Kerry was very professional both in the pre-work communications and during the progress of the installation. She often checked with me to make sure she was completing the steps we wanted without doing services we did not need or want. The installation went great was done quickly for a reasonable price.

First the demolition. Kerry and Jay removed all the tile (and walls) from around the bathtub. They also removed all the tile from around the sink, and all other walls in the bathroom. (It had been covered in tile everywhere.) They also removed all plumbing fixtures, lighting fixtures, two sinks, vanity top, medicine cabinets .... everything gutted. MAJOR point, here, as a homeowner ...... all this demolition was done without the slightest inconvenience to me. They are so NEAT, it is amazing. They are extremely considerate, and I noticed they closed the bathroom door whenever a task might be a dusty/messy one, containing the dust to that room. After demolition, the magic started. They put up a waterproof wall around the tub, which would be a basis for the new ceramic tile. They sealed the holes in the wall where the medicine cabinets had been..... and the wall is flat and perfect. No sign that anything had ever been there, at all. Kerry worked WITH me, choosing tiles, fixtures, sinks, wainscoting, colors, etc. I'll admit I'm not the best at making choices, but that is not a problem with Kerry. She makes suggestions, and offers options. When I was in doubt, I simply deferred to her, and was NEVER disappointed with her choices. Case in point were the mirrors we chose for over the vanity. She selected a mirror that I never would have considered...... and it was the PERFECT choice. Her attention to detail is extraordinary, and I think that is one of the things that makes her work so special. The lines on her grout work are so perfect, and so straight, I can't even imagine how she accomplished it. She also does "extras" that I never even considered. For instance, she suggested a dimmer on the bathroom lights, so that when taking a bath, you can have a relaxing atmosphere, not a glaring overhead light. I love it!!! And ..... woodwork! She added the most amazing woodwork on either side of the vanity. I knew woodwork was going there, but I had imaged a simple strip of wood. Instead, Kerry built a wide, deep gorgeous strip of woodwork on both sides that is simply stunning. Bottom line.... She does amazing work. Kerry is a very talented woman .... an artist, truly. She has a very busy schedule, and sometimes she has to juggle her jobs a bit. But as a customer, I am more than willing to be flexible considering the extraordinary effort, thought and talent she throws into her work. I have another bathroom in my house that needs some updating. Kerry did such a wonderful job on this bath, that I have already hired her to do the other. I'm a very happy customer. If you would like to see her work, just contact her and we'll make arrangements for you to visit here.
Description of Work: Complete bathroom remodel. Kerry changed our bathroom from an ugly 1959 dinosaur to a beautiful, modern oasis of wonderful-ness.

Our house is well over 60 years old, and it has been neglected, so there are many things that need doing. One of those things had developed into a major problem. In our master bathroom, we have a stall shower with a glass door that opens and closes like a regular door. However, after 60 years of use, it no longer stays shut. I have to use a bungie cord on the inside to keep in semi-closed when taking a shower. This may not sound like a huge problem, but the solution has been elusive. Over the last few years I have had several people look at it, including a plumber and a well-respected home-repair person, and all have walked away. Unrepairable, they said. AND.... since the base of the shower is an unusual shape, they shook their heads at the possibility of a new enclosure. Kerry took one look at the situation and put her mind to the solution. She came up with an idea to fix it, and I can't wait to see the result. I'm so excited to have a shower door that closes once again! I think this is a REALLY important point about this provider. She TRULY throws herself into the problem and works toward a solution. Those other fellows shrugged it off and, bluntly, couldn't be bothered. Kerry responds to the issue with a "can do!" attitude that is so refreshing!!! and MUCH appreciated.

