Description of Work: Despite the name, they both remove and install oil tanks. Got 3 estimates, 2 were 20% below the other. Went with this co. because of the reviews on Angie's, no regrets. Did the job quickly, neatly, and without a hitch.

I priced it with two other companies and he was right in line. The amount I entered above is a guess so don't go by it.

Outstanding job. Tim Spillane, owner, arrived with his two coworkers ten minutes early. Laid drop cloths everywhere. Went about their business promptly and professionally. Not one droip of oil or any mess. Finished within 1 1/2 hours. Complete customer satisfaction. Would recommend to anyone.

Mr. Spillane of PA Tank Removal returned my call; we discussed the project and setting, cost, scheduling, licenses/insurance. Mr. Spillane promptly provided a written estimate and had his agent provide proof of insurance. I then retained him. The evening before the scheduled date, Mr. Splllane called to confirm for the next day. On the day of the job, Mr. Spillane was delayed about 15 minutes with an emergency but called to let me know; then, he and his crew arrived, emptied the tank of oil, dismantled the tank so he would not have to take it through the house, plugged all openings, and left the area in good condition. They did not spill anything. As I happen to be curious about how things are done, Mr. Spillane explained the project to me as it was being done. It was indeed a pleasure to hire Pa Tank Removal for the job. The job went smoothly and quickly. Thanks.

Description of Work: We used this company to install two Roth heating oil tanks in the basement. it became clear that the installer was not as familiar with tank installation because the initial piping design did not work. The owners expertise was in tank removal. To their credit, he came back and redid the piping the next day and was punctual. I have given an average score for professionalism because the owner started whining as soon as a soon as he started the work saying that he had underpriced the job. I was alarmed at this turn of events since the new tanks had arrived and offered him a bonus being the difference between his quote and the next higher one if I was satisfied with the job. The tanks are working well to date. I wish him well and hope he improves in his professionalism.

I originally reached out to PA Tank Removal in early October. I received a call from the owner, Timothy Spillane , within 24 hours and we talked about my job. He was going to be in my area in the near future, so we agreed he would come by to give an estimate. On the day of the estimate, Timothy arrived at the scheduled time and looked over the job. The old tank had a fiberglass patch that looked like it was about to give and the feed line from that tank was pinched and run under the basement floor. I would need a new tank and a new line. He was able to give me an estimate on the spot and said he was email the written estimate that evening which he did. The price was in line with other quotes I received but I went with PA Tank Removal due to Timothy's responsiveness. I finally signed the estimate in early November and we scheduled the job for 2 weeks later. The night before, Timothy called me to confirm and gave me an arrival time. Come the next morning Timothy and his 2 man crew were at my door right on time. They set out to laying own canvas to protect my home's carpet and stairs. I got out of their way and let them get to work. Within 3.5 hours, they had pumped the oil out, removed and cut up the old tank, installed the new tank, sealed the old line, installed the new line and tested everything. Timothy and his crew were very professional throughout the process, always taking care. Timothy and I spoke about the house and other projects I was planning. Since I am first time homeowner, Timothy pointed out some things I want to watch out for and provided me with advice. He also did this during the estimate. Even though these projects were something his company can do, he never pushed this on me, instead he just gave me the advice, which was greatly appreciated. Overall, I was thrilled with whole experience. I felt like I was working with company that has competitive prices, takes pride in their work and provides excellent customer service. I trust the team at PA Tank Removal and Timothy, in particular. While I may not need a new oil tank anytime soon (i hope), I will reach out to Timothy for other projects I have in the future.
Description of Work: Remove and scrap old oil tank, install new oil tank , transfer 200 gallons of oil from the old tank to the new tank and run an overhead line to furnace.

Timothy was able to give me a quote on the phone and schedule the work in the time frame I needed. The crew arrived later in the day than originally scheduled, but Timothy did keep me informed as to the delay and the estimated time of arrival. He and his workmen took exceptional care to tarp a newly installed carpet, remove and safely set aside newly painted closet doors that were in the way of taking the tank from the crawlspace, and to thoroughly clean up after the tank was removed.
Description of Work: Oil tank in crawl space was drained, cut up and removed. Unusable oil was hauled away.

Contacted Tim a couple of weeks ago to get an estimate. He gave me an estimate over the phone, and I was able to schedule the work for a day that I knew I was going to be home from work. Tim called to confirm the night before our scheduled date, and showed up within the time window that he provided. The oil tank was drained of about 80 gallons of oil, then cut into pieces and removed through the basement hatch. They were in and out within two hours, and they left the area of the basement cleaner than it was before the work was done. I was dreading having this done, I thought it would be a mess but it was very painless.
Description of Work: Unused oil tank that was partially filled was drained and removed from basement.

Tim was great to work with. He and the crew arrived on time and were very professional. They transferred the heating oil to barrels, removed the old tank, installed the new tank, replaced the fuel line to the furnace, relocated the filter to a more accessible location. and then transferred the oil back. Immaculate clean up. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company.

I can highly recommend this company. They arrived on time, completed the work cleanly and efficiently. It turned out that my oil tank was shaped differently than is common and involved more work to drain, clean and remove, but Timothy Spillane (the owner) did not charge me more than the original quote.
Description of Work: I hired them to drain and remove my big, old oil tank because I converted my heating to gas.

The process went great and went smoothly from start to finish. PA Tank was easy to communicate with by phone and email to schedule an appointment. An on-site estimate wasn't necessary because PA Tank specializes in doing this work so they already know what to expect and how long the job takes. Once scheduled, the crew arrived on time and did a great job protecting my home from oil by putting down a rubber floor covering. The crew worked diligently and efficiently and accomplished the job in about an hour as promised. They also cleaned up before leaving. Great Job A+.
Description of Work: PA Tank removed an old unused 275 gallon oil tank from our basement. The process included pumping out residual oil and cutting the tank into 3-4 pieces so that it could easily be removed from our home.

Description of Work: I used this firm to install two indoor heating oil tanks. The quote was the best but not by much. On the day of the install the proprietor walked in and right away started complaining that he had underbid the job which I believe was unprofessional. After installation we realized that the piping of the tanks was faulty and the proprietor had to return to redo the piping job which he did as promised and to his credit. Overall I was satisfied with the final result and the price and have rated the service as a B.

Response from PA Tank Removal
I do remember talking about the price of the job with your husband. Was trying to get feedback to see where I made a mistake from the other bids. I miscalculated on the material and some labor. Then I said “we all learn from our mistakes”. I don’t remember complaining but, just being upset. I'm sorry it went over that way. I believe the job went smoothly and the final result was great. BTW, Thank you both for the tip at the end of the job it was greatly appreciated.

Followed through promptly with telephone contacts and work completion over a two-day period; performed a quality job with tank removal and space conversion into a storage closet, including necessary electrical tasks for a working light and door installation for access to the closet. Great cleanup work.
Description of Work: Removed oil tank (since we were converting to gas) and converted remaining space into a storage closet; also patched up deteriorating (wood) areas around the garage
