Rami and his Dad were great, friendly and prompt and we had everything done within a week which was awesome. I shopped around and they had the best price and were able to do it quickly. I would recomend and friends love our kitchen. Mike and Jen

Response from CHESTER COUNTY MARBLE & GRANITE
We did provide countertops installation to this client back in March of 2013. The job was done 1 year ago. Usually after the client is happy with the work, they would pay the remainder for the balance. I reviewed his contract, and he did pay the full amount which indicate to me that he was satisfied. There weren't any notes from the customers about "horrible workmanship and material". If someone is not happy, they will not pay a dime unless they are 100% satisfied. For this client to come back 1 year later seems to be completely not legitimate. Usually if clients have any remarks, they would call us back within 1-2 weeks from the time of installation, not 1 year. Since I read his report, I found his file and called him twice with no response.

Chester County's actions were certainly unethical, and potentially illegal. I recommend you stay away! We called Chester County Granite a half dozen times requesting a price for a particular, uncommon design of granite. Chester County confirmed each time that they had the granite in stock, and quoted a price considerably lower than competition. We called the multiple times because Chester County's story sounded a bit odd. Despite some misgiving, we decided to go and check it out. The first questionable practice by Chester County was bait and switch. As soon as we got there, Ali said, 'You really don't want the granite we talked about on the phone.' He touched my wife's elbow, and began drawing her into his stone yard. My wife yanked away from him, and we stopped, being very clear that we knew what we wanted, and that the specific granite was why we were there. We told Ali about the specific slab we wanted (we had found it at a granite wholesaler earlier in the day), and he confirmed he would be able to cut the slab for us, at a particular price that was 50% higher than quoted on the phone, but still within reason. After significant discussion between my wife and me on whether it would be a mistake to do business with someone showing questionable business practices, we decided to agree in the interest of time. The second-- highly-- questionable practice by Chester County was a second-- more serious-- bait and switch setup. Ali wrote out a contract for us, but seemingly forgot to detail the specific granite slab he would process for us. Before signing, I filled in exactly which slab he would be providing us, basis our agreement. He had a shocked look on his face for a second, which we ignored to keep moving forward. (Big mistake.) The third questionable practice by Chester County was, I can think of no other terms, fraud. Ali said we had an agreement, and we went to get money to pay him the downpayment. I stayed at home, while my wife went to go to Ali's office once again. Ali did not answer his phone when my wife called to ensure he would be there. When my wife got to Ali's office, he said there was a problem, and he needed to see our agreement. Ali looked carefully at the agreement, and began an animated discussion with my wife on some details. He began by saying that while we had agreed he would provide 30 square feet, he said that he had meant to write 25, so that's what he would provide. During a heated discussion on this topic, Ali stole the signed agreement we had, and replaced it with a different contract-- that no longer stated which slab of granite he would provide us. Because of the emotion on the disagreement on total size, my wife only recognized the agreement switch after returning home. We later learned that Ali had had trouble obtaining a discount on the price for the granite slab from his wholesaler that Chester County and we had agreed would be provided. We learned from other wholesalers that Ali had called them trying to obtain less expensive (and inferior) slabs of somewhat similar granite of the specific name we had requested. Everything points to Ali planning to execute another bait and switch on us-- getting us to pay for a superior stone, and then providing us a cheap substitute, presumably as a result of some 'error' he would tell us about later. At a minimum, Chester County's actions were unethical. Because of the depth with which we interacted with Ali of Chester County, we say he provided us a (dis)service. This story is all true-- buyer beware!!!
Description of Work: Cutting and installation of granite countertops. Due to the seriousness of the issues with this provider, we count this as service provided. When the police should be called, that is a 'service provided'.

Since we are a family owned business, we strive to satisfy every single customer who uses our services. Unfortunately, I don't recall providing service to this customer at all. I have went through all my records and this customer doesn't exist. I emailed Angie's list to show me a proof of some sort of documentation and they failed to do so. Their response was very contradicting. They claimed that the customer exist but they can't ask for a copy of receipt??? With all the respect but if you are a third party, playing the role of a judge here between 2 opponents, you should be prepared to show all evidence. Neither Rod Wallace nor Angie's list have any proof to support their claim. 2- With more than 50 colors in stock, we hardly go out and use a different supplier to provide customers with natural stone. Each individual natural stone comes with at least 2-3 names depending on the origin of this stone. On a daily basis, we get many phone calls asking about a specific stone type and we strive to be as accurate as possible since we have a website that shows all the stone available in stock. Why would you need to drive to the shop if you were 1 click away to check the website and see if we have the actual stone? 3- All initial contracts or quotes are prepared and signed by Rami and Ali is only responsible to take templates, fabricate and install.

Pleasant to deal with, easy to work with. The pricing was very fair, and when I needed them to come out and move one of the counter tops because the stove would not fit, they came right out, no questions asked and made the correction.