I smile when I read this question: "What did the provider do?" ..... What did she do? She saved me from a LOT of inconvenience and very possibly personal injury. She is a lifesaver!! My house is three levels, with a toilet upstairs and another down on the bottom of the house. On an icy, snowy, miserable day this past week, the upstairs toilet died. Although there is another toilet in this house, I am a person-of-a-certain age, with, unfortunately the need to visit the toilet many times throughout the night. Having only a toilet on the bottom level would have been downright dangerous for me to navigate the stairs when it was dark and I was tired. I knew we needed a new toilet installed ....and I also knew that an ice storm was about to descend on our area. I called Kerry. She was sensitive and caring toward my situation, and immediately brought up the point ..herself... that my attempting to use the downstairs toilet all night could lead to injury. I give her an A++++ for responsiveness. Before the day was over, a new toilet was installed next to my bedroom, and I never missed even a single night. I am very very grateful. (and the installation itself was done neatly.... no mess at all. She is VERY tidy!)

Once again Kerry hit a home run. Her pricing was extremely reasonable but she didn't skimp on service or quality. Everything she did was technically sound and visually attractive. She and her employees were on time, professional, neat and very knowledgeable. I have an older, historic home and some of the construction issues that came up were tricky but Kerry's solutions were always great. So if you need someone you can trust I can't recommend this provider highly enough.

I needed our baseboard heating repaired in the basement. Appointment was set up and Kerry asked for a picture of our thermostat since she thought the problem sounded like it needed to be replaced. Unfortunately, the weather caused us to cancel our first appointment, then an unexpected emergency home repair caused us to cancel the second. However, thanks to her suggestion, I purchased a thermostat and replaced it on my own (and surprised myself in the process!). Although no work was done, I was very impressed with Kerry's communication and follow-through. I really appreciate her suggestion and would absolutely call this company again for any home repairs!
Description of Work: Due to weather and unavoidable scheduling conflicts, Kerry never did any work at our home. However, her responsiveness and communication were excellent. I would not hesitate to have this company complete any home repairs in the future!

Both Kerry and her helper were nice. I was a bit annoyed that she didn't have the knowledge she said she did for installing the solar film. She asked to use my computer, which I was using. She then took quite a while to try to find the instructions on how to install the window film. I also was frustrated that she kept asking me for the tools she needed to do her job. Paint roller, which I could not find, but they did find a roller cover of mine that they used. Several other little things like that just ticked me off. I'm paying you to do a job, not to supply you with your tools too. I felt seriously ripped off when it was all finished. The job was done pretty well, but honestly, I think I paid too much. I doubt I would use her again, but was appreciative that she got the bulk of the work done before the holiday. Although, she missed my deadline for my party. So I was a bit annoyed once again.
Description of Work: Realigned a frameless single shower door, Sanded patched/spackled areas and painted them where holes had been in garage and in bedroom where curtain rod ripped out of wall. Painted one wall in garage, two windows trim, and installed solar-film on two windows.

Homeowner insisted on buying own materials and bought the wrong paint. Not only did we have to come back a second day to finish a one day job (a twenty mile one way trip), we also needed to ruin one of our brushes with an oil paint and we had already used up all our rollers with the water based latex paints. The box of window transparencies said to be sure to specifically follow that manufacturer's instructions that were not included on or in the package. When I told her they were not included she looked for the website not me. I told her I would go ahead, with her permission, and install them as I had in the past. If I would have bought the product I would have insured that someone from our company would have contacted the window film manufacturer to make sure we did not void any warranty. This customer knew how much we charged per hour and asked us to do other tasks while we were there and increased our time and the amount she paid.

We were doing a complete kitchen remodel. The Bid was the highest out of 4 of the contractors. It came down to this service provider and one other supplier out of 5. Although higher, my wife and I wanted to use this provider because of her location and convenience. The service provider came with some great ideas and experience. No were in our conversations or in writing did the provider mention a consultant fee. Reminder we did not make a decision. A week or so went by, then we received a invoice via email for 75.00 for a consultant fee. This really sent out the alarms. Afraid that this was a sign of someone who was going to nickel and dime the project, made our decision easy to go with the another contractor. My wife and I were very disappointed.

