GREAT!! We were just about to put our house on the market, so it was crucial that the carpets looked good. They were very thorough, took their time and got stains out that had been in the carpet (pet stains) for many years (that we had tried many times to get out with rented 'grocery store carpet cleaners.' Now, a month later, the stains have NOT come back, we are AMAZED!! In addition, when I asked what to do if we get any new stains now going forward, Vic told me about this great solution they sell at their shop in Coatesville and then GAVE me a sample to try and it's been MIRACULOUS!! I highly recommend it! I will personally drive out there to get it when I run out to get more, it is THAT effective! Overall, we are VERY pleased and would use them again and recommend them as well!

Vic worked with us to provide color options and explained the process. Dyeing the color of residential carpet is not very widely available in our area, but he was able to provide a pretty clear picture of how the process works. Vic and his team then came over three days (there was very cold weather involved and some mechanical setbacks, but they worked long hours to make sure it was done right). The carpets were first thoroughly cleaned, then dyed. The change was dramatic in the best way. We went from sea foam green to a nice gray. No hidden charges and very straight forward. Definitely cheaper than buying new carpet and without all of the chemicals that come with it. Very pleased with the result.
Description of Work: Vic and his team dyed about 1000 sq feet of carpet in our house.

I was stunned at the price he charged. I had used him before and his work is excellent. He charged around $1,000 to clean and stretch the carpet in 2 rooms and just clean the carpets in family room and steps. I never expected to be charged $848 for only one room and steps...I would make sure I got an estimate.

Response from Vic's Carpet Dry Cleaners & Dyers
In response to Mrs [member name removed] claims about our price. Not sure if she read her invoice correctly. We not only cleaned her stairs and family room that were off white carpets, we also needed to treat them with stain treatments, like Benefact, Micro ban, Deodorizer, Enzyme Digesters, Urine Pre-Conditioner, and an Acidic bath for the pet stains throughtout her carpets, along with some discolorations. We also DRY CLEANED two chairs and two ottomans, since her grandson had spilled liquid on the pieces. The price that was charged was fair for the amount of work and chemicals that were used to make her carpets and upholstery look almost new again. What's upsetting about this, is that instead of calling my office and asking to speak to me to explain all of what was done, Mrs [member name removed] felt it necessary to write something derogatory about my company when all she had to do was read her invoice that was left for her because when she sent her payment in, she also sent back the invoice explaining all that was done. So the charge was not just for one room and steps, but also pet treatments, and Upholstery Cleaning.

ously Service Provider has cleaned my carpets for over 10 years. I have recommended him to many friends while always adding that he is pricey but the quality is superb. Recently within the last two years, Vic has begun to overcharge and quality of service is most definitely below his normal excellent quality. Recently, Vic assisted us in cleaning out our basement which incurred some water damage due to a failure of a sump pump. We caught the problem quickly and the water just soaked through the rugs. We had padding under the rug so this caused the need to cut and remove the rugs. Vic worked hard but so did we along with an additional employee of Vic. We were unable to recoup any losses through insurance since the fine print excluded sump pumps and the Insurer failed to alert us to a purchase of an additional rider to our insurance policy. Learning this after Vic had completed the job and having paid the full amount, I called Vic to question whether he charged the full amount with no discounts if the insurance company had declined our claim. Vic responded that yes this was the real amount. My husband wrote a letter to Vic bringing this to his attention again and reminding Vic that we were long standing customers and Vic should do the right thing. I called competitors in cleaning up such tragic incidents to get an estimate of what charges could be. After many answered questions they gave me as low as $1500 or as high as $2500. This is a difference of $1200. Finally I decided to call Vic and explain that while he is pricey and does good work, I felt cheated and lost faith in a long time service provider. It was my idea to make up the difference with some carpet cleaning of two rooms, 1hallway, 1set of stairs and two small area rugs. I felt like I had prepaid for the rug cleaning. Vic agreed reluctantly and gave me a date for service. The day of the service, he called to say his truck broke down and his wife Terry would have to reschedule. It has been one week and there are no calls to reschedule. As a matter of fact Vic's Carpets claims that their truck is still in shop. Other people have called to make appointments. They have gotten appointments to get their carpets cleaned as we speak. It sounds like they have been lying to me. It has cost us $7000 out of pocket to repair this damage.
Description of Work: The provider cleared water from a basement and removed damage rugs. He has previously cleaned my carpets many times.

