Clean Sweep Chimney Service

The overall experience was great. Gerry responded to my call the same day, he was on time to the appointment made, was very neat within my house, and took the time to educate me on the fireplace insert since this is my first winter in the home. I have already referred Clean Sweep to others and will certainly call them back next year.

This was an absolute fairy tale experience! I called late morning to arrange an appointment. The lady who answered the phone said that Gerry was in my town today so she would call him and tell him that I wanted my chimney swept. She said he might be able to come and look at it today, or if not, he would call me tonight. I thought that was great! Sure enough, he called about an hour or so later and said he would come look at it. He did, and not only did he look at it - he actually cleaned it!!!!! When do we ever get such service?!? From initial call to job completion in 4 hours or less! Not a speck of ash or dust in my house or yard. As a matter of fact, when the job was done he inspected the inside and saw something that he thought could be done better, so they came in and cleaned something (I think the damper) more!. There was not a moment of wasted time. I will DEFINATELY use Clean Sweep services again, and recommend them to anyone with a fireplace!!!

The house was built in 1945/46 and the fireplace and chimney needed extensive work; Gerry came out and gave us an estimate we thought was fair for the work to be done. He rebuilt the firebox, cleaned the chimney, put a new lining and cap in, repaired the flue, and repaired the exterior of the chimney. He did an amazing job and was professional, prompt, cleaned it all up and was very nice. We would definitely recommend him (and have) and will call him again when it's time to clean the chimney.

We called 4 contractors. No one would come to look at the chimney because it was too small of a job. Gerry said he had 2 large jobs he was doing, but that he would stop over in next couple of days to take a look. He did stop over 1 day after the call. He was very calm. There were 2 people. He offerred a couple of suggestions on other things to watch out for in the chimney and roof - not pushing to do repairs, just a watch out for this kind of thing. For example, he told us not to burn our fires too hot because the fireplace is an inset, it is not a masonry fire place. Gerry and his co-worker climbed up to the chimney a few times - about 50 feet in the air. He made an effort to come down and get sealant to put around the panel. I cant check his work, but he seemed to take his time making sure the panel fit well. He also took the top off the chimney, and came in and inspected the fire box. His price was very reasonable. The only 2 things I didnt like, he didnt tell me cost or even est until job was over. He didnt offer to replace the sheet metal, he reused the old piece. It was in fair shape - and given how hard to get anyone to show up I wasnt going to argue.