This homeowner was designing his own kitchen remodel and didn't know what he was doing and used us to answer his questions and to make sure that the work he was doing was going along appropriately. I was at his house for two and a half hours for my initial visit answering dozens of question on how each task was going to be completed. He did not have a handle on the kitchen remodel and was definitely a novice. After two phone calls to ask for advice: one on how to subcontract the tile part of the job out and how to get the best price on tile and second the second question was about the laundry room that he forgot to mention that ended up not being on the estimate. After giving him a price, he requested a detailed accounting of those monies and tasks involved, I told him that I would be happy to write up a detailed estimate but it would take me several hours of writing and kitchen planning and I wanted to make sure that we were in his ball park. He told me to go ahead and write up all of the details. A detailed design pretty much goes through each step of the renovation and details exactly what should be done one task at a time. Almost, a do it yourself step by step guide. After sending that document to him, that is when he called me to ask about subbing out all the tile work and how to get tile more cheaply than the tile place he picked was selling it to him and how much I was going to take off of my estimate for all of the tile work. After waiting for three weeks; having him tell me two times that he was going to let me know the following week, with no phone calls from him. I sent him a bill for all of the work I put into his project. This man measured and ordered his own cabinets, I understand that he wanted to save every cent he could, but I charge for kitchen planning and design, his request went way further than my original free estimate. He wanted something for free and thats not fair, this work is how I pay my bills. I told him on the bill that the amount for the kitchen design would be deducted from the original bid if we were to do the work. After I sent the bill the requests for free advice stopped. I never nickle and dime customers to death, I would rather pay for something myself or have it come out of my profit then disappoint a customer with a price other then what I quoted. He is just angry because I put a stop to the free advice, he somehow thought he was owed.
The communication for this job was lacking from the very start, although it appeared harmless in the beginning so we continued with our plans to have her do the work. The very first miscommunication involved not having a completed estimate for us. Minor. We continued on. In the days leading up to the job, we began receiving odd questions and requests that indicated an unpreparedness for the work. First she told us that we would have to provide the exterior lighting replacement fixture, again, we didn't see it as a big deal, my husband was going to head out to Home Depot with a picture of our others and figure out (hopefully) what we might need. At one point, a few e-mails never came through, confirming the dates scheduled so I was contacting her to find out what was decided. I never just don't get someone's (multiple) e-mails, but whatever, an honest mistake or a faulty e-mail server. A few days later, she asked us to measure the thickness of our sheetrock and she didn't know the area of coverage for paint on the ceiling, because she didn't measure that either. We measured and complied with what she needed. Then I got an e-mail the day before the work was to be completed, she was at Home Depot "now" and she needed me to call her right then and there. I didn't get this e-mail until 9pm that night, because I wasn't on my computer. At 10pm I received yet another e-mail asking if our garage would be available for their truck. We had just purged three rooms in our house and guess where it was all stored, in our garage. We could fit one car in there, but it would be a hazard to get through the other side to reach the entry door which was on the other side of the stored boxes and bags. I told her we could move some things and park the truck right next to the open garage door and went to bed at 11pm. The next morning we got a call an hour before the job was scheduled to start. She told my husband that they had to post pone the work, because it was too cold and we didn't have room in the garage for their truck!! Just for the record, it was snowing all day the day before the work was scheduled, it was no surprise that it was going to be "cold", the forecast was very clear about that. Why I didn't find out about them needing the garage for their truck before 10pm the night before, is highly unprofessional and indicative of poor planning. Not to mention, she never said that this detail would make or break the job! So that morning, my husband told her, he would clear room for them before they got there. At that point, she told us she had already cut her guys loose. It turns out, they had already scheduled other jobs and couldn't come after all. I spent the entire day before the job was scheduled to be done clearing out our entire kitchen so it would be free of clutter where they were working (which would be directly over our stove, sink and island). I pulled out all the things we could possibly need during the day so we could easily feed ourselves and our children while they were working. Our children have severe food allergies and very restricted diets, so we made all three of their meals, plus ours, ahead of time in order to stay out of their way all day (it was going to take two days to complete the work according to her estimate and scheduling). Thankfully my husband was home to take one of our sons to his extracurricular activities while I stayed home and prepared the house for their arrival the next day. I used much of this time to clear out all of our Christmas decorations in the room that was adjacent (and open to) the kitchen, including a 10 foot grapevine tree so that the dust from the sheetrock wouldn't end up all over it and the ornaments. Kerry told us "it was only a week"...this isn't about the delay in the work itself, we've lived with a hole in our ceiling (water damage prior) for months now so the week delay wasn't the problem, it's the significant lack of communication that ensued resulting in a whole lot of wasted work on our part, which would need to be repeated in order to have her complete the job another day next week, assuming she would be reliable enough to arrive. This could have all been avoided. She proved that she is unreliable and unprepared. Had I known that the truck going into the garage was an essential piece to the job, we could have been prepared for it. Oh and come to find out after talking with my husband, that she didn't even have the sprayer nozzle for the sink sprayer. On the morning of the job, when she was canceling, she told him to get that for her too! We have never had to provide all of these materials for a contractor before and to find out the morning of the job? Really?? Kerry really seemed like a wonderful person, she spent a lot of time with us telling us how different she was from the competition and I am sure she means well, but her method of planning is sorely flawed. Her reliability is unacceptable for a family like ours, we can't just be available for her to call us from Home Depot and run out to grab parts last minute, not to mention re-clearing out our kitchen and repairing 6 from-scratch-meals ahead of time. She actually had the nerve to suggest that I could "live with the inconvenience for a week"....no, that is why we plan ahead of time, so we don't have to live with an inconvenience for a week, for a job that will take two days. Unbelievable. Sweet woman, poor execution. I truly hate to speak negatively about anyone, and I had such high hopes for her to be our go-to contractor, I give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but this was beyond disruptive to our family and so completely unnecessary. We will be looking for another contractor. At least our kitchen and family rooms are spotless now for the overnight guests we will be having in two days (sigh).
Description of Work: We had plans for Kerry to repair sheetrock over our kitchen sink, stove and island plus some electrical work, the replacement of an exterior landscape light, the addition of recessed lighting and the replacement of our kitchen sink sprayer nozzle.