We really liked them and everything about that place was wonderful, but we bought granite elsewhere because found a piece that we liked better. It is just that each individual piece of granite is different, and we found a piece of granite somewhere else that nobody else had, but we would have used them had they had this piece. We looked for months and we did not buy the granite that we bought until August, and it is still not installed. This place, and the place that we found the granite we liked, are probably the only two places that we would go to in the future.

We went with another company. It looked like it was pretty much a one-man show. He was trying to push what he had in stock rather than working with us. He was quite on the spot and seemed to be quite customer oriented but in terms of being accommodating he was only interested in pushing what he had. He was professional and the price was competitive. We would probably not use him again unless he grew from a one-man shop. He didn’t have as much to offer as the company we went with.

The company is not a one man shop. It's a family owned business with 4 total employees. When the member visited the facility, there was one person there at that specific time since the rest of the employees are either doing template, giving estimate or buying material for the company.

Overall excellent experience, I went to the shop, picked out the type I wanted. One home visit for installation, second home visit for installation - much faster than I expected but quality was first rate.
Description of Work: I had two areas of granite counter tops installed. This is a family owned and operated business. At the shop, you can see a large variety of granite, not just samples. Rami gave me good suggestions about styles best for my kitchen. The installation was clean, prompt and very professionally done. No surprise extra costs.

They were wonderful. I was very happy with their service. I feel like I got a great price. I am happy that I made the purchase from a proprietor; I like to support someone, who is running their own business rather than a large company. They were very professional and quick. I felt that they answered my questions very carefully; they were good listeners. I wanted to upgrade my granite. I wanted to go for their bottom-of-the-line range, when it came to prices. As soon as I said that to them, they were very co-operative and showed me products in the same price range. I didn?t have any pressure from them. They were fine with whatever I wanted. My kitchen was out of commission for only 24 hours. I spent $3000 on the countertops, which was excellent. I?ll definitely use them again, if required. I have already recommended them to others.

After much research I found that they had the lowest price on granite. Good selection available. They addressed all of my concerns on matching pieces at seams. Very quick service-took less than 2 weeks to have the template made and countertop installed. I had a concern after installation and they returned within days no questions asked and addressed everything satisfactorily.

We have went to a couple of countertop companies and have a general idea on what we want and what the average price is. On Saturday (6/27), we paid them a visit with no intention of buying right then and there. Rami was absolutely friendly and professional, and we bought right then and there. They immediately came to our house with us to measure. We scheduled for them to come out the following week (7/3). But since we need 3 days to get it done, 1 for countertop, and 2 for tiles, we sort of hoped that they can get it done before the July 4th holiday. Absolutely surprised that they came out the following Wednesday instead, and did the countertop for less than 2 hours. Tiles the next day for 4 hours, and grout on the tiles the next day - 2 hours. In short, everything got done in 6 days from signing up to getting it installed. Will recommend them to my friends. Only suggestion is to go thru Rami for all details (to avoid any mis-communication with his dad) - who is friendly and all, but English isn't really his native language.

Chester County Marble and Granite was extremely professional. I first met with Rami, the owners son, who showed me granite to match my kitchen cabinets and gave me a small sample to take home. The granite matched perfectly, but even better, their prices were the best in town, by far. Rami's father Ali came out and made a template and installed the granite within a week of the template...slightly longer than he said, but come on, that's great. The father and son are extremely nice and willing to help. I'm thrilled!
Description of Work: They helped me choose a granite that matched my kitchen cabinets. They were prompt in coming out to make a template for the new countertops. They came back with the finished product within a week and installed it in an hour and a half. This is a small family business, not a huge corporation where they pressure you to take the granite they want you to take. Their granite is outside so is easy to see. Other places you're in a dark storeroom and you don't know what you're getting.

I visited their facilities twice to pick out my choice of marble. Both times they were very courteous and helpful. Allie came out to make molds and did it very quickly. On installation day, they arrived on time and were done and gone in less than 3 hours. I can't say enough good things about this company. Both price and installation were great.

Ali came highly recommended to me by a professional colleague. Admittedly, his accent is a little thick, but this guy knows what he's doing. I went out to his shop and consulted with his son on the color scheme of the kitchen, picked out a slab of granite. Said son came, measured me out, and handed me an estimate. I handed him a check (they require a paper check). That night around 6pm Ali arrives (on time)...Wham-bam!...template done in less than an hour. Next Saturday, at 7:50am, I'm tapping my foot waiting for them ro arrive for about 50min. I call, he answers. About 8am, the installation team arrives, immediately gets to work and before 10am he's asking for feedback, giving instructions about installing the faucet and reconnecting the sink drain, and expecting a check (a paper check...hello? on line banking!).
Description of Work: Replaced laminate countertop with granite countertop and backsplash, stainless steel undermount sink. Granite was beveled and rounded with an extended overhang, sealed and drilled for a single faucet hole. Debris (old countertop) was removed. Estimate, templating, and installation all occurred within exactly ONE WEEK. Wham! Bam! GLAM!
