Poor communication. No project management. Failed to complete terms of the contract.

They were quick to come out and give us an estimate. We decided to hire them. They did a quick and efficient job and cleaned up after themselves. Very happy with our experience.

Although the project did not begin on schedule and took longer than originally anticipated the end result was excellent. Jory and Clive who did the work did so very professionally. Their work was second to none and the result excellent. They treated the project as if it were their own property that they were working on. I would not hesitate to have them do other projects at my house.

We are ecstatic about our experience with Perez LLC. Every employee was a consummate professional. Every meeting was punctual, thorough, and productive. Between the well-informed sales people and the obviously skilled and knowledgeable project manager, we were guided toward ultimately valuable investments in our home and a safe, durable roof. They were able to stay within our budget. The job was finished early (despite 2 rainy days), the job site was clean, and roof is beautiful. We will certainly hire them again for future projects. We were especially grateful to Perez for diagnosing a problem with our roof that had led to its premature degradation and reduced durability. A second opinion by another contractor confirmed their evaluation. Furthermore, we explored the option of a metal roof, and were satisfied with the thorough analysis Perez provided. The Perez client website was an unexpected and highly valued benefit to doing business with this particular company. Schematics, contracts, design selections, correspondence messages between us and our salespeople/project-manager, and daily photographs of the project's progress - everything was available to view online. The Perez design center in Clarks Summit is impressive. It was there that we chose our shingles. The salesman educated us as to the different manufacturers, their warranties and guarantees, and even the companies' history and longevity. We felt very confident in our final choice. We were also able to meet with a designer who showed us many modern and attractive options for future renovations we anticipate realizing. Available selections ran the gamut from budget-friendly to custom.

From the time I met Adam Perez and described the discontent I had experienced with other contractors, I knew that I had chosen the right contractor for this project. Every one in the office treated me as if I were special, from the design stage to finish. Even though there were sub contractors used, they were all of high quality and each were proficient in their trade. In the midst of having our kitchen remodelled, our heating system went. Talk about bad luck!!! I was assigned my own project manager, Jason, who was such a great fit for us. He has such a great personality and is able to handle problems as they arise in a very professional manor. He was in contact with me on a daily basis to make sure everything was running smoothly and to keep me informed of the schedule. My husband is disabled and everyone that entered our home was extremely polite and accomodating to our needs. I had to use the front door to enter our house while the work was being done and one gentleman actually helped me carry my groceries in!! This is not a company that will leave you hanging. They will return to make things right because they want to keep their good reputation. I look forward to having enough money to hire them for future projects. They were excellent. They were very professional. They work diligently. They were prompt and I would definitely recommend them.

August 2012: The original renovation and construction went fairly well, with the exception of a couple weeks when no one showed up to do anything at all. The siding/roofing job was done by an outside contractor that they used....not their own siding/roofing crew. They had to come back here at least four times to fix problems with the siding, the trim and the shingles. It STILL looks very unprofessional in spots. Then, the problems began...the hardwood flooring separated in various locations, the sheet rock in the sun room cracked in two places on an outside wall and along the ceiling peak, COLD air came into the cabinet under my gas cook top freezing your feet as you stood and cooked, and then the horrible clicking and popping noise happened/happens in the kitchen ceiling every time the heat comes on! 2013...Perez came back and addressed all these issues. They fixed the sheet rock, they fixed the flooring, they tried to fix the COLD air problem, but didn't resolve it (I had to live with it during this very cold winter) and they tried, in their own strange way, to fix the noise in the ceiling by cutting a "door-sized" hole in the new sheet rock in my kitchen wall! Now, mind you, the noise is in the ceiling? I lived with the COLD air and the irritating noise in the ceiling for the entire fall and winter of 2013! This Spring 2014, as other issues appeared, along with some of the same ones that they had fixed last year, Mr. Adam Perez came to the house to see for himself, took pictures, and was given a list of the issues. Floor separating, noise still in ceiling, cold air still coming into cabinet, crown molding separating from ceiling, sheet rock cracks in the same places as before, sun room door sticks and isn't level, wainscoting loose on island, molding loose along floor, and the grout is separating between back splash and counter top. Since I gave him that list, I now have a place on the sun room floor where the finish is peeling off the flooring when water from a bad storm came in under the door. After that meeting, it was 8 1/2 weeks with NO communication from him! When we finally heard from Perez, we decided not to have anything fixed until summer was over as we were going to be going on vacation, having parties, etc. and did not want to have the disruption and the mess to deal with. Which was fine with Perez. October 2014 update: The sheet rock has been repaired, crown molding fixed, wainscoting and molding fixed, grout was redone, the hardwood flooring was fixed...except for the pieces by the sun room door where I was told they would have to remove the molding at the base of the wall to get to the end piece in order to remove the flooring to get to the bad pieces? Or, I could just get a color stick and color it back in? I told them to forget it, I will just live with it and put a big throw rug over it! The door is still uneven and will remain that way as they showed no interest in fixing it. It would have to be totally taken out and rehung. The cold air under the cabinet was addressed, this time, from the outside. Now, that we are having cold weather again, it is STILL cold under there and you can feel it on the floor! The hardwood flooring separation is also starting to appear once again. Now, to the BIG issue....the noise (clicking and popping) in the kitchen ceiling every time the heat comes on. This is from the water pipes being re-routed at the time of renovation. They DO NOT intend to fix it! I was told, it is "our" fault, but we can't/won't take the ceiling down to fix it. So, I will have to live with and listen to this every time the heat turns on and I do!! As they were leaving my house, after fixing all they intended to fix, one of the men said to me....now, Pat, we don't want to hear from you ever again! I think he was partially "joking", but I told him to be careful what he wishes for! To say that I am less than pleased, is an understatement! I would and don't recommend Perez to anyone! I tell my story to any one who asks me and will listen? Professionalism is not their middle name or their first name! This is totally unacceptable!

