SECHRIST CONSTRUCTION

It took nine months to build a 12 x 14 addition, new roof and side only the front of house. We have 2 leaks in roof one in each of the dormers, dormers were not properly flashed & caulked around windows, shingles were not overhung over the drip edge which caused the rain to run behind the gutters, gutters were ran uphill 2 inches to the downspout, so any water that was collected in the gutter never made it to the downspout. They cut 3 holes down through the upstairs ceiling. The addition was over an inch out of square and out of plumb, which made it extremely difficult to install door trim and baseboard. Siding was installed before door was, door ended up being over an inch narrower, so they tried to cover that up by sliding the siding over, ended up with siding popping out of j channel. They ran out of material ( zip roof sheeting ) half way through the job so had to buy more out of pocket even though we had a signed contract with a bid price, then I paid them $26.00 to run and get enough to do the job, so same material was purchased 3 times over. The walls in the addition were supposed to be 5/8 drywall, but 1/2 inch was installed. They did not know how to install laminate flooring, we were left on our own to figure out how to install a transition trim between the old section of house and new addition, threshold to adjoining room was over an inch off. Concrete floor in crawlspace was over 2 inches off level ran towards house. Corners of siding off an inch and 3/4 from side to side. Everything that was wrapped with coil stock is scratched, dented and popping out. Crawl space was to be dug 48 inches was only dug 19 inches, my husband had to dig the rest by himself by hand. Ninety percent of the electrical work was performed by 20 year old kid that was employed by Sechrist and he didn't know what he was doing, the ceiling light would not turn on at switch and he tried to run 12/2 wire and 14/3 wire on the same breaker.
