Estates Chimney Sweep Inc

We did a lot of research prior to choosing who would install the fireplace insert. The prices were all very similar but because Estates had an excellent rating on Angie's List and were so responsive to our needs, we chose them to do the work. They came on one of the coldest days of the year and worked in brutally cold conditions in our family room which had no heat at all. They worked very hard, did a beautiful job and left our house clean. They explained how it worked to us more than once and were very patient and professional. We recommend Estates Chimney highly and would hire them again. They were GREAT!

Appointment was made months in advance, including discussion of what was to be done (i.e. clean chimney only, on a gas fireplace in a 2-story great room), price was agreed upon as well ($110.00). Chimney sweep called morning of appointment to say they could be there in 20 minutes. Address was confirmed as well as price (again). When the 2 guys showed up they came in, put blankets in front of the chimney, then (in front of my dad) proceeded to say, "Before we get started...the price we quoted you was based on you also hiring us to clean your heating system (never discussed or even mentioned). I replied, "That was never discussed or mentioned, period." The lead guy replied, "Well, for a chimney like this, in January, we're looking at $240.00. I was very annoyed. IMHO, these men tried to shake us down for double the price for the same service and (several times over) agreed upon price. They knew in advance that it was a gas chimney, how tall it was, how old the house was, etc. They knew everything, and there was NEVER any mention of a price being based on cleaning our fuel system. In fact, our fuel system was never discussed or mentioned at all. I told them, in front of a witness, "That's not going to fly. Have a nice day." They packed up and left. I would caution anyone from doing business with these people.

I would highly recommend this company to anyone needing chimney services. They were prompt, professional, and responded professionally to all requests.

They were quick, courteous, very well priced, and easy to work with. We purchased the logs at their store and then about 3 weeks later they arrived to install the logs and convert the fireplace. They looked for the best option in running gas lines and converted the fireplace in a manner that it can be converted back in the future should a future homeowner want wood burning. He was quick and cleaned up completely after himself.

They did a fine job, no problems. They were conscious about keeping the area clean and protecting the floors and stuff. I'm sure they were prompt.

Bought a new house in Quakertown and scheduled the chimney to be cleaned as per inspection report so we could use the fireplace. The soonest appointment the provider could give me was a month wait. I had some reservations about using this provider because a recent review on Angieslist indicated that her appointment was cancelled the day the work was to be done due to illness of staff. But most of the reviews were positive so I took a chance. Provider confirmed my appointment by phone the day prior to our scheduled work date. They called the morning they were scheduled to come because someone called in sick. The next date they could offer was Jan 7th, a full 6 weeks later. They did offer me a 30% discount if I wanted them to come in January. I told them my old chimney sweep from the area I had just moved from was coming today. I guess if you don't mind waiting a month for an initial appointment and another 6 weeks if someone gets sick they are a good provider to use. That doesn't work for me and I would never use them again or recommend them.

I have used them for 12 years and they are very cooperative and would recommend them.

We are renovating a 1970's colonial. One of the last projects on the first floor was to convert a wood burning fireplace to gas. We looked at three different stores for styles, prices and if they would do the entire project of sub it out. We went to Estates Chimney Sweep and loved the line of insert. They were very professional, prices were competitive and because we were getting this done before the season able to schedule it quickly. When the installers came they were respectful of our time, property and project. When they had to run the gas line I asked if they could run in to the corner of the house so it would be easy to tap in at a future date for an outdoor kitchen. The project was completed in no time. They explained how to operate it and it is beautiful. Home that we can get a lot of enjoyment out of it this fall/winter!! We hope to add a fireplace in the basement someday and will be using them again.

I made appointment over a month ago and missed out on plans for the weekend due to this appointment . They even called me to confirm the day before. But they failed to show up. I did receive a call 30 mins after they were supposed to show up to reschedule for another 3 weeks from now. Needless to say I'm super p*****!!!

They were right on time, both arriving and in the estimated time the install would take. Extremely conscientious of keeping things clean before, during, and after the install. Super friendly and informative. I would HIGHLY recommend this company, and will be using them again!

Tony & Andy showed up right on time and got right to work. They removed the old chimney cap which had a couple of scratches on it. Then the chase cover. They took down the cap and took it apart and painted it with a heat proof paint. Then they installed and caulked the new chase cover, then the replaced the cap. They did a really clean nice job, and I even got a discount using an Angie's list coupon, The original price was 1165.00, it came down to 1106.75. Another fine job by Estates!! Everything went beautifully! The men arrived at the stated time and their care and concern for our home was evident. They removed their shoes and took all necessary precautions to minimize the mess, dust and dirt. They efficiently cleaned out and checked the mechanisms on our fireplaces and performed the necessary repairs/adjustments on one of these. They cleaned the glass on all three and put everything back in working order. They were efficient and knowledgeable in response to my questions, and very polite. I am thrilled with their work and would definitely give them the strongest recommendation.

The experience from start to finish was great! I made an appointment for Dean to come to the house and he arrived exactly when he said he'd be here, was professional and answered all of my questions. Tony and Jason installed the gas insert. Again, arrived on time , were professional. After the installation explained how it worked, maintenance I would need to do and assured me if I had any questions in the future they'd be happy to come back again. The work they did was exceptional! I would definitely recommend them, you'll not be disappointed.

It was fine. They came when they said they are going to come and they did a good job.

Overkill/exaggeration of recommendation for repairs needed. I had 2 other inspections done. Estates Chimney said a poured liner or a fireplace insert was needed for the fireplace flue. Niether was needed per the other two inspections. BTW Estates sells inserts & liners. Jamison Chimney Services (recommended on Angies List), was professional and honest with thier inspection. Cleaned and inspected chimney. Mark was very polite, clean, and helpful.

Had them install a custom chimney cap on my 3-flue chimney. They measured it while I was at work, which was conveninent not to have to meet them at the house. Only took about a week to get it fabricated. Install was uneventful- they showed up on time and did the work. It was a satisfactory and trouble-free job. Wish I'd had it done 4 years ago.

Very well. We have them on the schedule for this summer. We plan to do more than just have it swept this time, and plan to use Estates. They are professional and not looking to bait and switch. We had some questions, they had some suggestions.

Showroom is great and all the people are very friendly and seem to know what they are talking about. We had some unexpected bills (vet and plumbing) after we met with them so we decided at the time to hold off the conversion. However, when the time comes we would definitely use Estates to install an insert.

Services performed in professional manner, personnel cleaned up area thoroughly after job was done. Very satisfied.