Hardly anything in the above monologue is factual. Her husband agreed from the beginning to purchase the outdoor light with my suggestion that he take a picture with him to the store. I gave them direction on how to problem solve their sprayer to try to "save" them money, and then depending on their success they would purchase the hose. They would also supply the paint; they had some in their basement for who knows how long. When people want to buy their own products its because they are tired of contractors upcharging them for materials at outrageous rates. I understand, we don't upcharge, and I don't argue about picking up materials or having customers get their own materials. The evening she refused to give us access to her garage for the following day I called my people and we all agreed that we could not work outside cutting drywall for the following two days. The temperature both days was to be below zero; and as she states in her statement, she was not able to move her car out to give us access to her garage and we could work in her driveway. Not one of my present customers would hesitate to do whatever was necessary to keep us safe and warm. Her husband did say the following day that he would move her car out but by then my people had scrambled the night before to try to fill up the days with other jobs and my electrician had been successful and her electric had to be run before the drywall was replaced. Why didn't she say the night before "sure I'll move my car out of course you can work in the garage". I did pick up the drywall the evening before because I did not want to load and unload it twice by picking it up early. I did NOT have other work planned for that day (I actually ended up taking a day without pay because of her decisions) because I had her DRYWALL IN MY TRUCK. I have a list of the emails that were sent back and forth for the Angie's list staff to see that I emailed her several times with no response from her. The contractor before us that bid on this job (according to the (member name removed)herself) refused to take the job after it was offered to him. I should have trusted my initial instincts and also refused the job. It is also not acceptable to scream at contractors on the phone. She was treated with nothing but respect and after repeated apologies from me for her angst, she hung up on me.

