John's Reliable Plumbing & Drain Cleaning

I called on a Sunday night and Tom answered and told me they owuld have someone call between 8 and 10 am to come out the next day. That's exactly what happened. Jason performed the work and was respectful, professional and left things nice than when he arrived.

This was the second time we used John's reliable for plumbing issues in our home. Last summer Adam from John's Reliable fixed a pipe for us outside. Even though they were outside of our service area, they agreed to come and help us. So when our water heater broke, we called them again. Their price was competitive and fair. Adam came again with another person and they were both extremely polite and professional. They arrived on time, helped me move my car because I had two young children in the house, explained everything they were doing, they were neat, fast, and did a great job. I felt completely comfortable having them in my home, and I even left the house because I had an obligation so they finished up and locked the door. Very satisfied.

The plumber called me 30 minutes before arriving to tell me he was on his way. He was right on time, quickly assessed the work needed on the bathroom sink, provided an estimate and got right to work. In addition to replacing my sink faucet and drain, he also assessed the condition of the surrounding equipment. He replaced my water supply lines because they were in poorer condition. He assessed my sink trap and drain, pointing out areas of concern and thoroughly tested (after faucet install) to ensure there were no leaks. He also discovered my counter top had not been attached to my vanity base and corrected that issue. He clearly explained all issues and concerns and encouraged me to look at items myself. He was very knowledgeable about the different types of manufacture's fixtures and their level of quality. He then set about looking at the shower/tub diverter. This turned out to be a bigger issue because my tub spigot is connected to soft copper pipe - someone had already attempted to replace the diverter in the past (before I owned the house) and had completely twisted the copper pipe into a knot - which also explained issues I was having with water flow and a high-pitched noise the water made flowing through the spigot. I liked the fact that the plumber walked me through the issues and encouraged me to check it out for myself (you could clearly feel the twist in the pipe and see how difficult it would be to replace due to it's placement against 2x4's and backer-board. Because I plan to eventually remodel that tub and enlarge the plumbing access area, I decided to wait on any repairs to the diverter system until I do the remodel - it will be cheaper and easier to repair during a full remodel. The plumber gave me a potential "home remedy" for the stuck diverter which has helped. As a price comparison, I had this same job quoted by another well-known plumbing company and they quoted $726 (without even knowing the detail of the diverter issue). Overall, I was pleased that the plumber was very upfront, provided options and ensured a quality job was done. Total visit time was about 2 hours.

He was able to do the work, and he fixed it. We didn't have to spend thousands of Dollars. They are really friendly, honest, and didn't try to gauge me. They could have easily done that, and they didn't. The cost wasn't that much. They also replaced my hot water heater later.

I’ve been using them for over 20 years. They have people on call all the time and you can always depend on them. They are extremely efficient, knowledgeable, and so clean you wouldn’t know they were in your home. It’s always a lovely experience.

Too much pasta went down the kitchen sink drain and clogged it up. It took Adam about an hour and a half of snaking the drain to get the blockage removed. He spent a bit of time analyzing the situation and then started working on the drain. Adam was very professional and cleaned up as he went. I will use again if the situation calls for it and I recommend to anyone for your plumbing needs.

They really live up to their name. They not only fixed the problem, but offered advice on how to avoid it in the future. They were professional and got right to work. They really know what they are doing. They called as they were on their way so I would know it was them. I will use them again.

We needed a tub drainage pipe replaced. It was quick, easy and efficient!

Tom and Ron were delayed a bit arriving on their scheduled service date by an emergency with another customer. They called promptly to alert me about the delay and let me know what time that day they would be able to arrive. Although delayed a few hours from the original appointment, they arrived on time for the reschedule and got right to work. I thought about giving a "B" for punctuality, but if I had an emergency myself, I'd want to go to the head of the line, too. They get an "A" there for calling to let me know what was going on and then honoring the reschedule. They replaced the main water shut off valve which was as old as the house and quite dodgy. They demo'd the old fixtures, replaced with the new ones, replaced or added shut off valves where needed, and cleaned up all the debris, including the old fixtures. They were courteous and friendly and readily responded to any questions about what they were doing. When I called to set the appointment, Tom was helpful discussing what brands of fixtures to avoid and which, in their experience gave the best long term service. There was a fair amount of work scheduled, but they jump right in and got everything done, including the cleanup, pretty quickly.

