The repair process was extensive. They didn't just inject some epoxy into the cracks and hope for the best like some other firms that I've used. They used a three step system of packing the cracks, covering them with some type of rubberized compound, and then also digging below the slab so that if there were any other issues the water would go under the slab to the sump. So far no water problems. They also took steps to protect my rugs and cleaned-up very well afterwards. Good job.

The job went very well. They were there ahead of schedule and finished the job the same day. I was impressed with their work and clean up.They clean up very thing, there was no dirt or scrap left behind. A.J. himself was on site to supervise the entire job. He explained every detail of the job, and answered all my questions and concerns.

Aj spoke with me on the phone and after explaining my situation he said I might not need waterproofing and explained some steps to assess if I needed waterproofing and advised me to be careful not to get something I did not need. He spent the time on the phone to explain me and was honest.

AJ was easy to schedule, came on time and installed the backup pump in about 2 hours. He then explained how it worked and everything is fine so far.

They have been very helpful and very good. They were very prompt in returning my phone calls, giving me a quote and following up. I don’t know yet, so far, so good. They were courteous.

It was very competitive. Overall, it was really good, very smooth. I didn't feel like he was trying to sell me or scare me on anything. It was very straightforward. He was very knowledgeable, he explained the whole process from start to finish, he gave us a very reasonable start time and he was able to quote us how much time, the start fee, how much money, all that during the initial consult. We asked for an email with everything he said during the consult and we got that almost immediately.

AJ responded to my inquiry promptly and came out the next day. I was in a pinch as I was trying to sell my house but was having trouble eradicating a new standing water problem. He came out and felt that the water was probably from a combination of factors but would likely keep recurring unless I invested a lot of money to eradicate all those problems. He proposed a sump pump to deal with the immediate issue given that he felt it would be difficult to completely get rid of all the water. We opted for the sump pump and he was able to get his crew there the next day and have the job done in 1 day. We have had no more water issues since!

We had suffered a flood in our finished basement previously and wanted to address the problem to prevent future issues. AJ diagnosed our problem, and we were able to schedule work within the week. His crew did an awesome job, finished the work in one day, left everything clean, and showed us a test of how everything was working. We very impressed with the work, After a wet season w/ tons of snow and rain, we have had a dry basement for the past 7 months thanks to AJ's work.

The installation team did a fantastic job. They were ;prompt and cleaned up everything. It was one of the coldest days of the year but that did not deter them one bit. AJ personally demonstrated how the back up pump would work. We have since had torrential downpours and inches of rain at one time - and the system has worked perfectly. Great Job and has ;passed the monsoons of this past sping!

AJ was early for our initial appointment. He took his time reviewing all of the potential issues that could have been contributing to our water problem. He offered very competitive pricing and quick resolution. Two days after our consult his crew was on the job. His crew was great. They worked hard and were efficient. AJ was willing to discuss and explain everything that his crew doing to resolve the issue. Bottom line: We have had two significant rains since AJ's crew was here and not a single drop of water in the house. I would recommend AJ and his crew to anyone.

We had incredible amounts of rain since he did the job and not one drop of water--without question- the amount of rain we had would have flooded the basement. Background: water leaked into the well of our cellar door. After spending lots of money on drains, caulking, patching, regrading, and waterpoof painting, we finally gave up and called in a pro. I wish we had done so years ago. AJ's immediately knew where the problem was (something we struggled to clearly identify). After so many years of trial and error, I was skeptical that this was fixable without replacing the entire door and concrete well. I was wrong and happy to be so!. They found the problem --which was at the floor of the concrete pad. They dug took out the concrete, installed a French drain all around and then installed a Sump pump inside the house to pump out any water. His team was quick and professional. I would Highly Recommend AJ's Waterproofing. Note: I"m not certain of the price, as my father paid the bill, but think I'm close to the amount, it was worth every penny.

First Project was a water-powered backup sump pump, which if you have not yet considered is a worthwhile investment as you don't have to worry about testing/replacing the battery all the time. It never fails that when you get that big rain the battery is suddenly dead. This job was done the same day I called-him and has worked well when my primary sump failed. Second project was revising my faulty french drain (the prior system installed by many owners ago was faulty). His estimate was fair and he did not try to upsell me on things that I did not need the way that other outfits do, no scare tactics or B.S. I felt he gave me an honest opinion and a fair price. The work was prompt, professional, and the team did both projects on schedule and left the basement and my house extremely clean. We just had a huge rain yesterday and the french drain worked beautifully and my basement remained dry, so seems to have rectified my issue. AJ is an amazing professional. On very short notice the initial visit was scheduled by the office. He arrived promptly and knew immediatly what was needed to do providing a quote AND scheduling right on the spot which is what I needed. He was able to work under the pressures of other contractors and made every accommodation needed without making it seem like it was a big deal. A pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend!

The work itself went surprisingly well--AJ's workers were prompt and polite, very efficient and effective. The job, wh/ was quite extensive, was done quickly, and they cleaned the site each day and left my basement looking great. The problem has been since then: the sealer on the walls began cracking within a couple of months (work was done in late August, and had a hand-sized blister/crack by Oct). I contacted AJ about this in late 2013 and again in Jan 2014, both by phone and email, and got no response. I think the work was good, and my basement has been blessedly dry despite the heavy rains this winter/spring, but I wish I'd been prepared for the cracking and had had some follow up. I still think this is the best solution rather than putting sheeting over the walls or other methods I explored, wh/ can result in mold, but obviously the sealant is not a simple or maintenance-free answer either.

He did some waterproofing in my basement last June. So far the basement has been fine and the sump pump is working great, but the backup battery has failed. It is however under warrenty, so I am calling him to have him come back out to take look at it.