Kerry was very responsive, well priced and professional. She gave us an estimate for the work to be done which was both accurate and fair. She completed the work very quickly and did a wonderful job. She cleaned up after herself and was a pleasure to work with. We are preparing our house for sale and we plan to use her for several other jobs both big (bathroom renovation) and small. Like most home owners we have dealt with many people who preform home repair and construction tasks and she is one of the best, reliable and highly competent!

My home was built in 1959 and the original windows were making my life miserable. We decided to replace them all. I had gotten to know Kerry and her work from previous projects. (She built a marvelous room for me by enclosing my patio ?. look back in the reviews for more details about that awesome job!) She came and measured every window, carefully recording her needs. We talked about the project. (She LISTENS!!) I had two particular concerns to address, a tricky over-the-sink kitchen window and another with a massive window air conditioner in place. Both were problems that I thought would impact the installation, but Kerry didn?t miss a beat. She tackled them both with such ease it was as though they were never actually problems at all. Let me be VERY clear: I trust Kerry completely. If she says something should or shouldn?t be done, that is golden for me. Every decision she has made has been the perfect one, even when I was unsure at first. Once we decided on a day to begin the installation, Kerry and her crew showed up exactly on time. They removed all the windows in my house and replaced them with wonderful new double-hung delights. And although this sounds like it would be a messy job, she did it with almost NO disruption to my household!! She required (what I thought) very little clearance near each window, so there was hardly any prep involved. Most interesting to me was the work that came AFTER the windows were installed. The detail finish work. Just glorious! Window by window, Kerry and her team insulated, caulked, trimmed, smoothed, sanded and painted all the edges, both inside and out. The windows look AMAZING, and I?m so very happy that I found Kerry. I?m already thinking about the next home project that I can turn her loose on??.. I can?t wait for her to work her magic once again! I'd also like to say ......I?ve noticed here that some reviewers complain about communication issues. Not once has this been a problem for me. Kerry is very busy (because she?s so good!) ?.. so if you are having trouble getting ?started? with her, just be patient. She is absolutely, positively, worth the wait!

She never showed for the first appointment.
Description of Work: She, the owner of the business did contact us and set an appointment up. Everything went south after that. The owner told us that no job is too small. The date we set for the appraisal came and went. She, the owner, never called to re-schedule or even explain why she was a no show. The owner did tell me she was over-whelmed by the response she received from Angie's List and was having a hard time keeping up with everything. Very unprofessional and the size job does matter. Takes only big money makers. If this is not true, why did she blow us off? Unfortunately for her, the owner, this small job would have landed far bigger jobs with a substantial profit to pocket on her end. Never called or even emailed us thru Angie's List. UNRELIABLE AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL unless you have a job with a big profit.

Kerry has worked for me almost exclusively on these projects since mid-May through Mid-August. My apologies to other customers & prospective customers for hoarding her time this summer. Rest assured she's worth the wait. I "auditioned" a couple of contractors at the outset. I insisted that anyone I hired would need to devote full-time effort to perform the work start to finish with no interruptions. I have unfortunately been the victim of contractors who spread themselves too thin and don't devote full-time effort to a project. Getting a day or two here and there, plus the occasional weekend has caused other projects to extend way too long. Kerry agreed to this up front. Unit One - After touring the property, Kerry provided an acceptable estimate and we got to work. We met in person on a couple of occasions to outline the basics and handled the rest via text, phone & e-mail as necessary. She was receptive to my desires for fit & finish as well as keeping costs under control. Her crew is incredibly hard working and other than down-time created by out-of-stock or delivery issues, they were on site nearly every day. Extras were brought to my attention in a timely manner and we consulted on how best to address unexpected issues or upgrades/downgrades as we went. In this sort of project, an estimate is just that. The total project went over "budget" due to a number of factors, but I understand this is a given. I was well aware of the variables that caused this and the final true-up was within an acceptable margin. Unit Two - Another nearly gut & renovate project. Kerry took over from a second contractor hired to install 1/4" dry-wall over some very dated paneling. This individual did great work, but was barely working two days a week on the project. As a result from mid-March to late June, this was all that was accomplished (see second paragraph). Kerry and I scoped out the project and went right to work. Even though I was out of the country for two weeks, Kerry kept me well informed. This project went smoothly as well with the inevitable zigs and zags that are part of the process. There were two instances of mis-communication that required a ceiling and bathroom vanity to be re-worked. This was Kerry's fault, but she acknowledged the issue immediately and quickly corrected it (including absorbing the cost of incorrect materials). Again, due to extras or unforeseen issues, a supplemental invoice was necessary but it was certainly within the margin of error for a project like this. On the flip side, Kerry performed some gratis work outside the scope of both of these projects; a back splash on unit one and some painting on unit two. A nice gesture that was icing on the cake for a contractor that returns calls, devotes full-time effort and produces a very nice finished product. I highly recommend Kerry for nearly any project large or small.
Description of Work: I used Kerry to gut & renovate two different rental units, one badly in need of renovation after 8 years of use/abuse by tenants and another in a recently acquired property that was also very dated and needed to be brought up to a higher level of finish to match other units in the property.

