to think about it without pressuring or overselling, which I appreciated. He performed the repairs quickly and efficiently. Afterwards he explained how I was to check and perform monthly maintenance on the door. When the door was not closing to his satisfaction, he made additional adjustments and even replaced an adjustment lever at no charge. I was pleased and did not feel overcharged.

I called the morning of New Year's Eve because a spring had broken. They were very responsive. Mark called half an hour before he expected to arrive and completed all the work in an hour. It was done by 12:30 the same day. The door operates much smoother and quieter now. I would definitely call them again.

It was great. Mike was the technician, he could not have been more efficient, friendly, helpful, etc. I would definitely call the company again.
