They were fantastic. They were very professional, timely and very dependable. The price was very affordable. I have tried other contractors or handymen, and they are just not dependable. They say that they will be there at a certain time, but they won't be there. Shane is good. His dependability is great. He does great workmanship. He takes pride in his work and it shows. If I need work done, I will call him up.
Description of Work: Holly Hammer Contracting did some structural work. His name is Shane. I had some rotted eaves in my roof and he replaced everything. He also gutted half my floor, did some wall framing and insulation.

I spent weeks getting stood up by contractors and got extremely ludicrous quotes. (This was my Pre-Angie's List days!) While this was happening, I went to a friend's house who had just finished some renovations. I've been going to her house for years, and she always sang songs of praise about this guy who did the renovation work for her through the years. On this latest visit, I asked her for his contact info. I called Shane Cooper up soon thereafter. Shane was a breath of fresh air! He was very friendly over the phone and responsive with communications. We quickly set up a walk-through appointment. As he walked through what I needed, he gave his open opinion on everything, approaching everything like it was own house. (If this was his house, this is what he'd do.) Once he took the full situation in and figured out what was needed, he gave me his quote. I was floored; it was a quarter of what most of the contractors I'd talked to before were giving me, and exactly what I'd estimated. He estimated based on his hourly rate and the materials he needed. We scheduled when he'd do the work easily. On the day he was set to work, Shane arrived promptly. I couldn't have ask for better workmanship. He even went above and beyond the solution we'd discussed, because as he started working through the situation, what we'd discussed was not sufficient. (There was more deterioration that we'd initially seen.) And he installed additional beam brackets for support. Not only this, but he patiently answered all questions my older mother had about what he was doing. This somehow ended up in Shane teaching her about the ventilation system of the house. My Mom was very content with her lesson and with Shane. That right there is absolutely priceless for me. In the end, the actual bill was less than his quote since it didn't take as long as he'd expected - he only charged for the time that he spent. I've had him come back to complete the insulation for that room, too. Again, a great all-round experience. If I could, I'd give him an A++!
Description of Work: Soon after purchasing a new home, I discovered there had been a long-standing roof leak that had deteriorated all the structural joists and beams supporting the balcony above my home-office; the structure had been fixed years ago, but even that was rotted. I needed the crumbling joists, beams and sill beam replaced without affecting the newly replaced roof. This was not something I was willing to take on myself; I needed someone with experience for this job.