Response from Vic's Carpet Dry Cleaners & Dyers
In response to Mr. & Mrs. [member name removed]complaint, they failed to mention what really happened on April 27th 2014. Sunday morning our day of rest we received a phone call very early in the morning from Mrs. [member name removed], stating that her sump pump failed and that there was water in her basement. Now Sunday’s are normally our time of rest but since The [member name removed] were long time customers of ours and since this was an emergency situation I called my helper in and set out to their residence in Springfield. We arrived around 9:00 A.M. in the morning, evaluated the situation, quoted them a price and advised them that we do not work with insurance companies and if you wanted the work done a check would need to be made out before the clean up would begin. Mrs. [member name removed] gave us the ok to start and stated that she would handle the insurance company. We also advised them to take pictures of the damaged areas because it usually takes awhile before the insurance companies are able to send a rep in to evaluate the situation, and by that time mold and mildew have already spread through the area. The [member name removed] mentioned that they helped us throughout the day, the only help that they did was removing personal items, clothes, computer etc. All the heavy furniture and miscellaneous items were left for me and my helper to move around the room while we started to extract the water from the carpet. In their complaint Mr. [member name removed] states that there wasn’t much water in the basement which is roughly about a 30x30 area. We ended up extracting 150 gallons of water because our equipment records the amount of water that is removed. They also stated that we were there for a short period of time. We arrived at 9:00 A.M. Sunday morning and left at around 6:30 P.M. Sunday evening. During that time we extracted water, moved furniture around, cut up the carpet and padding in small pieces and took it up and down the stairs many times and out onto her driveway so that the trash men would be able to remove it from their property, removed the tack strip and nails, treated the area with a Micro-Ban to help kill all mold and mildew spores that are now growing in the damaged areas. Since this was a Class II water damage problem everything needed to be sprayed down before the extraction began and sprayed again after the carpet and padding was removed for the environmental safety of me and my helper and the safety of the [member name removed]. We then began to place Turbo Dryers, Dehumidifiers, Air Scrubbers and an Ozone Machine to complete the drying process. I wanted to make sure that when we left that night that the [member name removed] were left in a safe environment to live in. A few weeks later we received a letter from Mr. [member name removed] demanding that we refund him around $1800.00, stating that the drying equipment, the Micro Ban that kills the mold and mildew spores were not necessary, and our service charge for coming out on a Sunday was also to be refunded because they felt that since they are long time customers they are privileged and should not have been charged. They also complained about us using their electric. Our truck mount which is gas powered is what was used to remove the water from their basement. The equipment to dry their basement unfortunately did need their electric to run, and usually when a customer has a water damage problem they would want to use whatever it takes to get their home back to normal. As far as what we charged, I don’t know who they called and got a ridiculously low figure, but without a visual inspection and audit of the water damage an exact quote could not be given over the phone. We use a program called Xactimate, and most reputable companies that is in the water damage removal business uses the same program. This program allows you to estimate the situation and gives the proper amount to charge your customer for the work that was done. The sad part about this whole situation is that Mr. & Mrs. [member name removed] failed to read their Home Owners Policy stating that a rider must be bought in order to cover any issues stemming from the failure of their sump pump. This was not our problem, this was theirs. They called our company to be of service to them during their time of need. We received a call about a month later from Mrs. [member name removed] looking for me to clean her carpets in her home and since she felt as though we over charged her she wanted me to clean them for free. Nothing is free in this world. She also mentioned that the insurance company was not going to reimburse her for the water damage because they did not carry a rider on the sump pump. At the time of her phone call our company truck was having major issues with the truck mount that is responsible in the cleaning of the carpets and I was not able to help her at this time. I recommended that she call an associate of mine to help her get her carpets cleaned. She refused and during that week she had family and friends call our company to see if we were telling the truth about the truck mount not working. As a matter of fact I lost a weeks worth of jobs because of this serious issue with the truck mount. What’s sad about this whole situation is that according to the IICRC standards not only did we do all proper procedures correctly, our pricing was justified and within normal limits, and what ever the [member name removed] had to put out of their own pocket to get their basement back in order was their responsibility not ours. As with all our repeat customer we came and did a service that left their home clean and environmentally sound so that they could get back to their normal ways of life. As for my performance as a Carpet Cleaner, and what I charge for my cleaning, again my prices are exactly where they should be according to the IICRC Standards of the Carpet Cleaners out there. Yes there maybe a lot of Carpet Cleaners out there that offer less expensive cleaning, and the results are less then perfect. I look forward everyday to meet new customers as well as my returning customers. I enjoy making their investments look almost new again. I have a large customer base that is extremely happy with the outcome of their cleaning, and never once after looking at the results of the cleaning weather it is Carpet, Upholstery, Hard Wood, or Tile & Grout did they ever complain about the cost of the cleaning. Just go on to my web site and you can read some of my happy Customers reviews. I simply love what I do.