We were having issues with a toilet not flushing well and our usual plumber had recommended replacing the drain pipe for that toilet and adjacent sink because it had not been pitched correctly when installed. This was a big job and our plumber had given us an estimate for over $2,000. I wanted another opinion as to whether this was the proper solution to the problem. I called John's and set up an appointment for Saturday. On Friday, Dave from John's called me and said he had finished a job early and could come that day, which was great because I wanted to get an answer ASAP. Dave came and spent over an hour diagnosing the problem and explaining it to me. He removed the trap in the sink as part of the evaluation and put in a new nut when he reinstalled it. He agreed with what our plumber had said was the problem and basically proposed fixing it in an identical manner. His estimate was about $150 higher than what our plumber had proposed, but we have a service contract with them and get a discount, so really the estimates were very close. I decided to use our regular plumber since I am happy with them and they are doing other work for me. However, If I have a drain issue in the future, I would definitely consider using John's Reliable Plumbing. They did not charge me anything for the time spent or the trip to my house. I'm know others would have.

We realized we were not getting hot water on Sunday and discovered the water heater was not lit and there was a bit of water on the basement floor. We immediately checked Angie's list to find someone who could diagnose the problem. I called John's based on reviews and immediately got a plumber on the phone (no just voice mail as expected on a Sunday evening). He asked some very good questions and to get a good idea of what we might need and arranged to come out Monday morning and look at the problem. Dan called at 8:00 am Monday and said he would arrive at our house at 8:30. He arrived on time and immediately got down to business. He looked at the water heater, diagnosed the problem as a leaking tank and went to his truck to make some calls and see if it was still under warranty. The water heater was new when we purchased the house 5 years ago. Unfortunately it wasn't but we were happy he took the extra step to find out. Dan then told us what it would cost to replace the water heater and that he could install it right away. Again he made a quick phone call from his truck, picked up a new water heater from his warehouse and got the new one installed and up and running by 12 noon. This has got to be one of the easiest home repair jobs we've ever had. I definitely recommend John's Reliable to any one looking for help fast.

Arrived on time and went to work, very pleasant & professional. Brought in new Hot Water Heater put down tarp to protect rug. Went to work draining and removing old water heater. Installed New water Heater. Filled and turned heater on. Removed old Water heater. Very neat and clean would never even know anyone was here. I would highly recommend them and will use them again.

Jason did an excellent job in replacing shower head and shower faucet for me. Materials are included in his quote. The price is fairly reasonable. The work quality is great. I'll definitely use this company for my future plumbing needs.

sewer line backed up into basement. called another company that cleared the line line half way and wanted to charge me $5000 to finish the job by excavating the entire cleanout by breaking up the sidewalk in the front yard. should have called Tom at John's Reliable first. Ron came out an hour after I spoke to Tom. He used a couple of different attachments on the snake and my line was clear. honest guys. saved me $4700!

It went fine. The service technician was helpful in describing the options that were available to us and then working actually to solve the problem.

The job was accomplished in a professional anner, with a one month guarantee of the work done.

He said if we had an issue with the services, we can call him back and he would fix it.

I've had the guys from John Reliable out a few times now. They are always polite, punctual, and professional . As a new home owner I generally have lots of questions regarding plumbing type issues and they're always happy to answer my questions. I'd recommend them to anyone who needs a good plumber.

I have used John's Reliable Plumbing for several jobs in my house. While the level of knowledge and expertise is good, I don't like the fact that they leave the construction materials for us to remove. A year and a half ago, we had John's put in 2 new vanity sinks. They left the sinks and the cabinets for us to remove. Our trash removal service has made it explicitly clear that they do not remove construction materials. I had called John's at the time to see if they would come back and take it. It took several calls, without return calls, so my husband finally cut everything up and put it out with the trash, which they did take. Yesterday, we had a utility sink put in our laundry room. Initially I was quoted at $275, but it wound up costing $525. I understood, as it took the plumber about 5 hours to complete....it needed all new plumbing underneath. All-in-all, I like the way it turned out. However, he left the old utility sink, box it came in, and all the old plumbing sitting in our driveway for us to deal with again!! UGH! The plumber had an enormous van. It would have been nice and courteous if he would have taken it away for us, particularly since we paid double what we were initially quoted. I called Tom last evening and told him this is the second time they have done this, and he has assured me that if the trash people don't take it today, they will come back and get it.

Setup appt with Tom yesterday and confirmed someone would arrive today between 4:15 and 5pm. Adam arrived on time at 4:15pm. Looked at the problem and repaired it quickly. He was professional and courteous. I had also inquired about doing some additional work at another time. I was very happy with John's Reliable Plumbing. Would definitely use again.
