Dealing with Paragon contractors was a nightmare! We had mini splits installed April/May 2019. By the summer of 2021, we started to have issues with the mini splits not producing cool air. I reached out to the owner Alan who sent his crew to our home on multiple occasions (May, July and August) to refill the coolant that was leaking out, despite being told they could find nothing wrong. Paragon also placed dye into the system (more than once) but we were still told there were no issues found. I placed emails to Fujitsu in Oct 2021, Nov 2021 and Dec of 2021 never hearing back from them either. January of 2022 I had another company (J&A) come out to look at the system bc I was not getting any answers from Alan. J&A had us turn off the system completely, saying we were causing damage to the units. We spent well over 1k with J&A trying to figure out what was wrong (tightening connectors, checking lines, refilling coolant) and had them back out in July of 2022 bc the units were still only producing warm air. During the July visit we were told that the product used around the lines was actually causing small holes in the lines and that is why there was leakage happening. Reached back out to Alan and also called Fujitsu. Fujitsu told us (as I understood it) that although Paragon uses their products that’s where that relationship ends and that they should have reached out to Fujitsu when the issues started to happen, unless of course it was not a product issue but an installation issue which is exactly what it was. I asked Alan why he never reported the issue to Fujitsu and he said he never thought about it. J&A gave us a quote well over 10k to replace the lines and the quote from Alan wasn’t much different. However, at this point I had lost all trust in him and his business. Fujitsu told us that we had a claim against Paragon(to the best of my recollection), as I have records, receipts, emails and phone calls documenting all contact, but bc it was an installation issue there was nothing they could do to help us. For any installation issues, as I understood had to go thru Paragon since they were the installers. 2023 I placed a call to Unique Indoor, Unique came out and completely replaced the entire system. Never again will I make such a huge financial decision using a mediocre company. We wasted well over 10k on a system installed wrong, by a company who was nothing but deceitful to us the entire 2 years of trying to rectify the wrong they did. If you’re thinking about installing mini splits in your home I can not stress enough how important is is to use a reputable company such as Unique Indoor who pride themselves on not only their work but customer satisfaction. They guarantee not only their products but the work they do. If you don’t want the headache don’t use this company or products like “F*-sh*t-su” (which is what some of the workers installing our new system referred to Fujitsu as). I would recommend Unique Indoor to any and everyone and would not wish the headache Paragon caused myself or wallet on anyone! Terrible customer service and terrible business practice to not stand on your work

I was referred to Paragon Contractors, LLC by a neighbor of mine who is a contractor. When the owner, Alan Greenberg, arrived for the inspection and estimate I got a very solid feeling about him. He sounded like he really knew what he was talking about and he didn't try to up-sell me on models or features that I don't need. I eventually chose Alan out of the five estimates I'd gotten and he scheduled the work for early the next week. The installation went smoothly. His workers were very respectful of my house, my pets, and the fact that social distancing is needed due to the coronavirus pandemic. After the work was completed Alan called me to check on things and make sure I was satisfied with the project and that I knew how to operate the system. He even helped me with the manufacturer product registration (to extend the warranty period) and with filing the rebate application with my utility provider (PECO, here in Philadelphia). I'm now looking forward to a comfortable summer season and I'll definitely recommend Paragon to anyone I know in the Philly area who's looking for HVAC work!

I learned at a very inopportune time (when it was starting to get cool outside), that my home heater was not working. I feared that the heater repair would be another expensive investment in a series of repairs that I'd need to make in an old house that I inherited. I was dismayed at the prospect of fixing a major appliance. As I started contacting HVAC contractors to make the repair, I was even more dismayed at the treatment I received from a couple of them. Initially, I contacted Nelson Plumbing & Heating, as an old Nelson sticker was on the side of my heater in the basement. I made an appointment with the company for an estimate; I had to use a vacation day to be home from work to meet the contractor. The Nelson company neither came nor called to cancel the appointment. Perhaps this is a routine occurrence in the "world of estimates," but I found it incredibly insulting and unprofessional. Ultimately, I contacted Paragon, reaching Alan Greenberg right away. Alan sent someone out at an agreed upon time to take a look at the boiler. It turned out that the repair was fairly minor and not the total replacement heating system that I feared. I would definitely contact Alan and Paragon for any future work.

It seemed to go well and the system seemed to worked well untill this year. When the electronics for the Lochinvar-Cadet boiler failed in January 2016, we found out that Paragon had not given us the high-end gas boiler but a cheaper version that is not so highly rated. They also had cut corners by pairing two incompatible metals in pipe joints, which led to corrosion and costly replacement. They also failed to install an acid neutralizer kit, which led to further corrosion, necessitating replacement of the drain pipe under the basement sink, which was badly eaten away and possibly damaging the main drain pipe to the street. Repairs have cost us about $2,500 just in the past month - January to February 2016. Soon after instalation in October 2012, Alan Greenberg, the proprietor of Paragon, became unresponsive to emails or phone messages left on the company's voice mail, despite our repeated attempts to contact them, as recently as December 2015, even before the system had a breakdown. We regret having recommended them to others.

Alan did an excellent job of analyzing the size and structure of the house and figuring out the least invasive and most efficient way to install the duct work and the air handling units. The team was thorough and responsible. The system seems to have been sized perfectly and held up to a brutal July. Alan followed up with guidance about how to use the system and also helped with applying for applicable rebates.

Excellent. They gave me a time-frame for estimated time for service man to arrive. The service man kept in contact with me so I knew when he was on his way. He quickly and efficiently installed the new thermostat, and then did the boiler maintenance check. He showed me the parts that he removed, cleaned and checked, etc.

Paragon Contractors worked very fast. Our AC system broke down in the middle of a heatwave. Alan Greenberg responded to my call immediately, set up service promptly, and gave us a fair price. I found him to be incredibly trust worthy and dependable. I highly recommend Paragon to anyone needing AC/heating service.