My kitchen faucet has been failing. This is not a new problem, I've been dealing with it for a very long time, with no solution. (Last year I called in a plumber who worked on this faucet for several hours .... but, bottom line, within several months his work failed and the problem occurred again. I wish I had known Kerry, then.) Recently it has gotten much worse. I called Kerry and she responded quickly to my shout for help. Without hesitation, she took apart the faucet and made the extra effort to see if she could find and replace an old part so that we wouldn't have to replace the whole faucet. Although in the end, we had to go the "new" route, I thoroughly appreciated her attempt to save us the expense of a new faucet. (and, impressed as I am, we have committed with this contractor to replace 14 windows in our home)
Description of Work: Kerry did considerable troubleshooting to figure out a faucet problem.

She evaluated my repair. I asked her several questions regarding the repair process. She left and later sent an email telling me that it is unusual to ask questions regarding the repair, materials used and the process involved. I did ask her if she thought this was a repair that could be done by the homeowner which was probably not the right question to ask . I requested a written estimate for her labor and material. She replied that she is unavailable to do the job. So I learned what NOT to ask and I'll move on to the next provider.
Description of Work: She came to the house and looked at my roof and chimney.

The interaction was a little different then was stated by this customer. She asked me for detailed information: where would I put the nails exactly on each shingle, where do I buy the roofing mastic, what was it called exactly and who produced the product. She asked if I thought that she could do the repair herself and when I replied that i had no idea what her skill level was, she replied that it would be her boyfriend not her. I told her that I have never spoke to her boyfriend and since he was not there I would have no idea what he could do and what he could not do. I told her I would charge her 50.00 and the cost of about 20 in materials. She said if they decided to not do the repair themselves they would call me. When I thought about it after the fact I realized that she had me explain what needed to be done, what materials to use to do it and then how to do it. I wrote her an email explaining that when someone comes out to evaluate a job that it is not customary to go into all that detail. I also explained that 75% of roof work is figuring out where the and how the water is penetrating the substrate. and we charge 35.00 for that initial evaluation and then the estimate of how much that would cost is free. She was very angry that I would not then do the repair. I am sorry that she is disappointed but I will not allow our business to be taken advantage of because we do not take advantage of others. Customers need to be as ethical as contractors in our interactions