My first experience with Vic was a result of a referral from a neighbor who has hired Vic in the past. She is quite the researcher and I had faith that she hired the best person for the job. We hired Vic in May to clean my parent's wall to wall carpeting before listing house for sale. The carpets while probably at least 25 years old were in good shape but frankly had never been professionally cleaned. Vic arrived on time; assessed the carpets and recommend strategy for handling some of the high traffic areas. He was frank about what could and could not be done with the carpets. We appreciated his honestly and were prepared for the results. Due to our experience at my parent's house, we hired Vic to clean our area carpets at our house. He arrived a bi t after scheduled but traffic prevented him from arriving on time. It is quite obvious that he knows his business about carpeting and upholstery. In fact, he will be returning to clean our furniture. I would definitely recommend Vic's carpet cleaning to others.........I rated good on price as I frankly don't know what costs might have been from someone else.
Description of Work: Cleaned a total of 8 area rugs of various sizes. 2 were 5 x7; two were 10x13. One runner; two 2x3 and my powder room which is carpeted. Two rugs were wool.

This was awhile ago, but I remember being very impressed with the fact that the owner was doing the work himself, and he seemed very sincere and eager to do a good job. He seemed very knowledgeable about carpet cleaning techniques and materials (who knew there was so much to know?), and I was especially pleased that he was so committed to using techniques that would be less harmful to my carpet and the environment. He has cleaned our carpet on at least two occasions; one of them was after a particularly nasty substance got on it and he cleaned the carpet so well there was no trace of it afterward. He is a bit more expensive than others (perhaps), but does a stellar job. I don't get my carpet cleaned that often, but when I do, I'll call him again.

A long day as he showed up late. See above.
Description of Work: Received estimated quote over phone and was told that actual expense would probably be less as the square footage for items that weren't moved would not be included (bed, dressers, heavy furniture, etc..). Was quoted $50 for each staircase.Vic came and cleaned carpets and dry cleaned a sofa and chair. Instead of 2 sets of stairs, I only had him do one set as the other was not really dirty. The carpets came up beautiful. the sofa, however, is ruined. It was dry cleaned and it made white spots all over the sofa. Furthermore, the estimated quote I was given was $800 and when Vic finished, I was told the total was $1074. I was shocked. I was told that was what the sq. footage was.I called the company to have them look at the sofa as it was not dried before Vic left. I also spoke with them about the price and was told they would make it right. WRONG. Vic said the stains were on the sofa were there prior to cleaning. That is not accurate. Furthermore, I was told that $50 was not the correct price for stairs and he offered no explanation or resolution for the enormous price descrepancy. They ruined my sofa and WAY over-charged.

Response from Vic's Carpet Dry Cleaners & Dyers
To respond to the member's comments. Unfortunately we can not guarantee the exact time of arrival when we schedule a job due to unforseen conditions on the road. Upon arrival, Vic inspects all areas that are to be cleaned, and he then gives the customer his recommendation of the cleaning. He then makes the customer aware of the problem areas and damages, and lets them know what he can help with and what he can't help with. The member was told before hand that the sofa had white stains that were apparent before cleaning. Vic told her that he could not promise that these stains would come out, there was also a big white stain on the reverse cushion that Vic pointed out to the member, and that she was un-aware of this problem. She stated don't worry it is an old piece, just do the best job you can. As for the square footage of her carpets, she had told me during the intial phone conversation that she had 1300 sq ft, Vic measured with a measuring tape and the member had 90 sq ft more and was priced accordingly. I do not know where the member states that we gave her a price of $50.00 to do a flight of stairs because that is not in our price structure. The member was given a phone quote and was told that the price could change if there was less or more square footage. The member failed to mention that she also added some extras that would bring her total bill up in price. We went back to the member home to see about the problem she was complaining about with the sofa, and had to let her know that these were the same problems Vic told her about before the cleaning. She had pre-existing conditions that we could not help her with. The sofa was already damaged before we cleaned it. It's a shame that the member gave us this review, that as far as we can see was not fair and appropriate for all the good work that was done.
