Called 3 contractors and all came and troubleshot the problem and gave me an estimate of repair. Equitable was the only one to charge me for this service call and actually had the nerve to say he could have charged me extra because he got there after 5 pm. I didn't request anyone come ASAP.

I purchased an air conditioning unit from this company in 2010 and have used them for maintenance on the AC and Furnace since then. They call each fall and spring to dispatch repairmen to check each unit prior to usage. I religiously arranged for the company a visit from a repairman, however prior to the repairman's arrival I needed to use the AC but it did not work. I called the company and they stated that they would dispatch a repairman and would call prior to his arrival. After a week, I did not receive a call or a visit from a repairperson I called the company and they said that they would send out a repairman and would call after 1:00PM prior to his visit. I called the company at 4:00PM and the dispatcher said that the repairman had called and that since it was after 4:00PM I would have to pay a high service fee just for the person to arrive. I stated that I did not receive a call or a message from anyone at the company and I felt that it was unfair to pay the charge. He emphatically stated that the repairman had called whether I agree or not and in fact he questioned my credibility. As a longtime loyal customer I thought that questioning my integrity was way beyond the pale. My family and I went all weekend without airconditioning and contacted one of the owners of the company on Monday and I explained my discussion with the dispatcher. The owner felt obligated to reprimand me on my conversation with his dispatcher. In my anger I told the dispatcher "if he cannot do his job then he needed to find another job." I am a business owner and I am a firm believer that customer service is essential in a business's success and when you criticized and challenging your customer's credibility then it needs to be aired, so that other potential customer are informed about the company. In a word the customer relations of this company I found to be appalling and disturbing!

It was in the cold days of the winter. I had to get whoever could come here first. I was very displeased with them, because of the price. I'm not going to quibble with them about that. Unfortunately, I needed them. They came. I got the part. I learned a lesson. There was no air conditioning with that. It was for just the furnace. The guy tried to tell me it was the only one he had. It was zero degrees outside, I had to get it. That is it. I will never use their services again.

Jim came out to do the estimate. He was on time and very friendly, personable and knowledgeable. They came up with a good estimate and was able to meet a competitor's price. The only reason that we did not use this contractor is that I couldn't find any reviews online. I really really wanted to pick them because it's a family owned business and everyone I spoke with was exceptionally nice and helpful. I ended up going with a company that offered the same price for comparable equipment and services,but who had a lot of excellent reviews on Angie's List and on the web. I hope my review of my positive experience will help someone else make the leap of faith that I wasn't able to.
