Description of Work: I called their local number to ask about a replacement water heater. A man answered; I could not hear what he said, and asked him who he was. He answered "Well, we can both count to three". He then said "one, two,..." and he hung up on three. Never encountered such bizarre behavior from a company before. I thought that I had perhaps mis-dialed, so I called another listing number for the same company, and heard the same voice. This time, I heard "Suburban", but nothing identifying as a plumber or a water heater service. I asked who he was, and he refused to give a name. I asked again, and he again refused to identify himself, saying that I could be a telemarketer. So they won't be receiving any more calls from me. I still do not know if the man who answered was the proprietor, or an answering service for this company. However, his conduct and manners were frankly bizarre. I would not want to have to call with a real emergency, or to ask for service on their installation, judging by this gross lack of telephone etiquette.

 + -1 moreI contacted Suburban via phone regarding possible issues with our hot water heater. After providing our current water heater info, they recognized our heater as a unit involved with a recall that had since expired. They suggested a replacement unit. A quote was provided over the phone. We were not in an emergency situation, however we were able to schedule an install for that week. The technician arrived on time and the installation was completed within a couple of hours. The tech left the area clean and the old unit was removed. We also received a free drip pan and water alarm with the Angie's List coupon.
Description of Work: Replaced gas hot water heater.

 + -1 moreReturned my call 2 days after I left a message, and when I explained that we'd decided we didn't need anything right now, hung up on me! I suspect we'll be seeking someone to put in a new water heater sometime in the next few months, but this is NOT where I'll be calling then.

 + -1 moreExcellent response on an emergency call. Most impressed with the technician's attempt to talk me through several possible ''fixes'' to avoid the service call. When all else failed, a service call was required and during the visit the technician went over some basic maintenance to get the best performance from the unit.
Description of Work: Replaced sensor on gas hot water heater.