AJ's assessment was thorough and helpful. All my questions were answered completely which helped in making a decision on what work to proceed with. Installation day went like clockwork. AJ's crew was spot on time starting and completing the work and meticulous in protecting the work site and sealing off the perimeter from dust and debris escaping. In the end, a quick round of wiping hard surfaces and vacuuming for dust escaping through the air vents in the house was all that was required on my part. The crew did not miss a beat dealing with my extra sturdy basement slab that was as thick as 8-9" at the edge and required cutting through tile in one section. I appreciated that the team left a clean edge on the existing floor tile that was virtually chip free. Where the exhaust pipe was tied into the gutter the team was careful to complete the work with minimal disturbance to the landscape. I appreciated having the benefit of a crew chief who has been working with AJ for more than 10 years and also that AJ himself came out for the assessment, site setup, and progress check during the course of the installation. Last but not least - I have been freed from mopping and bailing during heavy rains and everything is working as expected.

I called AJ on a Friday evening asking questions about crawl space encapsulation. I inquiry about the process and cost because of a property I am to purchase. He was nice enough to explain how is done and also provide an rough estimate. I will hire him for the project if I ended up purchasing the property.

The visit with AJ Waterproofing went very well. It was obvious that the man was very knowledgeable about moisture getting into homes. In addition, AJ was very courteous and very helpful in explaining the situation. He also has excellent staff working with him. The girl with whom I spoke over the phone was a gem!!

I picked AJ based upon Angie's list reviews. He came out to my house on time. The first time that day we scheduled did not work for him, but he called me to tell me he needed to change the time which I appreciated. I had water coming into my basement at the floor level right under the basement window each time it rained. He looked both in my basement and outside at the side of my house. His first inclination was that there is a crack in the foundation on one or the other side of the window causing the leak. He recommended digging down to the footers and examining the foundation for cracks. He happened to be available the very next day, and I had him start right away as I had been waiting all winter for the ground to thaw for this to be repaired. He brought (3) men to dig. Sure enough, there was a crack. They repaired the crack and refilled the hole with additional soil he brought, along with what I had. Then, they took some decorative river rock that I had and placed it on top of the compacted soil. They pitched the ground so the water would run away from my house. This past weekend we had 2 1/2 inches of rain and NO water! Very happy...

They were very efficient and they got it done really easily. The only concern I have is that I had a plumber come to replace my hot water heater and he said that the copper piping that they put in was only a quarter inch and it must be one inch.

I recently contracted an interior basement waterproofing job with AJ. My wife & I just bought a foreclosure and within 2 weeks of moving in our basement flooded with 30" of water. Our Bilco entry walls had deteriorated and water push 2 big holes through soft spots it found and in a short time frame, rose to 30". Our newly installed hot water heater and HVAC units were ruined. Our budget had taken a huge, unexpected hit. We called about 7 contractors for bids. AJ was our last bid that we set up. We explained to him our situation and our budget constraints. We also spoke about the importance of how fast this needed to be done to protect what is basically the lifeline of our home. AJ understood our situation & worked with us on setting up a payment plan, He told us not to stress about the money, he'll get the basement done, and everything will work out. He didn't know us from Adam, but he was the only one willing to take us for our word that we would pay him within a reasonable timeframe. He was willing to begin work that day but we told him to hold off for 2 days so we could have our water heater & HVAC units ordered and re-installed (again!). The work we needed done was 100' of interior French drain installed, new/relocated pump well, water pressure backup system, 2 outdated brick walls & fireplace removed, tile floor removed, our Bilco entry filled in and sealed, & 2 windows replaced. AJ gave us a timeframe of 3 days for everything & he completed everything in exactly 3 days. I couldn't believe how fast him and his crew were. The basement looks great, We can now live stress free knowing that our basement is updated and modernized & no longer have to worry about basement flooding & ruining our home. Everything AJ said he would do he delivered on. We highly recommend using AJ for your basement needs. Thank you for everything AJ.

I could tell customer satisfaction is very important to AJ. He was at my house for a job shortly after reading a semi-negative review from a customer, based entirely on payment, and I could tell he was very upset by it. I just read the review that I assume he was talking about, and I want to state that I had exactly the opposite experience with AJ, and I just used his company for the 3rd time last week. For an unexpected project done last Fall (a cracked exterior drainage pipe which caused a leak and some mold in the basement), AJ was very accommodating with the payment, asking for only a portion of the payment upon completion and letting me pay the balance over the next 4 months, since I was financially strapped at the time. His flexibility and understanding with the payment is one of the reasons I chose his company. Overall, I highly recommend AJ Waterproofing. As mentioned above I just used his company for the 3rd time last week. He seemed very knowledgable about the work that needed to be done, and the work his company did was thorough, very clean, and solved the basement/water issues I was having. His estimates were better than most I received, and overall I feel like I got a good value for the money spent. Again, highly recommended.

I am a very thorough person who typically do a lot of research before hiring someone. AJ was the seventh provider that I called. He came in right on time, did not just look at the wet spot, but put up the carpet and carefully examined the situation in the whole basement. His explanation of the water problem was different from other providers, but is very clear and logic. I am an engineer and i know his explanation was correct. He did not offer the lowest price, but I ended up hiring him to do the job. I am very satisfied with the job that they did in my basement. his guys came in early in the morning, and immediately covered everything and isolated the working area from upstairs. they worked very efficiently and took care of all the details. they very very nice and answered all of my questions. After the job, they cleaned up everything, and the next day, his handyman came in and finished the painting. my basement looks great now, even better than before. AJ is a very honest person, he is very straightforward, but I appreciate his sincerity. He is a happy person and I really enjoyed communicating with him. I actually have recommended him to several of my friends. what a nice experience.