Perez Design Build Remodel are hands down roofing company we have ever found.

From start to finish, we could not have been more satisfied that we chose Perez to do our bathroom remodeling project. The people at Perez were very professional, respectvul and very easy to work with. It became obvious to us right away that the system they have in place to step you through assessment, design and review was one that we would be comfortable with and appreciated. The project started and finished on time. There were no problems with any aspects of the project and the finished product exceeded our expectations. Should we decide to take on another project, we will certainly consider Perez first!

It went well, Chris was very knowledgeable and very polite. He discussed every option for the projects and also talked a little about funding. I am still in the process of getting more estimates before I can make a decission.

The job went extremely well. Perez took care of all the details. Everyone on the job site was extremely professional and they took care to clean up as they went along. They were respectful to us and our property. There were no surprise costs, the price quoted was the price we paid. The outcome of the renovation exceeded our expectations. Perez removed and replaced windows and doors. Framed the mud room, bathroom and closets. They removed and replaced exterior siding. The subcontractors installed new electrical service, wiring, plumbing, drywall and flooring. Perez completed the finish work in the new space. Above all the work Perez did, they cam up with a temporary solution for our laundry room. While the construction was ongoing, they moved our dryer to the garage so that we were not inconvenienced during the project. We were able to wash clothes without having to go to the laundromat.

Very good so far. Everything was done quickly and professionally, start to finish in one long day. They took extra care to make sure the areas previously troublesome were fixed very well. The big test will be how it holds up now, but based on what we see it should not be a problem. The roof was the original from 23 years ago and had a few leaks due to wind blowing a dormer plus heavy weather in the area. They checked everything out, made sure all vents were correct and roofing was done right.

My overall impression with them was excellent! Everything they did was excellent. Actually, even their cleanup was excellent.

They came on time, were polite and helpful, and fixed it without a hitch. First class all the way!

They looked like he was good and would do a good job but he was overpriced. He quoted me over $50,000. Another thing that I did not like was that he told us he had a design, I was looking not just for replacing cabinets but also a design change and renovate stuff but he would not show me the designs without me giving him the money down and sign a contract. I was not pleased with that so I did not bother going back to him but he was very professional and nice to work with; I met with him at a builders’ show, at my place, and also at his place. I do not have prices from anybody else but I just know he was high from my own experience. I read one of the other reviews and they said they do things really well so their price might be a little higher than other people.

They were nice. They came out and their salesman was very cordial and very nice. He was very knowledgeable. I just thought they were priced a bit too high, but they seemed very professional and they were above the board.

We were very impressed with the gentleman who came up and gave us some good feedback on what our preliminary plans were and we could contact them. In the meantime ever since we downsized our plan and put them on hold and really haven't gotten back to them. They are very professional, very knowledgeable in terms of great details to extent and was very involved in the project. They are very personable. I would use them again.

As of today (4/15), we are still in the planning stages of our remodel. The company so far has been wonderful to work with and very professional. We did a previous renovation on our home by ourselves and much rather prefer hiring someone and enjoying their expertise and knowledge as we move through the project. The individual we have been working with up to this point has been very committed to helping us and enjoyable to work with. We look forward to the rest of this project and are very excited to be using Perez for this job. I will give an update once the work is complete.

This company is very professional in all aspects. They were on time for appointments and giving me an estimate on the cost of the project. The only problem was their estimated cost for the project was light years away from what I expected. Other contractors estimates were substantially lower in cost.

So far we just have the contract but will update once the work is done.

Not satisfactory. Estimator apparently did not take our inquiry seriously.

