My backyard hill was sliding by the ton. Over the course of three years, 200 yards of hill was displaced due to the poor drainage and extensive rainfall. Over the course of three years, over ten contractors visited me and provided solutions. NONE OF THEM followed through. On a whim and in desperation, I contacted Mullen Excavating Inc. Kevin Mullen, the owner of company, responded to my call almost immediately. Two days later, he stopped by to evaluate my dire situation. And his ideas were completely opposite of everyone else. Instead of a retaining wall, he advised me to repair the hill. After research, we chose the repair route. Then we patiently waited for five months for warmer and drier weather. Kevin never rushed me for the project. But when the project startedâ ¦ my gosh, it was a well-oiled machine, a BIG HONKING Caterpillar machine. Over the course of two weeks, Kevin and his team removed over 200 yards of fill and top soil, installed three gigantic underground french drains, repaired the water runoff pipes and then completely rebuilt/ regraded my hill, complete w/ grass seed and hatch. A true sight to behold. Throughout the whole process, Kevin remained a calming presence even when the work stopped for three days because of rain. In the end, we got our hill back!! My sincere thanks to Kevin and his team. Kevin seems to be a natural when it comes to excavation work, if that it is a thing. In any case, I highly recommend Mullen Excavating Inc.

I had no idea what I was doing, and he made insightful suggestions that allowed me to make an informed decision with the specifics. Kevin made sure to ask me questions that helped me let him know exactly what I was looking for and needed. Prompt sevice, did a good job excavating and in clean up. Topsoil rstoration was not 100%, but that was expected. Excavators are not gardeners, so if you expect your lawn to be perfect, you beter discuss it in detail before the work. My work on the patio/steps/sidewalk is on going (I'm doing a DYI projet and needed help in excavating only) so the final restoration isno big deal to me since I will have some to do regardless. I would use them again.

The company provided more than what was called for as an excavator. They fixed a damaged storm drain and came on a moments notice, since I explained that it was an emergency. Kevin, Jack and Derek were great to work with and very reasonable. I'd recommend them highly.
