Description of Work: Make sure that you deal DIRECT with Mark. Have all phone calls going to him directly. I only met Mark twice, during the work of the job and on 10/14 when he came and was YELLING AT ME and telling me he was not going to fix the cracks and to report him. Work was to remove the current garage floor and install a new concrete garage floor. Contract signed 4/8/11. Actual work started 7/19/11. Reasons given were a wet spring and jobs were backed up. My project was an inside job. Every time I called I was always told a couple more weeks. Mario (the estimator) was the person always answering phone and he would contact Mark the owner. I was finally told that they would start work on Monday 7/18/11. They did not show, and no phone call. I called them on the same date and relayed the above message to Mario. I also informed him that if the work did not start by tomorrow,(7/19)I was canceling the contract. They came the morning of 7/19/11 and completed the job on 7/22/11. I telephoned Mario in August to tell him the spacer at the head of the steps leading down to the basement was not completed.. Again Mario told me that the job would be done in a few weeks. In September I discovered a crack from the spacer going to the other side of the floor. Mario came and took pictures and said he would call when they would come do the work. I called again and told same thing they would be in my area in a few weeks. On 9/28/11 Mario called me and said they would be there the next day and I told him I would not be available. On 10/3/11, I called again and was told 2 more weeks. On 10/12 I called and was told by Mario he would talk to Mark and get back to me the same day. On 10/13 a no show again. I left a message about the no show and that I would take this further. On 10/13/11 a very nasty message (YELLING) was left by Mark informing me that if I wanted to take it further to go right ahead. Also told me he would be there the next day (10/14). He came around 8:00am YELLING at me, telling me that I was told there would be cracks (I was never told this) that he was not going to fix the crack/s and by now there are three. He did fix the problem with the step. Again told me if I wanted to report him to go right ahead. In all my dealing with contractors & etc. I have never had anyone YELLING at me and etc. I

Response from Morrison Custom Concrete
In response to the customer’s complaint above I’ve attached a Thank You letter we received from this client. "Just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with the garage floor. So glad that I went with Morrison's. The guys did a great job. The surroundings were well protected; trucks were parked at street level, just as you had said they would". FYI, "Two of the main reasons I signed your contract was due to your description of the job at the time when you came to give me an estimate and the submitted written contract" 1) "Description of the job- Explanation of "how" the job would be done, the importance of " why" the job would be done the way you guys do it, and making sure that all my questions had been answered". 2) "Contract- Excellent detail- very easy to understand. Number of square feet of garage, dollar rate per square foot and the total. In addition there were other items listed the same way, Knew exactly how you arrived at the total amount of money for the completion of the garage". "Believe it or not, some contracts that had been sent to me just listed "completion of garage floor" and the dollar amount. Did not specify how it was to be done, what would be installed and etc". "Total bill- $3,370.00, Paid $2,480.00 on 4123/ll. Final payment $890.00" "Attached is the final check of $890.00 for the garage floor". "Will contact you next year to have the walks & porch stoop replaced". "Thanks again for a great job Its plan to see how one issue can changes ones outlook. We take pride in all of our work and treat our customers with respect. We completed this project for the customer and there was a small hair line crack that was addressed with the customer. We explained to the customer prior to completing the work and after as it states in our estimates as well. During concrete curing stage sometimes a small hairline crack will form. We can only follow procedures known to help control or reduce these hair line cracks. Morrison Custom Concrete cannot guarantee concrete will not crack nor will any other reputable contractor guarantee this because this would be a flat out lie. We put in place the following measures to help reduce and or control shrinkage cracks as follows. We due in fact guarantee shrinkage cracks will not exceed 3/16” or proper repairs will be made as explained to this customer! Pour concrete on a 4" stone base. Use wire mesh pulled into the center as concrete is poured use a quality fiber mesh re-enforced concrete. install a rebar mat install fiber expansion joint where needed saw cut expansion joints as needed.

They did do good work. But they were very poor in their correspondence. Out of the quotes they were the cheapest in price but their biggest problem was the correspondence and the timeliness of their work. I would call them back for an estimate but most likely I will not use them in the future.
Description of Work: Three years ago we had Morrison's Custom Concrete to put in a patio and side walk area for us.

Response from Morrison Custom Concrete
Morrison Custom Concrete is up front with all customers and communicate well. We have 2 telephone numbers and two email address that we can be reached at anytime to discuss any situation and return all calls promptly. [member name removed] had a hard time understanding how rain delays a concrete project from being started. We are up front with all customers how any rain days will delay the start of a project and completion. We complete over 100 intricate decorative concrete projects including patios, pool decks, sidewalk retaining wall, outdoor kitchens etc each year. We are a very reputable high quality contractor and all work is completed in house. Serving your area since 1999. All projects are completed in order as we receive commitments from clients. Due to a raining season we will tend to run behind schedule on projects. Unfortunately we cannot risk the quality of our work just to complete a project. Our goal is to satisfy all our clients but a few are just beyond understanding our task when the weather is 100% factor in providing a quality product. Mark Morrison