MY HAPPY EXPERIENCES WITH PEREZ DESIGN, BUILD AND REMODEL Only the truly exceptional could work with Michelangelo, and among the few who met his standards was Matteo Perez, one of whose paintings also graces the Sistine Chapel. While I don?t know if Nick Perez and his son Adam are descended from Matteo, I can say from personal experience that their work would have made him, and Michelangelo, proud! To date I have had four large jobs done by them: oak floors throughout the house; adding two bedrooms and a full bath on the second floor; demolishing and rebuilding a wrap-around porch; and building an extension which consists of a deck, sunroom and office. The quality in each case is absolutely outstanding. I am writing this testimonial both as a small thank you, and perhaps more importantly, to set the record straight, that there is an honest, reliable, top of the line contractor out there. As a bit of background, over the course of 20+ years I have owned and personally renovated two ?handyman specials? and a four storey barn, which also included designing and building extensions, greenhouses, sheds and a pavilion. Thus, I know from hands on experience what it is like to do just about everything from the foundation to the roof. We?re in our third house now, but between running a demanding business and feeling my aches and pains a bit more, I?m at a point where having someone else do the construction work is the best way to go, and on the recommendation of a friend, I first had Perez install the oak floors; I was so pleased and impressed that I didn?t waste my time calling anyone else for the other jobs. Between such things as adding an extra closet in what would have been dead space on the second floor, or using special support forms for the footings of the porch and extension, they always amazed me; I could probably write a book, but instead will just briefly describe the biggest project, the extension. I called Nick and as always he arrived on time, tape measure and notebook in hand. We showed him the site, explained what we wanted and let him take it from there. With over 40 years experience, plus a comprehensive knowledge of products and materials, he set to work, taking measurements and making a few rough sketches; the project had already taken shape in his mind. He explained how it would fit in with the existing structure, how the sunroom would look better if it jutted out a bit from the office, and a host of other details we hadn?t thought of. He then showed us literature about windows, doors, decking and other items, thus giving us the widest possible range of options for price, quality and appearance. Every question was answered and idea discussed without the least bit of pressure. When we were done, he said that if we wanted to go to the next step, the actual plans and material list, to just give a call; instead, we signed on the spot, and gave him a small deposit to cover the costs of the design work. Their in-house expert, using state of the art computer assisted design, developed the master plans, which was a big plus since it meant we saved the hefty fee that an architect would have charged for doing the same thing, and not necessarily as well done. (Before going on, it is important to note that Perez Design, Build and Remodel is fully insured, something many contractors are not; if you look at the fine print in your homeowner's policy, you will see that you are NOT covered for this, meaning that if the contractor or even a sub-contractor does not have proper insurance, YOU are personally liable for injuries, etc., which could well bankrupt you!) Nick quickly returned and proudly rolled out the plans so that we could see exactly what we would be getting. Even on paper it looked beautiful! First thing in the morning on the start date, one of the coldest days of the year, they began work. I noticed that everyone was wearing the same heavy duty clothing; Nick later explained that they want to make sure their workers are dressed neatly and properly for the weather, and thus provide their overalls, sweatshirts, etc.; as it became clear, they really care about the people who work for them, who in turn really care about the clients. As just one of many examples of the constant attention to strength and quality, they laid rebar in the bottom of each footing hole, something I have to confess I never thought of and few people would have noticed. It cost them extra time and money, but it gave that much more value. They even went through the trouble of covering the cement work with a heavy layer of straw so that it would cure properly in the cold! Everything continued exactly on schedule. Each member of the team, and that is the proper term, considering how well they worked together, was a top player; I was continuously amazed at how quickly and well they did things. For instance, the new roof was to be perpendicular to the existing one, and thus the rafters had to be cut with a precise, difficult angle on the adjoining ends to tie in properly. Having done the same thing myself, I always found it particularly hard, but they, being true masters of their craft, made it look easy. Every time I went outside, I had to stop and look in admiration; the framing was perfect. Throughout the entire job everyone was punctual, polite, friendly, considerate and courteous; at one point or another all said that Perez Design, Build and Remodel was the best place they ever worked for, and I could see they were doing their best work in return. For example, the deck is made out of a maintenance free composite material, and each board was exactly spaced, and the fasteners, which were top quality stainless steel, were installed in such a way as to be invisible. A couple of last minute minor changes we thought of were cheerfully done; when they said, ?No problem!? they meant it. To be brief, the project was finished on time; Nick came out to carefully and completely look it over and made a list of a few small things we didn?t notice, such as one screw in a hinge being different than the others, and all was promptly taken care of. Every bit of debris was hauled away and we were left with a beautiful addition to our house. Even now, whenever we are up on a nearby hill, we look down and admire the work and how beautiful it looks. We could have found a cheaper price, but never have gotten a better value. Michelangelo would agree!
