We brought in our all-in-one computer because it stopped allowing us to connect to the internet and regardless of what we or the manufacturer tried to do - nothing worked. I had heard from a friend that Jay would be able to help. I brought the unit in, was given the opportunity to explain the problem in my own words and left the computer. Within a few days I was called and told that the unit was; I picked it up and it has worked perfectly since. I would use this business again for any/all computer needs and/or repairs
Description of Work: Repaired a relatively new all-in-one computer that (all of a sudden) would not access the internet..

I have a friend who rode with me to take a laptop out to have a repair done, The repair was supposed to cost $125 I had heard that they have done A lot of this kind of repair so I was confident they would be able to handle it even after this friend told me that her and her dad had taken a laptop out there for a repair years earlier, and got it back with a broken screen, Which Keck PC management refused to repair and denied liability. So needless to say it?s the same people running it as before but I thought well I have to have it done and no one else does it around here so I dropped it off Jay tested the PC and wrote in the notes what needed done and that the battery had a charge and the laptop fired up, then i was told it would be done by the end of the following week so I called on Friday the next week and the part was in but repair was not made. So I called back Tuesday repair was done but repairman Jay said "The laptop was acting screwy when he turned it on and he needed a couple more hours to go over his work and make sure he didn't miss anything, he just had to wait for a little bit because it was on charge, so a few hours later I tried to call out a few times and was getting no answer , but I needed to run some errands and they were going to bring me close to where Kecks is located so I decided to stop by, Upon speaking with Jay about the laptop he said he was not able to figure out what was wrong and that he needed more time to tear it back down and make sure it wasn't a problem with the hard drive" Then he said something very surprising, he said "I'm not sure if it ran right when you dropped it off or not" I said WHAT, you stood right there and fired it up in front of me and the person I brought with me, and look right here you wrote it down that it fires up on the paperwork, he then proceeded to say, "That was based on what you guys told me when you dropped it off" Really? after how many years of being in business your telling me that you take the customers word on the operational condition of a machine when they drop it for service? No you don't and you didn't the day I dropped off this laptop either. So after he stood there and lied to me about me to my face I decided I no longer trusted him and I feel I need to trust you in order to let you make repairs to equipment I need repairs done on, so I tell Jay to go get the Laptop I want to take it with me because I no longer trust him to make repairs for me, he says to let me put the last few screws in it and does so and brings it out. so I open it and hit the power button and it comes on and goes right back off so I ask him if that?s what he calls screwy and he says he didn't get a chance to charge it. But if you recall he told me on the phone that he had to wait for it to charge to start tearing it down again. So I ask him how much that DC jack cost and he said 15-20 Dollars. at that point I picked up the laptop and left. Now since I know there is 3 stores I decided to call the 800 number on my paperwork and I started tell this whole story to Norman in Shippensburg store and right away he started defending Jay in the St. Thomas store so I finally decide I am at a loss on this one, but at least I can try to warn others, I hang up the phone and remember the friend I said rode with me to drop off the laptop She told me that same bull is what her Dad went through a couple year earlier, and they ended up eating the loss as well. So I decided to take a look at this laptop and first thing I notice he put the hard drive back in the wrong slot and there are a lot of missing screws next I want to tell you all the battery would not charge on this so I ordered a brand new battery when I got it there was an 85% charge on it so I used the laptop long enough to clean up some files and got down to 44% when I plugged it in and realized it wasn't charging so I shut it down there was 38% when it shut down and when he fired it up when I dropped it off there was 37% so back where I was the mouse pad has what looks like a little belt of wires that runs from the underside of the mouse pad to the connector an couple inches anyway so as I am tearing this thing down I notice he made little mark on these connectors so when putting it back together he would be able to tell when he has it seated properly in the connector well along the way i see that the one for the mouse pad isn't fully seated, then upon a little investigation I realize it is exactly where it would be I he had forgot to seat it in the first place, so the Battery does charge now but I am unable to find the root of the problem that Jay caused with it immediately shutting down after starting it up, but when it has power it does a cycling thing over and over it begins to boot but never staying on long 2 seconds max
Description of Work: Well he put a new DC Jack into a laptop that was the repair I needed done.
