Lost a tree after Hurricane Sandy. We called 5 companies, 3 came out to give estimates and 2 never called back. Giroud gave us an estimate for $1900! We were stunned by that price! We've never had a tree removed before so had no idea what prices were. We new it wasn't easy to access where the tree was and one company even said they didn't want the job. But Clauser gave us an esimate of $650 which seemed much more reasonable. Before Clauser could start the job, our neighbor ended up cutting most of the tree trunk and removed it. Causer finished the remaining trunk last week. Since so many trees are down in the area they said they will be back to grind the stump another day. We totally understand they are trying to get everyone's uprooted tress cleaned up before they grind everyone's stumps. We are very happy with their service so far, they came when they said they would and returned our calls quickly.

The sales rep was very good. He was friendly, responsive and knowledgeable. The crew showed up on time and was courteous. Overall the work was performed OK. The only problem was that the crew did not follow the plan set by the rep. The large tree was to be removed by climbing because the location was difficult but the crew decided to use a crane. This required the use of my neighbors driveway. Permission was granted by my neighbor but the crane operator moved a lattice structure without permission. This was beyond just using the driveway. After the tree was down the crew moved the crane to my driveway to move large branches to the chipper instead of a little elbow grease to cut them up. Setting up the crane did not protect my driveway and a large depression from one of the supports was put in it. The company did have the driveway repaired but it was a bad job and I now have an unsightly patch. Overall I give them a 'C' grade. The price was very good because they needed to fill the schedule. The rep was very good but it is a concern when the crew follows their own lead, causes damage and not own up to it at the time. This makes me uneasy and I would not be comfortable using that crew again.

Clauser did a great job from start to finish. They gave a good time frame for the estimate and removal. Due to Hurricane Sandy, they had a busy schedule and let me know ahead of time. Once the estimate was done, it took one day for them to complete the job. I was able to pay over the phone by Credit Card the day after they did the job.

Everything went very smoothly. I contacted them initially by email and set up the free consultation. A rep came out on the date promised and we discussed what needed to be done. He made good recommendations to maintain the health of the trees. I decided to just have the pruning done for now, not the stump or fertilization. The job was scheduled and performed on time and it looks great. I would definitely use Clauser again.

I got four separate quotes from local tree and landscaping outfits, and based on the initial estimates, Clauser seemed to be the best of the bunch for price/quality/professionalism. I'll say each company was fairly consistent with their explanations/estimates so I was comfortable I wasn't trying to be hustled. One of arborists from Clauser came out and assessed the worked needed to be done. He took the time to go over the pros/cons for different options of work (pruning vs. cabling vs. removal) on the two trees I had concerns about. He seemed very knowledgeable and didn't try to "up-sale" for additional work. We also went around and assessed the other trees on the property to get an idea if other ones would need attention in the future. On the day of work a separate team showed up a to do the work. They were a bit late but got started and took care not to damage the edges of the driveway with the big cranes they drove in. They were thorough in cleaning up and at my request left some logs for fire wood. The maple stump was ground on a separate day. Overall I am happy with the work preformed and would consider using again.

I had an arborist from another company come out to price the tree trim and he said that both trees were beyond saving and they needed to come down. I was incredibly heart broken at this news and called Clauser to get another estimate for taking down both trees. When they came out to give the estimate he asked why I wanted to take down the trees, I told him the diagnosis I received and he felt they could be saved. He gave me a price to take them both down (which was half that of the other company) and also a quote for trimming and treating with a growth regulator. He carefully explained how the treatment worked and we of course chose to go with trimming and treating. Within a week they had us scheduled and early Monday morning (but not too early) a chipper truck and bucket truck arrived and they set to work. Everything seemed to go very smoothly and when they were finished there was not a spec of debris in the yard, on the sidewalk or in the street. And they finished the job in one day and that was no easy feat. We are happy and our trees are most likely happy and I know the family of blue jays living there are happy. Update: Almost two years later and trees are doing great! We just had an ice storm two days after a snow storm and not a single branch fell. Many other trees in our neighborhood did not do so well.

The estimate appointment was on time, very professional and informative, and a very fair price. They removed 2 trees and trimmed another. 2 stumps also ground (very completely to allow tree replacement in the same spots). Everything from scheduling to stump grinding was excellent. I'm going back to them to put in new trees.

. They did a great job. They were very personable. The guy who came out was very competent. He looked over the problems and gave me reasonable ideas what to do. It was a positive experience. They came at three different times. They did not do it all one time. We needed a stump removed and that was a different operation. Then we needed the trees taped together and that was a different operation. So there were three different visits. But they scheduled, they let us know when they would be here. So their home office was very good and the people on the field were also very good. They kept us nicely informed. I will use them in the future.

The employees were very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend them. They were very, very courteous.

The mowing was done weekly, even in very dry weather.

The estimate and the communication at the beginning were good. When I asked how long the job would take, they said it will be done in one day. Came early in the morning and started cutting down the trees. I felt bad for the men because it started raining. They cut all the trees down and cut them into firewood length pieces. Then they said they would come back on another day to grind the stumps. I didn't get a call saying when they were coming back. When I called their office, I was told that they would come back to grind the stumps after WE move the tree pieces off our backyard. There was no mention of US moving the tree pieces so that they could grind the stumps in the contract. Also, when they told me that the job would be done in one day, were they planning to take a 4 hr break while my husband and I moved all the tree pieces? As angry as we were, the only way to have them come back was to clear the yard of the tree pieces ourselves, so that's what we did. It's been more than a year and a half, but I am still bitter.

They were very good, prompt, and reliable. They returned my phone calls. The owner Steve was very nice, co-operative and professional.

Amazing, these are pros. Every member of there crew was pleasant and incredibly efficient.
