Adamson Construction LLC is a family owned and operated Home Improvement Contractor located in Penn Township. Providing quality service from A to Z for Penn Township and surrounding areas. All customers are provided with free estimates and assured all work will be performed in a professional and timely manner. Our company also carries all necessary insurance.
Warning: Poor Quality Workmanship As a former employee who left after two months, I feel compelled to share my experience with Adamson Construction. After just a week, I started applying for other jobs due to the poor standards I observed. Customers are investing significant money, often for dream projects, yet the quality of work was consistently subpar. Adamson often remains absent from job sites, giving his team vague instructions and expecting them to complete work without proper plans or drawings. This leads to recurring issues like leaking pipes, poorly constructed bulkheads, and shoddy finishes. The "good enough" approach was the norm, and many clients, who are personal acquaintances, accept it. If you hire Adamson Construction, I strongly advise having someone with trade knowledge inspect the work regularly. Expect nothing more than "good enough" construction, which isn’t enough for something as important as your home.
Description of Work: Everything from refinishing basements to replacing hardwood floors.

replacement windows

We hired this company to replace all of the windows in our home complete with new sills and trim work. The windows used in our home were not the model we had asked for but we did not realize this until there was only one left to go in. We get dirt and debris in through the closed windows and one window has started to leak. We called a different contractor about the leaking window and at first glance he told us the windows were installed improperly. On further inspection, screws were not placed into the predrilled holes by the window manufacturer. Instead, they were driven into the corner of the window which voids the warranty on the windows and may cause leakage. We are so angry and disappointed that we paid a lot of money for such horrid work and now have to pay more money to have them fixed. Plus the warranty on the windows is now no good.

This is our second complete bathroom remodel. The master bathroom was remodeled a few years ago by a different company; thus we have some experience. We have used Adamson for several drywall projects in the past. Due to positive past experiences, we decided to forgo looking for a bathroom/kitchen vendor and use Adamson for our bathroom remodel. I wish I would have seen the previous Angie's list review regarding the bathroom remodel finish work and done more homework. Bathroom renovations require a certain level of expertise. The finish work, especially the tile work (see attached pictures) is below average. After I saw the tile work I said to Pat, this does not look good. He agreed and "fixed" but looking at the pictures he did not see the problems I did with the workmanship. The floor tile work is uneven and not flat. As I have worked with the contractor several times previously, I was surprised that the question was not posed to me that "the existing baseboard color does not match/fit, we can redo the all the baseboard so that the bathroom looks finished and not patched together". I would have gladly paid extra for a finished product. If the contractor completes a project and does not see what the homeowner sees, there is no point in having that contractor correct it. Since the remodel has been finished they have returned twice to "tweek" some items and now the faucet and handles on the sink are moving - never had that happen before in a bathroom. For drywall projects I would recommend Adamson. For a bathroom renovation, I would find a company that specializes in that type of remodel.

Pat came out and gave a very reasonable estimate. We went over everything that was expected. Pat and crew always arrived on time with no less than 3 workers. He and his workers were very professional and courteous. They took very few breaks and worked from the time they arrived until they left. The room turned out just as we expected if not better. There were a few minor issues that needed to be resolved. When I called him he set the date and came out and took care of everything. A excellent job.
Description of Work: enclosed a back porch to make it a 4 season room.

Pat and his workers were very patient and listened well. The job was started on time and finished approximately on schedule given unexpected weather type delays. Quality of the work was good and the room is a showpiece of our house. It came out looking exactly like we envisioned. The workers showed up on time and were respectful and professional. Listening to Pat and his employees work exemplified their level of experience. One guy would call out a measurement, other guy would repeat back, the other guy would make the cut, and they moved on in a seamless fashion. Only complaint that I have is that we asked for a quotation to build a gazebo and extension on our deck. He never got back to us which we found to be odd. It seems that with the limited number of weather-compatible building days in Western PA, some contractors aren't interested in smallish jobs. However, I would have appreciated a polite "no, not interested" so that I could have moved onto to plan B.
Description of Work: Built an all season room addition onto our family room. Also refinished a basement area.

This company was fantastic from start to finish. They were responsive, great communicators, flexible, personable and priced competitively. The work was required as a result of a failed dye test and Adamson had two business days to get the work prepared to pass inspection. They achieved that strict deadline and worked through terrible rainy conditions to make it happen. I really appreciated their partnership on this work and would definitely hire them for future work.
Description of Work: Adamson Construction performed the excavation and back-fill worked required to replaced the sewer lines between the output of my home and the street lines. They also did the plumbing work, as well as restore the yard and driveway to pre-project conditions. Additionally, I was in the process of selling my home and they stepped up to take on additional work (gutter inspection and repair) when another contractor failed to show up for a scheduled appointment.

