Alleman's Communication

The owner had visited my home in February to investigate why a satellite box he had sold me in 2011 was no longer working. He discovered that a surge had probably affected it and offered me a temporary one until he could get me a new one. He e-mailed me to let me know that a new one would cost $270. I agreed to purchase a new one through him. In 2011, he installed a satellite dish, a satellite box, and all necessary wiring for a very reasonable rate, so I trusted his work. When we were presented with the bill, which included labor charges from the previous visit in February, I was hit with a total charge of $640. In total, the work did not take more than an hour during either visit. Instead, he spent much of his time chatting with us and trying to calibrate the channels we were receiving. My wife and I noted how high the labor charge was. He dismissed our protests and mentioned that we should send the bill to our home insurance and establish a claim based on the surge. I have had plumbers, electricians, even roofers do work on my home for less of an hourly labor charge than I was hit with from this provider. The work is quality, but I'll take my needs elsewhere in the future.
