I have been using them for 20 years.

They are excellent. They've been competitive. I've been using them for a long time. I've never had to bring them back because they didn't do the work correctly the first time. A lot of times we had them, they would actually try to fit us in the schedule so that they could get there soon. They were always on time whenever they said they are going to be there. What keeps me going back is that you develop a relationship with them over the years and you know them. People do business with people they know and trust.

I had annual maintenance contract with them for my heating and cooling and this year I ask them because I may move before the year is out I ask them about not signing any maintenance contract for a year but I still want to continue to use them so they are doing a case by case scheduling twice a year that's the setup I have now and they did something this spring probably in March. Acceptable moderate price for the agreement, reminder when the two annual service before the heating and before the cooling season the reminders of the scheduling it was just nuisance free way for me to make sure what needed to be done got done and to have someone on call and they have been good in those respects unfortunately I haven't had to do any major things yet.

Originally the work seemed good. We had no complaints about them. Over the years they have had to come out so many times from problems on the system. The fan in the furnace completely blew apart and they had to replace it. One other summer, the air conditioning stopped working, because a wire vibrated loose and shorted out because it was against the metal heat pump housing. The heat pump is so loud that you could barely sit on the deck and talk around it. The last time they were out was about a month ago because we had no air condition, but the heat pump was constantly running. They came out and replaced some small parts but told us the freon was fine. The sent us a bill for over $500. We complained about the amount of the bill, which they told us it was partially our problem because we didn't have their maintenance agreement. This is an all electric system. There isn't any maintenance to be done. Two weeks later, we ended up with the same problem. We called them again and they came out, got it running, but now, it is louder than ever and we will need a new compressor. We also got another bill for over $100. All they did was super start the system. Moral of the story....the company is responsive, but the equipment they sell isn't worth a dime and your going to pay through the nose for repairs. With all the service calls we have had to have them come here, we could have already bought another system.

We had multiple quotes done for our a/c when the heat pump went out. We burn wood as our primary source of heat and have electric baseboard in the house as well. Of the 3 companies that quoted us, Rodney B. Smith was the only contractor honest enough to tell us upfront that installing another heat pump was a waste of money and we'd never recoup the additional upfront costs that a heat pump has over a central air unit if we didn't use it as our primary source of heat. They were honest, polite, and easy to work with throughout the whole process. They were also the only contractor who didn't think all the duct work should be replaced, that only one section of it that had been walked on should be replaced. They wanted half the cost upfront to order the parts, which is normal. The other half was due after project completion. Installation went great. Their two techs were generally all-around nice guys. They arrived on time, they did what they needed to do quickly, they were neat and clean, and they had the job done when they said they would. Everyone at Rodney B. Smith was a pleasure to work with and talk to. We highly recommend them and will use them again in the future as the need arises.

Phil is great. Very personable and knowledgeable. Excellent and prompt service. We have had Phil service our system in a previous house over the years and would recommend the company.

Technician came and installed our new gas dryer.

Basically, the service was great. They even offered solutions to get us through the weekend since they couldn't be over until Monday. They made sure my family didn't freeze to death.

I called around March 2011 to get an estimate on removing our old tub and tile surround and having a new tub and surround installed. The original estimate was for $1600 approximately. After some thought, I decided it could wait a little bit so I did not schedule the work. A few months later, in June, I realized the tile was worse off than I originally thought and that this job needed to be done very soon. I called back to confirm my estimate and schedule an appointment. I was told that they would have to revise my estimate because they are only good for 30 days and that they wanted to send out a second guy to take a look and see what the original guy who came out was talking about with the work involved. I obliged and the second guy came out with in a few days. I called a few days later to see if they had a new estimate for me yet because I hadn't heard from them. My jaw about hit the floor when I was told the new estimate was over $5000. I asked why and was told that it was their busy time of the year now. Seriously? No additional work, exact same job, exact same opinion from both people who came out and yet an increase like that over a 3 month time frame? The lady said she would send the estimate out in writing for me to look over and sign and then set up an appointment to do the job. In the time that I was waiting on the written estimate, so that I could decline of course, I had called Braxton Plumbing, got an estimate, and had the job completed satisfactorily. Here it is, almost 2 years later, and I have yet to receive that estimate. If that is the way they choose to run their business that is their choice, however, it is my choice to never do business with them again!

They were running a little late that morning...but aren't plumbers always? They called to let us know so we certainly can't complain about it. The plumber arrived and installed the new toilet and even upgraded us to a better wax ring (we had read reviews online that the one that came with the toilet was junk and he opted to fix it without us even asking him too). He cut some pipes out of the basement because the original plumbing was a DIY nightmare and the toilet no longer drains back into the bathtub line when flushed. He was in and out in about an hour, was clean, polite and professional. Best part is, our bill was about $100 lower than the estimate! Great service, we will certainly be calling them again.

He does a good job. Very reliable and helpful.

They always call to check if everything is fine with that day for the appointment. They are very courteous and clean. They cleared everything and I didn't have to worry about clearing anything. It is a good experience. They are good company. I would use them in the future.

They have been out several times for service and installation. We are always pleased with their work. They are very quick. They come on holidays and weekends.

After attempting a D.I.Y. repair of the leaky faucet in our Master Bathroom with a kit from the local Home Improvement store, it didn't take long for me to discover that the instructions didn't include ALL the necessary information; like and quot;what to do when your water main valve doesn't close all the way.and quot; So after and quot;turning offand quot; our water main valve we disassembled the shower faucet only to be met with an uncontrollable stream of water pouring into our bathroom. The pressure was too great for us to put the old pieces back in place and we had a real mess on our hands. We made a late evening phone call to Rodney B Smith plumbing and a plumber was at our house within an hour. He quickly assessed the situation and had to turn the water off from the street. He was able to reassemble our old fixture and get the water turned back on to the house within a short amount of time and said that the office would call us to set up an appointment to return and fix the problems during regular hours. (we really appreciated the EMERGENCY service being handled separately than the standard repair service since there is a difference of $75/hour between the two) As promised, the office called the next business day and quickly sent a second plumber out to begin the necessary repairs. It took two visits to first replace the water main valve and then to order the proper faucet replacement kits for our shower, but when it was finally completed (the job I thought I would do by myself one Friday night), we were extremely satisfied with the work that was done. Although it would have been nice to do-it-myself for the price of a Home Improvement store kit, I really wish I would have just called the plumber in the first place. In the future, you can be assured we will call Rodney B. Smith plumbing again.