Pat Adamson the owner is a true craftsman. He has a small crew which includes his son. They are very meticulous with every measurement, every cut, and placement of every piece of wood. The fit and trim of the job was superb. I am finicky about proper angles, perfect mitre joints, and so forth. These guys did a really good job. During the planning stages Pat was very patient, and listened as my wife and I deliberated on the design of the project. Even during the construction phase he was able to adapt to a couple audibles at the line. There were not additional charges, work changes, etc. His work crew was very respectful -- always asking permission to enter, etc. Finally, his price was very competitive. Highly recommended -- in fact he will be starting on a new project refinishing my outdated gameroom after the holidays.
Description of Work: We had a sunroom added to our 24 year old home.

I paid approximately $3,000 for labor and purchased the major materials myself. I have posted other reviews but a year has passed and I would like to add information. My only suggestion would be to hire companies who specialize for the detail work such as the tile installation. Our wall tile is installed straight and neat, but the detail work would have been a little nicer if done by a specialty company. It would also be easier to decide on a design and the cost of the investment with a professional company who works with you through the process. I would have Adamson do additional work at our house with some specific exceptions. He is very patient and professional.
Description of Work: Pat Adamson did a great job on my kitchen and I am happy with the final project. He started with an empty room and followed my design. He installed everything from electrical outlets to plumbing and cabinets.

Pat was great to work with and very patient. This was my first major remodel and I had a definite idea of the finished project. Decision making was difficult. He addressed any concerns I had and didn't grumble about my daily lists of changes/adjustments. He brought a crew with him each day and they thoroughly cleaned up the house before leaving each day. When I asked for special tasks to be done such as installing a spice rack on cabinet door, or turning a light switch, he took care of it without blinking. He ordered the counter through his manufacturer, saving me $800 or more. He did everything I asked but he finished the project a little later than I expected because we were waiting for the counter. He brought a plumber to connect the water and sewage lines. He cut and installed the ceramic tile in the backsplash and bathroom walls. I paid him for labor and bought most of the supplies myself. There were no additional or hidden charges at the end of the job. His estimate was his price. When I accidently flooded the kitchen (dishwasher wasn't connected), even though he was away at hunting camp, his wife sent out two guys to help clean up the water and shut off the line to the dishwasher - it was 9:00 p.m. - and my fault. There was no additional charge for that trip and they were here in minutes. My husband said I was being difficult at times. At times I was frustrated because I wanted things done in a particular way but Pat always addressed my concerns and made changes. I needed to have the work done exactly as I wanted while Pat was here. My husband doesn't like home projects and I knew it would be difficult to have things changed later (if I didn't like it). I waited 20 years to have this kitchen done and Pat and his crew put it together just as I imagined. Since it was my first big project, I didn't realize that the estimate didn't include the supplies or allowances for the supplies. The only things included in the quote were the allowance for bathroom wall tile and the cost of the new toilet. However, I realized later that I did tell Pat I would pick everything and he basically needed to give me a quote on the labor. That's what he did. Overall, I was very happy with the work. I love both the kitchen and bathroom. Adamson Construction is a great choice for home remodel, although his business cards do not include kitchens anymore. My husband said I made him crazy so he doesn't want to do them any more. lol I would like to have my gameroom done soon and I'm working on those plans now.
Description of Work: Wall demo and then replaced with ceramic wall tile, exhaust fan, new toilet in existing bathroom. Room was done in a few days, cleaned up and ready for use daily. Also, installed a new kitchen in existing (empty) room. Started by removing wall and installing flooring. Then Pat installed cabinets, plumbing, electrical, appliances, counter, and lighting. Worked with a small crew who showed up daily around 8 a.m. and left about 3:30 p.m. This project took about 2 weeks plus a 3 week waiting period for counter production. Installation of counter, installed some new cabinet doors with replacements from Lowes (original doors arrived with weird markings). Installed backsplash and cable line near counter for television. Labor was $4,000 in the kitchen and approximately $2,000 in the bathroom.

He addressed any concerns I had as the work progressed and proceeded as discussed. I appreciated the fact that he did not dismiss my concerns and questions because I am a woman. ( I have had other workers who seemed to pay attention to my husbands concerns but fluff off my ideas as unimportant.) He did a great job and we are planning to have him come back this fall for a few interior remodeling ideas I have. lol
Description of Work: Our porch roof leaked during rainstorms and snow falls. (This year we had to break ice cycles to get in the front door.) The cement porch floor sank several inches along the house which caused water to pool and sometimes freeze at the front door . Pat Adamson broke up and removed the old cement porch and rusted metal posts. He repaired the leaking roof, installed a new ceiling, added new columns, cemented a new porch (with a slight lean away from the house) and steps coming up to the front of our house. Repaired the sidewalk in several other places. He put in a french drain around our front porch to eliminate the water problem from poor grading.
