The job went very well and their price was reasonable. They took the awning down in the fall before the weather turned cold and will install it again in the spring. We couldn't be happier with the awning. It allows us to enjoy our summer without the blazing sun beating down on us and the back of our house. Very pleased!

It went well. They were on time. Did what they said they would do. They also gave hands on instruction. Everything went fine.

This company is great!!! I have never had a better experience with a home improvement project. I was contacted in less than an hour after leaving a voice mail message by a very polite and knowledgeable salesman named Josh. An appointment was made and Josh came to my home a few days later exactly on time. He had a working model of the retractable awning and made a terrific presentation explaining clearly the features and functions of the product. I was able to see the quality and performance of it on the spot! He had many photos to show different styles and installations. He proudly told the story of the family owned business and how their awnings were made locally. It was an easy decision to go with Affordable Tents and Awnings. Other companies gave me bids that were much higher and had little to show except a brochure. Josh gave me a detailed description of how the awning would be built and installed as well as helping us with the fabric selection. It was a family project, his Mom and Dad would make the awning and his brother would install it. The awning was completed right on schedule. I talked to Linda (Mom) about scheduling the installation and a few days later David (brother) and his crew arrived, right on time. They were courteous, professional and very skilled. The awning was up in under two hours. It is beautiful! The work site was left clean and neat. David showed me all the features and controls and provided tips on cleaning and winter storage. He even explained their warranty which is far better than any of the other companies I researched! Great product, great service, great price, great warranty. I am a satisfied customer.

We built a 20' x 14' deck last year and the afternoon sun was so intense, that we really couldn't use the deck. We thought about installing a permanent roof over the deck, but that is very expensive and we also love seeing the stars above us at night, so a retractable awning was the right decision for us. My wife and I had a few very simple requirements for the product. We wanted white hardware to match the trim of our house, we wanted it to be motorized, and we wanted it to cover as much of our deck as possible. We originally talked to two retractable awning companies starting in April 2014. The one company (that you probably see advertised on TV) had very limited options, they didn't offer white hardware, they only build their awnings in 1' increments, and they only extended 11.8'. Their price was reasonable, but we'd have to make a lot of sacrifices of what we originally wanted. The second company (a local installer) was able to order us exactly what we wanted, but it was going to end up costing us approx. $2000 more. That extra $2000 was primarily to account for the extra robust hardware needed to extend the awning the extra 2'. We were almost ready to make make the decision to go with the cheaper option and live with the tan hardware and shorter awning, but luckily we saw the Affordable Tent and Awnings advertisement in our Clipper magazine. They were able to get us exactly what we wanted (white hardware, full 13.3' extension) and it was going to be cheaper than the nationally advertised option. I learned that they build their own awnings at a local facility. I was a little bit skeptical about the quality at first, but they demoed their product at our house and having looked at the other two options in detail, I could tell that their product was high quality. This is a family run business and I interacted with Josh (the salesman), DJ (the installer), and Linda (over the phone to make an adjustment to our order and to schedule our installation). Every person was very attentive to our requests. The awning was built and installed to our specifications within 5 weeks from the original order placement. I can't say enough good things about the final result - our deck is not only usable in the middle of a hot and sunny day, but it has been transformed into one of the most desirable locations at our house. I really feel like we were lucky to find this company when we did before we went with one of the other sub-optimal choices.

The owner of this company came to my home the day that I called to give me an estimate for having an awning hung over my deck. Due to the unusual size of the awning that I wanted, it had to be special ordered. He called several weeks earlier than expected to inform me that the awning was ready for installation. Installation went very smoothly. As above the individual that did the actual installation did a superb job. From start to finish this company did an A-1 job and I would highly recommend their services.

The sales rep, Josh, was very informative and professional. He showed up on time and was able to answer all our questions. We felt very comfortable placing our order. The price was $500 less than another vendor's estimate. These awnings are custom-made. We originally were going to pay an extra $500 for a motorized model, but Josh assured us that we could handle the manual operation. Within 3 weeks, our retractable awning was installed. Josh was right, we can easily open and close the awning. We definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for a porch or deck awning.