Kerry provided an initial inspection of our master bathroom flooring as we had grout cracking. She quickly identified the underlying issue and provided recommendations on fixing it based on our budget. On the date of service, she arrived early and completed the job in just half a day. She even ground down the bathroom door after the new flooring was installed and cleaned up all debris.
We needed a contractor to enclose our existing patio and turn it into a sunroom. I envisioned lots of windows, and a door on either side. But my vision stopped there. Enter Kerry. She advertises that she adds ?a woman?s touch? to the process and that is exactly true. The finished product is amazing, and far better than I had ever hoped. When I first called Kerry, she returned my call quickly and we chatted about the project and the possibilities. I had been nervous about starting this and nervous also about reaching out to a contractor, but from the very start she put me at ease and made me feel comfortable about tackling this project. She promptly came over and worked out an estimate for the job. She sketched plans, and made the whole thing ?visual.? We were delayed a bit getting started because of the horrible winter weather. In spite of that, Kerry kept in touch, keeping me motivated and excited. As soon as the weather allowed, the project began. How can I explain that it was an absolute pleasure to have Kerry and her helper, Jay, here at my house every day, working on the sunroom? Their presence was, well, basically ?.quite enjoyable. Every day brought new progress, and Kerry often invited me to ?hang out? as they worked. And ?hang out? I did, which allowed me to witness first hand the attention that Kerry gave to every aspect of the construction. Quality is of extreme importance to Kerry. Nothing slips by her. Her attention to detail is extraordinary. Every single aspect of this room was considered, planned for, and executed to perfection. Bluntly ?. her woodwork skills are a work of art. She suggested wide windowsills for this sunroom, and went about creating them with all the skills of a master woodworker. They are beautiful. And let me also point out ?.. Kerry is a worker in every area of the construction. I think many people might assume that ?woman contractor? means that she supervises or does other ?woman? stuff. No, no!! Kerry builds. She hauls lumber, operates jackhammers and power saws, lifts and installs windows?.. she does it all. Kerry handled everything from the original permits to the final inspection. The entire process was downright ??. delightful. And we are thrilled with the sunroom. Just ask Kerry if you would like to see it. Her finished work is probably the very best ?spokesman? on her behalf. I will absolutely be using Kerry for other projects around my house. It feels so good to know that I have someone to call when I need a job done. I sincerely look forward to working with her, again.

We are about to put our house up for sale and wanted a handyman to do several small jobs on our 25 year old house. We chose Kerry because of her rating on Angie's list and because she was able to complete the work by the date we needed to have it done. Kerry and her assistant, Jay, were able to accommodate our schedule and were willing to take on everything, from power washing, to doing drywall work, to cleaning gutters, fixing doors, and even installing decorative shutters that involved climbing on a rather steep and high roof. They were very polite, cleaned up after their work, and did a nice job. We have one concern regarding her business practices. Kerry had given us an oral estimate at first but we did not get anything in writing before the work began. They worked for 3 days and after the second day, we were asked to pay about half of the amount of the estimate and the bill showed that we paid for the hours worked so far. When the work was completed, the final bill for the original estimate amount, only showed the total amount of the estimate, even though based on the total hours worked and her hourly rate, it appeared that the bill should have been less than the estimated amount. Also, when we asked about the Senior Discount mentioned in her ad, Kerry indicated that she had already taken that into account although it had never been discussed. All in all, I would recommend her work but would suggest that her customers get a more detailed and written estimate and a better understanding of how the price is computed.

This customer was asked if they wanted an hourly rate or a bid for the job. You can't accept a bid and then decide at the end of the job that you want to change to the hourly rate since that would be less. I took the chance of offering a bid and if we would have experienced difficulties, I m sure they would have not been happy to pay more. A job is either priced by a bid or a time and materials rate. You can't have both. This customer also did not take into consideration the many many emails they sent me asking for advice and help with ordering their mateials. Or the time it took me to get the materials that they decided halfway through that I would pick up. I always ask before doing an estimate how the customer learned about us. Also, I gave this customer a 15% angies list discount instead of the 10% senior discount. Im sorry they were dissatisfied with the price.

[Member Name Removed] was told 34.00 per hour per man. After doing the work, lifting a washing machine and dryer over a heating unit; He refused to pay the bill, when I insisted he tossed the check at me in the driveway. We were there for 50 minutes times two people. We usually charge 40 per hour, I gave him a 15% discount to our hourly rate. Im sorry he was unhappy.
